We love our cabin and relaxing with the fireplace and forest view. It's a short walk to the Trout Creek rec center (w/year round pools, spas, fitness, golf, basketball, playground, etc) and the only local store as well as the Lodge (bar/restaurant). Snow play area is a short walk or drive. You can use the equestrian center and the private Donner Lake beach (with water sport rentals and grill). Everything you need is right here... This is a fantastic, relaxing vacation for the whole family!
“This home is definitely hygge! We all *loved* the decor... vaulted wood ceilings, rustic-chic shelving and tables made of black metal and wood, very sleek lighting & ceiling fan, and a lovely view of endless evergreens. I came with my family and my brother’s family, so there were eight of us including four teens. It was a little tight for that many people (especially with just 1 bathroom downstairs; the other bathroom is in the master bedroom), just as Allison warned us it might be. The bathrooms and parts of the kitchen have not yet been updated, but if they will be anything like the rest of the house, they will be amazing. The master bed was comfy, but there was a bit of a valley in the mattress. It didn’t bother me much, but could bother others. The master bedroom is a large loft area. It’s spacious and private, being the only room upstairs, but it is open to the common room below, so we brought earplugs. The kids’ room had a single bed on the top bunk, a full bed on the bottom bunk, and a twin trundle bed that pulled out from under the full-sized bed. So this room could certainly have four people in it, but they would need to be comfortable with that sleeping arrangement. A 2-minute drive away was the rec center which was still closed due to COVID-19, but they have been hiring and training staff so hopefully will open soon. Adjacent to the rec center is the wonderful little Z Market with delicious and freshly made sandwiches (BBQ, French dip, chipotle pesto turkey, etc) and essential groceries. The cute downtown area was completely open, with mandatory masks inside and hand sanitizer on the sidewalks and inside many of the shops. Allison was a wonderful and responsive host. Her home was beautiful, and the price was reasonable.”
ON THE TRUCKEE RIVER right in the historic downtown area, our little studio is a 2 block walk to restaurants AND shopping. You’ll love our place because you can sit inside or in bed and watch the river flow by. It's peaceful place, new and modern, private and the middle of it all. It's not just a place to stay, it's a destination. QUIET people only please. We have a high end sofa sleeper on the main floor + 2 twin beds in the loft up a ladder. It's a tight fit for 4 but doable if you're close.
“This place is perfect, and Christine and Paul are fabulous hosts. They were present enough to chat with us about MTB rides, help if needed, but respected our space and privacy. The studio is obviously well loved and beautifully appointed. Thick towels, soft bedsheets, and the most thoughtful and functionally equipped kitchen I've ever experienced in a rental. It honestly had everything needed to cook, was really intelligently put together. When we were there it went from 90 degrees to a snowy 30, and the place stayed cool when it was hot and warmed up nicely when the temperature dropped. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Input from my 18yr old: "the WIFI worked really well!"”
Light & bright, spacious yet cozy studio located on quiet street in Tahoe Donner. Guest pass to all amenities. 15 minute drive to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows or Northstar. 5 minutes to Donner Lake & 1/2 hr to Lake Tahoe.
“I had a great stay at Sandy's place in Tahoe Donner. Open concept A-frame studio / loft in a quiet neighborhood with nearby amenities. Plenty of sunlight to be had through the south facing windows. The place has a really peaceful and cozy vibe. Sandy was a great host and always responsive to any needs / questions. The perfect solution if you're looking to get away and enjoy all of what Tahoe has to offer. Thanks again, Sandy!!!!”
