Mountain Views and Starry Skies in the Countryside

Come enjoy the quiet of the country, only 15 minutes south of town. Stunning views of the La Plata Mountains and dark night skies for great star-gazing! Nice area for cycling and walking. Many of our neighbors have donkeys, horses, llamas and goats, chicken and sheep. No cigarette smoking but we are 420 friendly (outside only please!). We are a safe place for women travelers. There is a very friendly Labrador Retriever and a Basset Hound that live on this property but not allowed in the apt.

Staying in a Strawbale home is a special experience! The thick adobe walls create a cozy and warm feeling that a traditional stick built home just can’t. We are close to the airport and hospital in the southern agricultural area of town. Beautiful views, simple living and comfort in this adorable custom apartment will have you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! There are pets on the property and neighboring ranches galore. The apartment is very private, with ample parking; trailers welcome.

The fire pit and the hot tub increase the enjoyment the evenings under the stars. If you want to leave, Aztec is 10 minutes or Durango only 30. Tico Time is 10 minutes. House is stocked with condiments, spices, coffee, a pancake breakfast, wifi, cozy couch and loveseat, smart TV, queen bed, full bed and peaceful surroundings!
