The Thiérache is a beautiful region in the North of France (Picardie) where mass tourism has not penetrated. Where you can swim in a natural lake and go grocery shopping in a town 20 minutes drive from the house. The fortified churches the cities of Laon, Charleville-Mezieres, Guise and Reims with its Champagne houses and the glass, textile museum are worth a visit.
