The Nishimura Residence is a traditional Nara machiya (townhouse) that is over 110 years old.In 2019, I renovated “Grandma’s House,” where I spent a lot of time as a child, and opened it as an inn.Since the Nara machiya has been preserved in its original state, it may cause some inconvenience, and it is not a luxurious hotel where everything is provided. 　Instead, I believe there is no better place than Nara-cho to immerse oneself in the “comfortable rustic atmosphere” that permeates the town.We provide books in the room and a vegetarian breakfast in the hope that this environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the station, will help you with “introspection and recovery.”(You can purchase almost all of the books in the room.) 　Please spend this evening listening to your own heart's voice, surrounded by the tranquility of the Nishimura residence and Nara-cho.

You can stay in the temple grounds where religious activities of Jodo Shinshu (True Pure Land School) are being held. A newly renovated machiya town house with typical layout and a small garden, retaining the tradition of Naramachi - the old merchant town of Nara. Easy access via bus and train, supermarket, restaurants, convenience store, bakery, and a Japanese bath house just minutes away. This house belonged to a famous wood carver of "ittobori" - a traditional Nara technique of carving the wood. A projector and a record player will make your stay even more pleasant. Enjoy!

There are many convenience stores and restaurants in the surrounding area. The building is old but has been renovated in a modern style. There is also floor heating on the first floor, and all rooms are air-conditioned. Comfortable even in winter. There is a parking space for one car on the adjacent lot.
