Beachfront holiday rentals in Ambalangoda

Wow wow, we had an incredible stay! The housekeeper Ari and his wife amita were so so kind, the oceanfront location was impeccable, we had an issue with the electric, but thanks to Rebecca’s quick and helpful service it was taken care of promptly and professionaly, I would highly recommend this property!

It was a pleasure to stay here. We had everything we needed. Nihal helped a lot: with transfers, sightseeing, food, house, etc. We didn't have any problems. He's a great host! I highly recommend it!

Мы провели в этом доме целый месяц и остались в восторге! Просторный, уютный, с прекрасной чилл-зоной у реки, где можно расслабиться и насладиться природой. Особенно понравилась крыша – идеальное место для занятий йогой. Кухня полностью оборудована, так что готовить было удобно. Кровати в спальнях комфортные, спалось отлично. До пляжа всего 5-7 минут пешком, а до серф-спота в Велигаме – около 25 минут. В целом, это был замечательный опыт, и мы благодарны хозяевам за гостеприимство!

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne woche am sauberen ruhigen strand. Sind jede nacht mit dem rauschen der wellen eingeschlafen. Das frühstück konnten wir uns auf nachfrage individuel zusammen stellen lassen. Uns wurde mit salz, pfeffer und öl zum kochen ausgeholfen. Sowie mit zusätzliches datenvolumen für das wlan. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Haben die zeit dort sehr genossen!!! Karo und thorge

The place is great. bed is comfortable, kitchen well equipped and very well located. a few minutes walk to the main beach and 15 minutes to Secret Beach. Prabodi is incredibly kind and helpful, and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Best place to stay in Marissa….family had a great time…perfectly matches the phots and descriptions. I would definitely recommend this place. Very very proactive host goes out of his way to help the customer. Very close to the beach 🏖️.

Мы провели здесь месяц – это почти идеальное место! Интернет идеальный для работы, в т.ч. с видеозвонками. Удобная кровать с новым матрасом. Ванная комната – восторг! Туалет и душ отделены друг от друга, а горячая вода – это действительно горячая вода в безлимитном количестве и с великолепным напором. На кухне есть все, кроме турки для приготовления кофе, но это мелочь. С собаками мы подружились и часто играли. Они действительно лают, но только когда кто-то приходит, что в нашем случае происходило очень редко. Хозяева – прекрасные люди, общаться по всем вопросам было легко и приятно. Между нашими и соседними апартаментами нет шумоизоляции за счет тонкой двери в смежной стене. Мы сняли и эти апартаменты тоже и использовали их как отдельный рабочий кабинет. Когда на виллу кто-то приезжает, слышно абсолютно все, что происходит на улице в любое время суток. В любом случае моя оценка 10 из 10, потому что все перечисленные плюсы с лихвой компенсируют несущественные недостатки. Спасибо!

A very clean and cosy villa located a short walk from the beach. Close to many surf-schools and restaurants. Sahan was a great host and ensured everything was clean.

Fantastic place, beautiful pool and gardens. So easy to flow right from living area to pool. Not right on the beach but access very easy through adjoining vacant property of same owners. Staff super attentive. Lovely village of Ballapitiya only 5 mins walk up a quiet lane way, with a multitude of eating options. We loved this village as we seemed to be the only tourists, locals genuine and friendly.

Замечательное просторное жилье со свежим ремонтом и завораживающим видом на океан. Очень просто связаться с хозяином и персоналом. Много заведений вокруг, 1 минута до океана. Есть минимальный набор моющих средств - гели для душа и шампуни. Достаточно чисто, но на кухне немного начинает проявляться затхлость. Для данного сезона может выглядеть немного дороговато и хочется ожидать больше мелочей при такой ценовой категории, - тапочки, халаты, зубные щетки, больше полотенец, бреющие принадлежности, но это, скорее уже точки для улучшения, все-таки это аппартаменты, а не отель. 11/10 :)

We had a wonderful stay at Catherine’s cottage. Location was good; walkable to the beach. It is hard to fully explain just how spacious the cottage is - every room is large and well thought out, even the outside veranda is enormous. The children loved the little pool, it was absolutely perfect to end our Sri Lankan adventure. Thank you.

Fantastic stay at Talaramba Reef! We had a large family gathering for 3 nights (9 adults and 5 children) and booked both villas. The villas were beautiful, thoughtfully decorated, very comfortable, with lovely and immaculately kept grounds. The place was very spacious and it felt very relaxing, and the pools were very pleasant. Ranjith and his team were incredible. They were kind, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a memorable stay, including helping to organize a party and putting up a lovely banner. The food was also exceptional and great value for money. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Good place for family holidays. They have a chef who will plate some amazing food.

