Holiday rentals with lake access in Balapitiya

You will have enough space and privacy. The little pond with its fish in it in the middle of the house calmes you down and makes you relax. It's a traditional sri lankian house with a beautiful garden. The only pity is it is right on a quite busy road. But all in one I had a pleasant stay. Sriyani and Siegfried are lovely and friendly hosts who were always responsive during my stay and gave me some helpful travel tips around the area. We had a fantastic two weeks here. It’s in an idyllic spot very quiet but walkable to all the bars and shops The apartment was fabulous, great living space , comfortable beds and lovely showers. AC worked perfectly and kept us all cool. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding in Bentota. It was an excellent place to stay and relax following all the events associated with a South Indian wedding. The location was a bit out of the way - our initial Uber there wound up charging us extra because we had to go up a dirt road - but Edward was very accommodating and put us in touch with a few tuk-tuk drivers who took us to and from the different events that were planned. He even drove us to an event himself when we couldn't find a ride. The food was also quite good - every meal had a spread of Sri Lankan dishes cooked from locally sourced ingredients. He shared the proposed menu with us and adjusted it after learning that our party had three vegetarians.

Lahiru and his family were amazing hosts and so kind to us! They moved over our bags from their other property (shady cottage) while we were away for the day and even came to help us when we ran out of gas on our bike. They were so friendly and we felt right at home. It’s a beautiful peaceful location that is still close to ahanagama and kabalana beach which has lots of restaurants, surfing, bars. You can rent a bike so you can get around easily. Thank you for everything you did for our stay! :)

Good location, supernice host, sweet rabbits on the territory of the villa. Hope, the description of one room will be updated soon, cause it differs from the reality :) Also be ready for some extra charges (for example electricity bills, if you need to use ACs.) It was great, that power generator appeared at the end of our staying. It’s a real blessing, when electricity is cut off!

We had such a wonderful stay! It is probably one of the best experiences we have had with Airbnb so far. The hosts Gayana and Priti Kumar are extremely friendly and caring hosts, who make you feel at home immediately. They will take care of any needs that you have and are always available. The home has everything you need for a long-term stay and is in a more quiet area away from any busy areas. There is beautiful nature and many exotic animals to observe. I can highly recommend staying there if you are looking for a peaceful place a little outside of Galle.

The grandparents of the host live downstairs and they were really lovely and tried to help us where they could. They provided an extra mattress for our 3 year old and drove us for a small fee with their tuktuk. The beach is near and there is a lovely bar with lovely poeple the ocean freedom Restaurant, if you stay here you should go there - if you do, say hi from us.

Very good location, nice and clean villa. The host is very friendly and easy going. Supermarket is 3min walk, restaurant is next to this villa, beach is 7 min walk, but there are a lot of locals.

This incredible property, which is absolutely as described and photographed, delighted us every day! Nishantha and his family are incredibly attentive and helpful, we are very excited to meet them, thank you for your hospitality. We had at our disposal a beautiful house with a private and well-maintained territory, a swimming pool overlooking the lake. A separate area for BBQ, in the evening beautiful lighting turns on, in the form of light bulbs, there was a feeling of some kind of holiday. The fauna in Sri Lanka, in general is very rich, and in this villa we saw lizards, a peacock came to visit, many chipmunks and beautiful birds. I am absolutely sure that by choosing this place - you will not regret anything.

We had a wonderful stay! It was one of the most beautiful accommodations we had in Sri Lanka. Spotlessly clean and new, good air conditioning and what we liked best: A really nice quiet and private location. We were able to watch monkeys, birds and squirrels from the balcony. You are in the middle of nature and it is so relaxing 🥰 We were able to park our tuktuk in the yard and check in and out flexibly. The hosts are a family who live in the house next door and they are all so friendly and accommodating while giving us our privacy. We can't highly recommend it and would stay here again anytime. Staying with Nalaka and his family was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had on our trip. From the very first moment, we didn’t just feel welcome, we felt like we were visiting old friends. They have such big hearts and were always there with a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. The place itself was even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was super clean, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. But what made our stay unforgettable was the way Nalaka and his family treated us. We had so many lovely conversations, and it always felt like they genuinely cared about us and our experience. He also cooked for us a few times, and the food was honestly some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. So if you’re looking for a real, honest, and heartwarming Sri Lankan experience, not just a place to sleep, but a place to connect, then you should definitely book this Airbnb. We’ll always remember this stay, and we’re so grateful we got to meet Nalaka and his wonderful family.

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

Staying at Lakmali's place in Runakanda Forest is definitely one of my top 5 favorite places in Sri Lanka. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay there, especially with my mom, as it was her first time in Sri Lanka,and she absolutely loved every moment of it! The food was beyond incredible! Each meal was showcasing the rich and flavorful Sri Lankan cuisine. The peaceful and serene surroundings of the forest made it the perfect escape. It’s a truly tranquil place where we could relax, and the location was just ideal for enjoying authentic local experiences. We had the chance to pick tea just a short walk away from the cottage, a unique experience that we’ll never forget. We also had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, and the warm hospitality made our stay feel special. My mom and I both agreed that it was a stay we’ll cherish forever. I can’t recommend Lakmali’s place highly enough for anyone looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable experience in SL !
