Rural Shepherd's Hut - The Place for Ewe

MarkRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is the third time I've stayed in Katherine's 'shepherd's hut'. It is a beautifully situated, cosy and peaceful retreat from which to explore Oxford. Katherine is a great host, friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. I'm sure I'll be back for a fourth time soon.

What we liked the most was the location of the house, in the heart of the English countryside. Very quiet and wonderful nature place. The house was cozy. Suzanne has been very friendly and very communicative.

Shepherd's hut on a farm with a hot tub & Alpacas

HermioneRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Celebrated our 1 year anniversary and it was absolutely lovely, we are definitely going back! Lynden was so lovely and gave clear instructions that made finding eveything so easy, love our tour of the farm and feeding all the animals that were so friendly! The room was really nice and decorated so beautifully & really appreciated the complimentary snacks. We loved the hot tub, lighting the fire for our marshmallows, and how close the animals got to us! Was a lovely place to stay felt so at home and welcomed, would define my recommend :)

Mallard Cabin at Marston Lodge

PhilRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I was arriving late and Chris met me at the main road so I could follow him to the place. He was great, he showed me the access and details of the place and left me to it. He brought logs over for the fireplace which was great as I hasd't bought any. The place is small but you have what you need. Room was warm and cosy and the setting is just amazing. if you want to get away from the hussle and bussle of daily life...this is the place to come. There is another Lodge across the other side of the lake but not close enough to disturb your privacy or in view of each other. I went to Market Harborough which is the nearest town..they have some fantastic restaurants and cafes and bars...plus a waitrose,.aldi etc just 10 to 12 mins drive away. You are very secluded at the Lodge..you are immersed in the countryside so great walks and views plus you see lots of wildlife around you. I will definitely be visiting again

'Shepherds Rest' our stunning shepherds hut.

SamRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Perfect for our short stay in Milton Keynes, hut was lovely and was nice to have some tea and biscuit provisions. Easy check in and a beautiful area to be set up at. Hut is right next to the farm house and store. Fortunately we had no noise from either. Overall very pleased, only slight issue was that the bathroom fan wasn't working (or we couldn't work out how to turn it on) so it got very humid in there, some signs of mould but could be related to the fan so I'm sure will get fixed soon.

Shepherds Huts in Charlton

KatieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a lovely stay in the shepherds huts with our daughter. She loved the bunk beds to sleep in and enjoyed the camping like experience. We played scrabble in the evenings in the kitchen and she had lots of fun doing lots of handstands on the grass out the front of the huts! We then had a lovely walk along the foot path just down the road. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something wholesome.

Ridgeway Cabin & Hot Tub Spa

AngelaRating, 5 stars2 days ago
My daughter and I booked this as somewhere to spend precious quality time together away from it all and the location didn’t disappoint-it’s a little slice of tranquility set in the most beautiful surroundings. The cabin had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean and Richard was a brilliant host-from before our arrival in the morning when he asked if we needed anything beforehand, to giving clear instructions on how to find the place to then being on hand to show us round and give us some great local insight on places to go, eat and to see. We will definitely be back-it was just perfect-thank you

Little Wellcroft, the annex home

LyndseyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Host was responsive and very amenable. Couldn't have been more helpful during our stay but we still had our privacy. Immaculate and homely accommodation with everything we needed. Lots of well thought out small touches like milk, ice, fully working TV with plenty of channels, and even some dog treats and a bit of food had we forgotten anything. We had a busy weekend at an event and it was sublime to return to Little Welcroft.

Luxury lantern topped Shepherds Wagon

SusanRating, 5 stars3 days ago
A fabulous shepherd’s hut renovated from scratch by the owners. Everything was so well thought out meaning we had all that was needed and more for a lovely peaceful stay. We stayed for a couple of nights and walked to the King William IV the first night where we enjoyed spectacular views and a great meal. Ipsden itself is a small and totally unspoilt village with lots of local footpaths. My husband brought his bike and enjoyed a couple of rides in the beautiful undulating countryside. It was such a lovely place we would like to return some time in the future and spend a little more time exploring the area.

Hot tub, hut and heavenly views!

EmilyRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a wonderful stay at Ruth's place. Ruth was a great host, responsive, great local reccomendations for food and really flexible with check in which was great. The hut was well equipped amd thoughtfully laid out, and surprisingly didn't feel cramped for two people. All really tidy and clean, not spotless but given the nature of the hut/location on a farm I think that was expected and acceptable, and didn't impede stay at all. Well equipped and thoughtful additions like bug spray were a great touch. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

A home from home in historic Eydon

AndrewRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed at the cottage while visiting our new grandson in nearby Woodford Halse. Communications from Victoria were excellent, as were directions. Upon our arrival Victoria came out to greet us and (vitally important) to ask us what we wanted for breakfast! The cottage turned out to be an absolute delight, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Our last Airbnb experience in May 2024 was dreadful and it was a relief to have our faith restored. Although the cottage was small, it was perfect for our needs. The bedroom upstairs was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. The downstairs bathroom was nicely appointed and there was plenty of hot water for showers. Although the cottage doesn't have a kitchen as such, Victoria provided a microwave and toaster, plus bread, cereals, tea, milk, coffee etc. Nothing had been overlooked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend both the cottage and our host Victoria unreservedly! Thank you very much Victoria! Andrew & Jayne.

Stunning Lakeside Shepherd's Hut - Hot Tub & Sauna

AmyRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Wow! What a great find. Booked this peaceful weekend away for my partner and I and what an amazing weekend we both had. The surroundings were so peaceful, the lake was beautiful, animals (but not noisy or disruptive) the pigs were adorable and run up to the car whenever you drove past. The shepherds hut was lovely, packed full of all the essentials you could need, clean and tidy, what else could you ask for. Andy left a folder full of handy instructions for the hot tub, firepit and bbq. Which was brilliant. The only time we left the lake was to take a stroll to the local pub (approx 1mile walk) being the hottest weekend of the year so far we didn’t use the sauna but again great instructions and a great idea. The hammocks were a great touch. We loved the log burner hot tub, once you get the hang of it, it’s very simple. Nice welcome touches with chocolate and beer, Andy was great at replying when we had a question. We both loved it! Thankyou so much

Cotswold Lodge - Hidden Gem

EllieRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Absolutely loved our stay here! The place was spotlessly clean and tidy upon arrival, and it was so spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax. The comfy bed ensured a great night's sleep every night. The views are absolutely beautiful, and the whole area is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect retreat to come back to and unwind. Even in a heatwave, the lodge doesn't get too hot, which was a huge plus. The host was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is excellent, with easy accessibility and good parking. We also found the neighbours to be very pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place for a relaxing getaway!
