The house was renovated with all new appliances and decor, but the chic cottage feeling reminds you that you are on the charming Island of Balboa, Many of our repeat visitors are 3 generation families. the grandparents, children and grandchildren, who love their "trundle room". The sand and bay are just steps away. Bikes, SUPs, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, games, for both inside and out. We even have a baby pool to use on the patio for little ones. Also a port a crib and high chair if needed. There is a tenant in back who will share the W/D in the garage, but the rest of the property and equipment is yours. I usually meet the guests on arrival to show them around and of course to meet them. I live just a few miles away, so am available if they havr questions, The home is situated on Balboa Island, a little-known gem. Main Street, which is just 2 blocks away, has unique shops and several restaurants. The ferry to Newport Beach is just a short walk from the house. Kayak, bike, paddle board, or simply relax on the beach. Walking or biking are the easiest ways to navigate the Island! We have a garage for your use, and Fashion Island and Newport Beach are close by. Balboa is a lovely little community and some of our neighbors live there year round, so we ask our guests to respect that the houses are close by, and to bring their visiting inside at 10 on weekdays and 11 on the weekends.

Each bedroom includes private bath with shower and 2 have tubs. Master BR has private patio with great views. "Elderly friendly" with easy access. The main street of Balboa Island has everything you would need during your visit including shops, restaurants, market, The Village Inn bar, bike rentals, and many sweet tooth favorites like Dad's Donuts and Sugar 'n Spice serving their famous frozen bananas and Balboa Bars.

Vintage beach cottage w/ modern-day conveniences (central heat & A/C), Apple TV, DVD, vintage appliances, incl. dishwasher) on the quiet-end of Balboa Island; tree-lined street, steps to beaches on South Bayfront; 2 blocks to Balboa Island ferry and Island Market. Cottage was built in 1923 and served as a "Speak Easy" (a bar during the prohibition era ) with many famous actors, musicians, singers patronizing the site (John Wayne, James Cagney & Humphrey Bogart) just to name a few.

If you walk out the back door, you're a few feet away from Balboa's main avenue with restaurants, shops, and most importantly, Dad's frozen banana stand. If you want to go farther, take the beach cruisers in the garage around the island or to Newport on the Balboa Ferry. Better yet, settle in and relax on the porch overlooking the water.
