Our home is located in historic Louisa County in Central Virginia on a five-acre wooded lot facing the South Anna River. Richmond is 30 minutes away and Charlottesville is less than an hour. The entire lower level of our home is used for the Airbnb. (We live in the upper level.) The decor is "homey" with some personal items. Children, pets, and smoking are not allowed. The internet is fast and cell phones work with WiFi calling. Food deliveries are not available due to our remote location.

I've been on 10 total airBnb trips & this one was the best! This space was private, quiet, and gorgeous. Very roomy for 2 people. It made for the perfect getaway for a birthday trip. Shoshannah is a helpful & friendly host. Do not hesitate to book this place! Also, the retro fridge is so cute & it is a lot bigger in person!

Wendy was one of the best hosts I’ve ever interacted with on Airbnb. She was so friendly, helpful and felt like she was a family friend the way she wanted to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even offered to have a little campfire lit so we could make s’mores with the kit they have supplied. The house also had literally everything we could have possibly needed. It was so nice to feel like I was home in the fully supplied, welcoming kitchen, comfortable, cozy bedrooms and bathrooms with everything you could need and more. Wendy was also so easy to get in touch with. We had some flight delays coming in and ended up checking in around 11pm but Wendy made sure we got in ok and was responding to messages even late at night to make sure we were ok and comfortable. The best experience. I can’t recommend Wendy and chicory cottage enough. Thank you thank you!

120' Private Beach/Dock, Pickleball, Basketball

This is by far the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. This is the first time the Airbnb was better in person than in the photos! There’s an actual Nintendo arcade in the basement! The views of the lake and the lake itself is amazing, warm, and welcoming! Basketball hoop top tier quality. They provided great kayaks and fun outdoor games. They also provided other useful items like coffee grounds, coffee beans, and k-cups and a lot of different seasonings to cook with! A few notes: The grass in the backyard was mid-calf high so it would’ve been nice if it was cut shorter for better use. The beach area had less sand than expected and we needed to re-shape it before using it. Inconsistent checkout directions from the listing site, the in-house book instructions, and what the host sent. We had to run and unload the dishwasher which is a first and seems that should be included in cleaning fee. There were a lot of small insects around windows but I believe that’s expected based on location.
