A perfect little place... in Arcata

The "perfect little place to stay in Arcata" is now an award-winning place to stay as well... The Historic Design and Review Commission of our fair city, gave us a design award for our storybook style home, noting the "...outstanding level of craftsmanship and artful detailing..." As longtime design/builders of handcrafted homes,we are honored and happy about the recognition. And we're glad to be able to share our place with guests who are looking for something a little out of the ordinary. What guests will find, attached to the larger home: A friendly, private apartment, with its own brick-walled, terrace entry, 1 separate bedroom, 1 bath, an open kitchen and living room. In other words, it's a cozy apt, but not a studio. Completely furnished ...you'll discover an easy place to stay and enjoy feeling 'like a local' in Arcata. It's so charming, you could call it a "pied-`a-terre"...French for 'foot on the ground' or a lodging for a short time. Just a few blocks walk to the HSU university campus or the village plaza. Arcata is filled with cafes, artful shops, theaters, interesting, above-average groceries/delis,bakeries and a farmer's market. The famous Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Refuge and the Arcata Redwood Community Forest are just minutes from the apt. Easy day-trip driving or biking distances to the redwoods, rivers, and scenic coast. Fully equipped kitchen, w/dishwasher, gas oven/stove and microwave. Plush queen bed, 1 twin sofa bed, slate-tiled shower, all linens and towels provided. Wi-Fi, flat screen tv/dvd, and a selection of movies, books and games. Pick up some locally-made Cypress Grove chevre and fresh-baked bread from one of the nearby bakeries. Make a salad with greens from the kitchen garden. Have a glass of wine in the private, brick-walled garden terrace and pretend you are in Paris. Offer a toast to your good fortune in choosing a place that's a lucky find.
