Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Connacht

Tigh Aine is a fabulous traditional Irish cottage where my husband and I based ourselves for three nights to explore North Mayo. Beatrice and Brendan have thought of everything in this gorgeous cottage, we were so comfortable during our stay, thank you. Super fast WiFi allowed us to work remotely too which was a bonus. We will definitely look at returning soon.

I can’t say enough about Tommy’s place!! Beautiful views, peaceful. The house was immaculate, spacious, and the beds comfortable. Tommy was an amazing host and shared so much knowledge of what to do and where to eat. Maggie May’s and Ken’s Oriental were delicious.

What a beautiful home, and it truly felt like home. The views are absolutely stunning—imagine seeing a 3,000 year old stone fort while washing dishes and the ever changing colored sea right out the front windows. Bernie is the perfect host and her communication is instant. We hope to return!

What a unique and fun stay we had at the Wild Atlantic Bus! Richard was so lovely and gave us a warm welcome. The bus was private, very clean and so comfortable. The outdoor shower was a favorite for all of us with the endless hot water and beautiful views. We cooked breakfast each day in the kitchen and explored the surrounding areas the rest of the day. Our final dinner in Ireland was at Powers and was our favorite of the trip. Delicious and the best service. Would love to come back!

A fantastic location with views in every direction, each very special and therefore never boring. A good starting point for several (hiking) tours. Get tips on this, too. Sun (if you shine) from morning to evening at or in the house. We have already decided after a few days that we want to come back next year. To relax and unwind one of the best accommodations I know. And don't worry about the driveway, is really absolutely doable and does not require a special car or a special driver.

Absolutely stunning location. We really enjoyed every aspect of this home. Our kids had a great time at the local beaches and caves and we thoroughly enjoyed the scenic drives and the beautiful waterfall close by. Thank you for hosting us ❤️

We had a lovely stay at this cozy and thoughtfully designed flat. The space was super comfortable, and everything felt well-planned – from the kitchen, which had everything we needed to cook proper meals, to the modern shower. The private terrace was definitely a highlight – perfect for relaxing with a tea, surrounded by nature. Just a few things to keep in mind: the location is quite rural, which adds to the charm, but it does mean navigating some narrow roads to get there. Also, like many countryside spots, you’ll want to keep the windows if you’re not a fan of flies and mosquitos. Overall, a wonderful, peaceful place to unwind – we’d happily come back!

I can not say enough about my family’s visit with Michael at Nanny Murphy’s cottage! This was a special visit for me as I always wanted to stay in a thatched roof cottage like the ones my grandparents left behind when they immigrated about one hundred years ago to the United States. Certainly, upgraded from my grandparents’ cottages, Nanny Murphy’s cottage did not disappoint with a rustic theme blending the old with the new, in a peaceful rural setting. My family had several hearty meals around the table in front of a warm peat & wood fire and slept well after several full days of activities throughout the area. Michael is a terrific host who guided us to the farmer’s market in Carrick-on-Shannon, small pubs with local hospitality and great Irish music, The Shed distillery in Drumshanbo, a visit to Sligo and Yeats country, and a hike in Knocknarea, amongst visiting other sights. We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Marie's very much! Could have stayed longer. Everything was clean, the beds very comfortable. It's a little ways outside of Westport so it's a perfect combination of quiet and peaceful but still with plenty to do close by. We spent lots of time in the living room just enjoying the amazing view. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. Hopefully we can stay again one day!

Stephanie's place was excellent! Great location; it was close to everything but still quiet. The place the very clean and Stephanie answered all of our questions fast and effectively. We would 100% stay here again!!

The weather was bad, and our host warned us that the accommodation was free an hour earlier. A big thank you to him for this follow-up and the welcome. The studio is peaceful, very close to restaurants and shops. The town of Clifden is close (30 min drive) to many tourist attractions. The discovery of Connemara while staying in Clifden was very pleasant.

What can I say, it is a wonderful property, the views are spectacular. Very comfortable bed. Mary was so warm and welcoming, made us feel right at home. We enjoyed sitting looking out at the wonderful view, seeing the lights across Lough Corrib, I’m sure that image will stay with us for a very long time. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Sean & Susan were wonderful hosts. We stayed the month of April and enjoyed every minute. The flat is so close to everything whether by foot or vehicle and a great base for exploring Northern Ireland. We highly recommend this flat and the town of Enniskillen. Thank you again Sean & Susan xx

Irish hospitality at its best. Our hosts were lovely, bringing us freshly laid eggs most days and usually around at the end of the day for a friendly chat. The location was great, we loved our evening strolls along the beach. We hope to return someday.

Such an interesting and comfortable property, in a wonderful location. Hard to describe to do it justice. There were twelve in our group, at no time did we ever feel crowded or short of facilities. On site, Sarah, Nigel and their two dogs were very welcoming and friendly, always there to help and offer great advice. We had a wonderful and very memorable five nights at Letterdyfe House and the lovely village of Royndstone.

Our stay was fantastic. The house was wonderful, nicely designed with lots of space. The beds were comfortable & the bedrooms had ample space. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies & the kitchen table was big enough for a large crowd Deidre was so very helpful & kind. She helped us with securing transportation to Galway one day. She gave us tons of suggestions for activities & restaurants. The house was perfect.

Carola was great in all the communication. The house was perfect for our family with 5 children of different ages. Toys and books and enough spaces for each to chill. Lovely outside space and inside all available that you may need. Would certainly come back

Beautiful, peaceful home in pristine surroundings. Plenty of room to spread out with our group of 8. The child in our party was delighted by the playground by the lake-zip line, swings, treehouse and trampoline. The weather was cool and rainy and Adrian supplied us with plenty of wood to keep the fire blazing. The house is modern yet cozy and the kitchen well supplied.

Located in a private forest, Finola's estate is a living history. It's my first time staying in such an old building. A quiet country road takes us into the woods, then the fountain welcomed us, just like entering an elegant Victorian film. The house is equipped with all modern facilities and even a bathtub. The first day, the wifi was not functioning, but Finola helped promptly. Minor flaws: the cups were not cleanly washed, and providing toiletries would make it even more perfect.

What a beautiful place to stay in. The house is stunning and really has the wow factor when you walked in. Susan was super helpful and friendly throughout the full booking process and whilst we were in Ireland. We would 100% stay there again and hope to make it a regular holiday spot for our family. Highly recommend goosers pub on the other side of the river.
