Cottage holiday rentals in Big Sur

Really hard to describe how wonderful the whole back yard is. Sunset here were amazing. All kinds of wildlife. The smell of the California hills in springtime always refreshes. Dogs loved it (and couldn't quite believe it). We swung on the swing, sat in the gazebo, enjoyed basking in the balcony views.

We were so pleasantly surprised by this lovely spot! The property, location and amenities surpassed our expectations, and Shari was so welcoming and responsive. It was a perfect destination for our mini trip for our family of 4!

Annie was a great host and the place was exactly as described and just what we needed for a relaxing beach getaway. We loved the hot tub in the backyard and the beach cottage feel of the place. Thank you for hosting us!

Channon and Randal were so friendly and helpful! And the property is so beautiful to see, from the pond with fishes and turtles to the large oak trees and outdoor fireplace, my wife and I couldn't get enough. This property is definitely worth a visit. The large property size combined with it's location in wine country really made it feel more private and secluded, just what I was looking for. I am grateful I got to stay here, and also grateful for their hospitality and accommodations!

Liza's place was wonderful! I would happily book a stay at Rickett's retreat again. The location is ideal, and the place itself is lovely, and it is well represented by the listing. Liza's communications from booking to checkout were detailed, timely, and friendly. Would highly recommend a stay here!

This was our second stay here. Our daughter's family lives in the neighborhood and this is the perfect location for us to stay while visiting. It is quiet, comfortable and just what we need. The yard is very cute and we love to look at the animals with our grandchildren. We lucked out and saw the planets aligned from the driveway on the 25th, as it is dark enough to view the stars without city lights. Don and Lori are great hosts- there are treats and fresh eggs in the fridge, and everything we needed was right there. We will be back.

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood in Cambria. Katy’s place had everything we needed to relax. We loved our “home base” to return to in between eating tasty food in town and enjoying the nearby hiking trails and ocean views. The hot tub is the cherry on top!

Wow!!! Just the home feeling was amazing, we went in the jacuzzi early in the mornings and the slight fog felt perfect for the privacy feeling, the safe and comfortable atmosphere was very pleasant. We were able to cook meals and the cottage had all the necessary utensils needed. The directions were accurate and helpful and found the cottage right away. The customer service and messaging response was amazing and we will definitely be coming back.

We absolutely loved this cottage, it was the perfect location, a quick walk to downtown. The place itself looked just like the photos, was clean and had everything we needed! We will be back!

We had an amazing stay, and the property is fantastic. Everything was super well communicated, including any questions we had. The property was quiet and private, with a lovely deck in the sun. Kitchen had everything you needed, as did the rest of the property including the cool milk bottle display. The rest of the property was spotless and we really enjoyed staying! Bravo to the hosts.

This house is the perfect place to relax and enjoy wine country. Anytime I return to Paso I will always want to reserve this house. Michelle is so sweet and responsive and lays everything out perfectly.

This was a great place! Close to everything but still very quiet, clean and lovely on the inside with a beautiful courtyard on the outside and safe parking. Everything was just as described, and I would definitely stay again!

Sean & Jen’s listing is what AirBnB is all about. A lovely , tranquil and elegant space built probably for themselves and being shared to fellow guests. Great amenities and well setup. The creek is magical . We enjoyed our stay and hope to return .

This Pink Gem was amazing and allowed our family to experience an "optimal guest flow" for (3) adults. All of the doors and kitchen cabinets were rock solid, observing that the home had upscale renovation choices. We rented this a year in advance for Cal Poly graduation. We could not have selected a better choice to be removed from the SLO traffic congestion, and enjoy our peaceful gem on the beach or just relaxing have a cup of coffee, watching the waves. Beyond amazing and we will be back soon.

I really cannot say enough good things about this place and the host Joanne! My sister and i booked this as a birthday weekend for our husbands and it was wonderful! She even left birthday cards waiting for them on the dining table! The home is beautiful, comfortable and easy walking distance to downtown Cauyucos! She even made many recommendations for the surrounding areas as well. We all found the beds very comfortable and the home very well stocked for all our cooking needs. The back deck is a beautiful place to spend time relaxing and we spent much of our time out there! The tv is downstairs and I am happy to report that because of all that we were able to do and go see and the beautiful deck we didn’t watch one minute of it! We will definitely be returning and hoping this will become a frequent place we visit!

We had a lovely stay for our sons graduation. The home is very comfortable and clean. The beds were very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the outdoor patio, very peaceful. Easy walk to Morro Strand beach. Quiet neighborhood. Sylvia was very easy to communicate with and very flexible. We come to SLO/ morro frequently and will definitely stay here again!

After moving to Orlando from California last year, I have missed the Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, and SLO areas more than any other place in my home state. I am so happy to have found such a truly wonderful spot with Aaron’s cozy yellow cottage! From gorgeous views to wonderful amenities to a perfect location so close to the AG Village, you truly cannot beat this place. The kitchen was an especially fantastic part of the house, as it was stocked with anything and everything we needed during our stay! Aaron was incredibly communicative and friendly from our very first to our very last interaction. I will stay here every time I am in the area in the future as long as it’s available, because I truly felt so at home. Thank you Aaron for providing such a clean, quaint, and quiet space for my parents and I to stay while we were in town for my sister’s graduation from Cal Poly! We cannot wait to be back!

The cottage is located in a private, peaceful area with lots of birds flying around and a fantastic view. Kitchen amenities, particularly sharp knives, and ample cookware were available. We found a wok in the cabinet where one of our friends could practice his wok tossing skills. Beds were firm and very comfortable. Grocery store, Pioneer Market, is a short drive away. It was a very enjoyable visit.

Our stay was amazing. The house was easy to find and the instructions were very detailed. Parking was great the whole time but we were there before peak season. The location is unbeatable, perfect for going to and fro from the beach and the restaurants. The space was very inviting and clean. We had everything we needed and more, including beach toys and laundry detergent! We would definitely visit again.