Это просто великолепная вилла на самом берегу океана! Шикарный интерьер, все удобства, небольшой бассейн на третьем этаже, сад и выход на собственный маленький пляж. Не смотря на довольно большие волны, у нас была возможность окунаться в океан. Недалеко от виллы магазины и рестораны, всё удобно. Менеджер виллы был на связи, но уважал нашу приватность, за это мы особенно благодарны! Вилла идеальна для пары. Мы однозначно рекомендуем к посещению!!!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa, located right on the serene and picturesque Talpe Beach. The calm, crystal-clear waters were perfect for calm bathing, and we were lucky enough to spot massive turtles every morning! We loved the option of cooking for ourselves, and the fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The vibrant markets in Galle, just a 15-minute drive away, offered an incredible variety of fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables, which was a real treat. If you prefer, Anjalee, the lovely housekeeper, is also available to cook you breakfast. The villa was impeccably clean, and the communication with Jack was seamless and clear from start to finish. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Wir haben dort wundervolle 2 Wochen verbracht. Das Haus ist mit seiner Lage, direkt am Strand, und seiner Ausstattung ein Glücksgriff. Die Einwohner in der Nachbarschaft waren alle sehr freundlich. Der Ort ist noch kein Touristenhotspot, was wir sehr genossen haben. In Ambalanghoda ist eine Zugstation, man kommt also auch einfach in andere Städte. Ansonsten fahren überall die üblichen Tuk Tuks. Jay der Housekeeper hat uns alle Wünsche erfüllt und was sehr zuvorkommend. Er hat ein paar Mal für einen Aufpreis für uns gekocht, sehr lecker!

So, you’re obviously looking for accommodation in south-west Sri Lanka – well don’t look any further than Sailor’s Bay. From the minute you enter this paradise, you will be welcomed and charmed by Dilan and his family. The environment is gorgeous – any stress totally disappears. Nothing is too much trouble. They are engaging, and genuinely go out of their way to ensure that every second of your stay is a second to remember. Our family (13 – 3 generations – ages 2 – 74) was continually astounded by their willingness to do the best by us . It was a sad time when we left, but happy in the knowledge that we will return. So, take my word for it – Sailor’s Bay will not disappoint even the most pedantic traveler.

I stayed for two weeks at this beachfront villa in Ambalangoda, and it was an incredible experience. The villa is spacious, with large rooms and plenty of space to relax. Having a parking area was a huge advantage, especially for my rented motorcycle. Denuka, the host, was extremely helpful and responsive. He quickly addressed my requests via WP and ensured a smooth stay. Another highlight was Denuka’s uncle, who spends most of the day near the swing in the front yard. He is incredibly kind and always ready to help whenever needed. Exploring the surroundings by motorcycle was a fantastic experience—I highly recommend it. Overall, this villa is a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic getaway. I would definitely stay here again!

We really loved our stay at Nalinda’s place. But if you are looking for a fancy, high-end place according to European or US standards, do not choose this one because you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an authentic and charming place with lively people who are super friendly and helpful, take a chance, because it is actually a great deal (never forget how much you are paying !). Nalinda is the best Airbnb host I have ever experienced: super communicative and great at giving tips and arranging transport. Sachin, the person responsible for the house and the tuc tuc, is great. He is the one driving you around and yes, he might be a bit more expensive than the guys you can stop on the street but then it is also super convenient to have a personal driver at all times. The garden and the pool are a definite bonus and there is a beautiful beach on the other side of the road (don’t get discouraged by the wrecked houses that you have to pass). This is authentic Sri Lankan living 💕

Największym atutem tego miejsca jest lokalizacja oraz gospodarz, który jest bardzo pomocny. Jeżeli nie chcecie turystów na każdym kroku a raczej poznać lokalnych mieszkańców to idealne miejsce. Blisko targ z rybami a w soboty duży targ warzyw i owoców, parę minut tuk tuk w stronę Galle. Budynek składa się z mieszkania na dole oraz na piętrze. Piętro to 3 sypialnie w tym dwie z widokiem na ocean oraz kuchnia ze stołem. Na dole jest podobnie. Duża grupa osób ma budynek dla siebie. Teren wokół domu jest zadbany. Rano słychać przypływających rybaków, ale jest to element uroku tego miejsca. Woda przy posesji jest bezpieczna z uwagi na małą zatokę, po prawej stronie sporo płycizny, miejsce dobre do nauki pływania na desce. Jeżeli szukacie idealnej ciszy to tu jej nie znajdziecie jeżeli chcecie poznać prawdę o tym miejscu Sri Lanki to dobrze traficie. My zakochaliśmy się w tym miejscu pełnym dźwięków i życia wśród lokalnej społeczności.

Me and my wife like this place so much! The location is the best for house on the beach! The view is amazing, the rooms are clear and comfortable. Hot water and AC in every bedroom. Big living room and comfortable kitchen. Two minutes with Tuk tuk from the city center. And we appreciate the hospitality and help of our host Shashi, who was available at all times! Thank you and we meet again soon!

We had the most wonderful stay at Seagem in Mirissa! The house was perfect, everything in the kitchen was well-organized, and the porch area was such a cozy spot to sit, read, and unwind. The garden added a lovely homely touch, making the entire experience feel so peaceful and relaxing. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the amazing hospitality by the lovely family hosting us. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, served us delicious dinners on two nights (truly some of the best we had!), and their two adorable dogs were the sweetest little guardians, friendly and comforting to have around. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, guiding us with local recommendations like the secret beach, a scenic hilltop view near the harbor, and even a nearby spa. Their warmth and genuine care made this trip extra special, we’ve honestly never experienced such loving & thoughtful hosts before. To top it all off, the location is perfect, just a short 5-min walk to beach.
