Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Arouca

Very nice house with a very pretty garden in a super quiet area! We enjoyed a lot.

The hostess is not only friendly, responsive and available, but kind which is rare these days. We were in space in full blackout. Without electricity or communications, a D. Elisabete showed up with a basket of food and a gas bottle. For those who want peace this is the right space. The only point is the road to the house that is even very narrow.

Great stay at Cancela House! The house is as described: charming and atypical, bucolic setting, quiet, neatly decorated, well-equipped. A small peaceful haven in the small mountain, surrounded by eucalyptus forests. It felt good there. Special mention for the very nice dining/barbecue shelter, the charming pool with views and the pretty courtyard (with great sunbeds). We loved the setting and this house! Fatima was warm and responsive. Very easy interaction. If you like authenticity, typical (and atypical at the same time) accommodations, discover this corner of the mountain, discover Arouca Geo Park (passadiços de Paiva + Arouca 516)… Go ahead!

Spacious house, located in a very quiet place, excellent for relaxing and a few km from the village of Arouca. Maria-Josée always responded quickly and sympathetically. Judite, who welcomed us, made us feel at home, always available for anything and very friendly! We loved it!

Five stars aren’t enough! We loved the little house. It’s charming and unique and offers all means of comfort you could wish for. We would come back there anytime! The host himself and his parents next door are the sweetest and most caring people. Even when we had questions and problems, they all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We got support within minutes. I cannot express more how much we recommend this accomodation and how nice Bruno is. Thank you so much, this stay will be remembered 😃

This stay was completely revitalizing! A beautiful, private house with a perfect view of the mountains and the river. One only hears the sounds of nature, the river running and the birds singing. Everything in the house was amazing, perfect and very large jacuzzi, air conditioning in all rooms and everything was clean, perfect to welcome us. It was a stay to recharge in the heart of nature. If you are reading this rating and are in doubt, do not stay, this is the perfect place for a full rest with all amenities. We just left and we already want to go back! I would like to extend a very special thank you to D. Elisabete, who was really 5 stars and assured us that everything was perfect, was always very responsive and available to clarify any questions. A big thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Very comfortable and well furnished apartment for 4 people. There was absolutely everything needed. The private garage was a very nice extra.

Just perfect 2 min walk from restaurants and shops, just stunning views. They let us check in early at no extra costs, it was magnificent. Thank and will stay again very soon. Thank you once again.

Alex was a wonderful host, allowing us to check in very early, and providing restaurant recommendations nearby. He lives on site downstairs, and is very responsive and helpful. The Manor House is a beautiful building adjacent to Sé do Porto, and our top-floor apartment was spacious and had incredible views overlooking the Douro River and Dom Luis I Bridge. Absolutely worth a stay with Alex in the heart of the Ribeira neighborhood!

Very clean apartment right beside the most beautiful beach. We went off season and there was still a good choice of small cafes and bars open. Very accessible to Porto and Averio by train and also cheap. Five people return was only 22 euro and half an hour journey each way. Averio is also well worth checking out. Fernando was great but to be honest we didn't really need to contact him much as everything was pretty much set up to enjoy your stay. Only downside is the beach is too far to walk to the bigger supermarkets but Uber and Bolt are very good and also quite cheap. A few local smaller shops with most of the essentials, so not really an issue. Thank you for a lovely stay! Highly recommend

Great apartment for 2 people. Great location. Elevator was a surprise and a nice amenity after a long day of travel.

Attention: The apartment is located on the first upper floor. There is a huge terrace that is fantastic for breakfast and makes it possible to watch the sunset every evening. The apartment is very spacious, super well equipped. The beds are very comfortable to sleep in. A special treat is the beautiful interior: it is almost reminiscent of a castle... The living room in particular is totally impressive. The garden is beautiful, huge. There are various fruit trees that invite you to snack. A beautiful garden pond. The highlight is certainly the pool. You share the garden and the pool with two other tenants in the house. That is, you just have to make do. Communication with the hosts was excellent. We received great tips and always got a quick answer to any questions. The house is located in a very small village. You definitely need a car. In about 10 minutes by car, there is a large supermarket and restaurants.

Really great apartment and location. Absolutely beautiful. Quiet and huge garden with a really nice pool. The garden is well maintained and fruit and vegetables are growing. Owners are friendly and really helpful. The apartment and kitchen are well equipped and really clean. Would definitely recommend this place and would return.

Fantastic stay at Ricardo's villa! Beautiful pool and villa setup in an incredibly secluded part of the countryside. We went as a group of eight in our late twenties - we didn't have a car so Ricardo organised a taxi for us to get around that was incredibly helpful, including to get down into the village to visit the INCREDIBLE Tasquinha do Tio Miguel! We will be back! Xxx

Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back!!! Adrianne was great dropping by each morning to have a little tidy in the kitchen and make breakfast. The view of the Douro valley from poolside and the rooms was incredible. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!

Staying at Quinta dos Moinhos was truly a dream come true for us. Not only was it the perfect setting for our wedding, but the property and the views were simply unforgettable. The home is absolutely stunning and one of a kind, nestled in a peaceful and picturesque location, with breathtaking views and a rich family history. Every detail of the home is filled with character, and you can feel the care and pride that has gone into preserving the home and the surrounding nature. Diogo was an exceptional host - warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. He even hopped on a Facetime call so we could see the property firsthand and feel more confident about our decision! Diogo is just a genuinely kind person, and from the moment we arrived he made us feel completely at ease. His hospitality and kindness were especially meaningful during such a special time in our lives. We couldn’t ask for a more special place to celebrate, and we are already looking forward to the day we can return!
