The Bunkhouse Loft / Private Room #6 is the private space (the entire upper level of the hostel), SLEEPS UP TO 6 GUESTS. It has a queen size bed in a semi-private room and two sets of bunk beds in the main room. There is a half bath and a kitchenette area with microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, sofa and chair. Showers are located on the lower level of the hostel along with the main kitchenette. A wooded view with a king bed, microwave, mini fridge, Smart TV, telephone, and coffeemaker. Wifi provided. A short walk around our building and you can enjoy our large grassy grounds and ledge rock Lake Superior shoreline. Note there is no view of Lake Superior from this room, and this room is located next to the office.

Entire Saganaga Lodge!

We had a wonderful stay at Sag Lodge. Jessica, the caretaker, was very responsive when we had any questions or concerns. The lake in front of the cabin is just stunning with a private dock for easy access. We were able to see so many loons during our stay out on the water. Wonderful canoes for use, the sauna was excellent, and the set up of the rooms and living room/big deck worked well for our group. One thing to be aware of, the lodge is next door to a public boat launch, so it is not as private as some homes on the water, but still plenty beautiful and serene. Overall, highly recommend this spot!

Loved our stay here! The location is PERFECT if you're wanting to do anything in downtown; you can walk anywhere, and looking over the lake was an incredible way to wind down! We did think the photos made the rooms look bigger than they were, but that's so minor. Just feels worth noting. :) The hosts were incredible responsive whenever we had questions, and booking their spot was very easy. There was a little hiccup when we booked, but they got it all sorted out right away. Highly recommend! We want to come back and try all of their rooms!

We loved our stay at The Mayhew! The place is comfortable like it’s someone’s home, it’s got all the amenities you could ask for in a vacation rental (plus the fun extras like a rooftop deck and outdoor fireplace in common areas), and the location is unbeatable for easy access to shops, restaurants, and things to do. We would absolutely stay at The Mayhew again!

Our family of 4 had an absolutely lovely two-nights stay here. The photos do not do it justice. All the furniture felt upscale, sturdy and comfortable. The entire place was so well designed. Every little thing from the colorful dishes to the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers in the shower added to the aesthetic. I loved the two-story private unit that we rented — it had its own private balcony/deck area off the top floor, where we enjoyed sunrise views of Lake Superior. But the entire Mayhew Inn is so fun. Communal places to sit in front of a fire or hangout with board games. All the local spots (including grocery stores) are easily walkable. We also went hiking in Cascade State Park (about 10-15 minutes away) and there were many waterfalls!

Had a work trip in Grand Marais and brought along my wife and our baby. This place was great!! Definitely will be coming back. Very clean and great location. Highly recommend staying here compared to the other places.
