Gorgeous views, awesome location. Can walk to cafes and restaurants. Top notch food around. We had debated Urubamba vs Ollantaytambo but so happy we picked Urubamba. Ollantay gets PACKED with tourists - it’s overwhelming. Urubamba felt live a super lovely local place. And a quick drive to all major sites in the area. Our host helped us organize taxis, and tours. We horse backed to the salt mines and it was way more fun then taking a taxi or bus.

We would highly recommend staying with Sonia. We are a family with 2 kids (8&5) and we loved this place! Sonia is the sweetest and will make sure you’re taken care of at any time of the day. The homemade breakfast in the morning and a cup of tea in the afternoon were so welcome! Sonia also provides a wool/weaving demonstration as part of the stay at which was great and so educational! The kids especially loved the guinea pigs and the alpacas. Sonia is our new Peruvian aunt! We would definitely go back!

The accommodation is as beautiful as in the photos, the nature is beautiful. I got a little lost, because the location is exactly where they indicate but there is no big sign and we arrived at night so yes, that little entrance door is it! There is electricity to charge cell phones, for the light it is necessary to use candles, believe it or not it is a wonderful experience, I read in the comments that there was no hot water but it does have it and it is very good, it is appreciated because at night it is cold. In short, a great place to disconnect and have a great time, quite romantic too!

Overall it was a great experience with amazing view of the mountains and a beautiful private garden. The host was very responsive and helped me arrange the pick up from the airport and i ended up hiring the same driver for other trips. He was very polite and the price was decent. During my stay i got treated to a pear pie and an avocado straight from their garden that was very kind. And a cute labrador Timo was coming to hang out sometimes. Few things to keep in mind: During my stay there were two days without the wifi and one day without the light for the majority of the day. You are in the nature, so things like ants and spiders are very common. And there were a lot of ants in the house. It does get cold at night. So you might want to bring a warm pajama:) i wish i did:) Despite these things, i definitely recommend to stay here. It was one of a kind experience!
