Magical cabin with amazing views

100 year old , freshly renovated cabin that is in the middle of five 100 year old apple trees with incredible Mountain View’s. The cabin sits 100ft uphill from my 1842 brick farmhouse and is surrounded by apples trees, an ancient elm tree, fields and my berry patches. The huge deck has a dining table, lots of seating and and outdoor shower. Off the side of the deck are two claw foot bathtubs with hot and cold water for you to soak in. Note, tubs aren’t usable during the freezing months.

The guestroom room is very cozy with radiant heat in the floor during the winter. The separate entrance is off a covered porch. The porch has chairs and a table and is very pleasant in the warmer months The little kitchen alcove is convenient for coffee or tea or a light meal. We live in a historic building and our neighborhood is located very close to Rte 100. Waterbury village and Stowe as well as skiing, hiking and biking are all nearby.

Stunning historic Vermont farmhouse

We were a group of 10 friends and had an epic weekend at Melissa's place, getting snowed in on our final day and extending our stay at the last minute. Melissa and Nat were super pro-active about helping us plan ahead for our snow day, and this Airbnb was the IDEAL spot to get snowed in. There's space for quiet alone time, and most people had their own rooms. The kitchen and living room were really spacious and well set up for socializing. The renovation is simply gorgeous, with lots of homey and thoughtful touches. And with the amazing Nordic skiing trails at Craftsbury, we felt we'd died and gone to heaven. (Note for folks planning a trip in winter -- the property is on an unpaved road, so AWD and snow tires can be extra reassuring when there's snow in the forecast. The roads were plowed very promptly by the town.) I've never stayed in an Airbnb that was so perfectly designed to host a large group so comfortably. We're certainly planning to come back!!

We loved staying at the caterpillar house! We only stayed one night as it was our first stop on a 2 week road trip of the east coast. The home was absolutely adorable, incredibly well designed, and spotless! Check in was a breeze, even tho we got there late at night. Definitely would return and would recommend this tiny home to anyone traveling in the area!

This was the nicest place of the many airbnbs we've stayed at. Lydia and Charlie were helpful and made us feel right at home. As carpenters ourselves we appreciated their high-quality work. The place is clean, super-insulated and quiet, with a very quiet heat/ac mini-split unit. We would definitely stay there again.
