Delightful barn, Sissinghurst Kent

GarryRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place exceeded our expectations and was even better than the pictures. Could be tricky to spot the entrance from the road, but the instructions were clear. Key box was easy to use. We immediately felt at home. The beds were really comfortable with lovely clean linen and fresh towels. The upstairs was stunning and photos cannot do it justice. The whole barn conversion was done to such a high standard. It was a warm weekend so we did not need to use the heat pump heating, but I can imagine it’s very effective. Eating out on the Friday night, we really liked “Jumeria” Indian restaurant in Cranbrook (note: town has free parking) and “The George” (lovely Haddock and Chips) on Saturday night. We visited the nearby Hartley farm shop (wow what a place, all the food looked stunning) and Sissinghurst House & Gardens which was an absolutely lovely National Trust place nearby and we ate afterwards at the “Rose and Crown” at Pluckley (superb Sunday Roast). Thanks Susanna, we loved your place.

The Barn, Staplehurst: Detached rural property

VictoriaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our weekend stay at Natasha’s barn was simply wonderful! The photos do not do it justice - it was beautiful and provided the calm and peace we needed for a short getaway. Natasha was so friendly and responsive and provided us with information on the local area which was helpful. We booked the barn as we were doing a tasting tour at the local Balfour Winery and Natasha’s place was perfectly situated just a short walk away. We loved our stay and will certainly be booking again in the future. Many thanks Natasha.

The Stable, Tollgate Farm

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - location suitable for our dog as very peaceful rural setting. The kitchen was also well stocked and the lounge comfortable. Also ideally situated to visit local National Trust properties in this part of Kent - information regarding local pubs shops etc very helpful - we would consider returning .

Bluebell Shepherd's Hut

KarenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Sian makes you feel welcome from once you have booked with a welcome pack before we arrived On arrival to the beautiful shepherd hunt there was fresh milk, juice, tea, coffee and home baked cake. The shepherd hunt was comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. Outside there was the very clean separate hot shower and compost toilet with clear instructions to use. In the evening we lit the fire pit to sit outside to enjoy the view and sunset Our dog loved having the enclosed outside space as well as the beautiful walks we went on. Great place to stay 😀

The Studio

HeatherRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Tanja's place needs 6 Stars! The studio is perfect for one and cozy for two. The space is well thought out and there's everything you need. The log fire is a bonus on colder days. There are beautiful walks up the byway and across the fields into Biddenden or you can cycle along the quieter roads if you plan carefully. Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Hole Park and other beautiful gardens are all easily reached as well as pretty towns such as Tenterden, Rye and Cranbrook. Headcorn has a rail station with trains to London, Canterbury, Dover. There's a reliable bus service to Headcorn from Biddenden. Corner shop in Biddenden but nearest supermarket is in Tenterden. There's so much to see and do and after a busy day, the Studio is wonderful to come back to. It's also private and not overlooked but Tanja and partner are welcoming and very helpful if needed. I had an amazing 2 month stay and was sad to leave. Lovely people and lovely place. You can't go wrong with The Studio.

Sissinghurst Shepherds Hut Pip farm retreat

LouiseRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We thought the place was perfect. Nothing beats opening your door in the morning to lambs gambolling around or going to sleep to total darkness listening to the hoots of an owl. Plus, the huts were easy to find. Great location. Beautiful village nearby. Peter was an impeccable host. We ordered eggs and cherry juice, which are from the farm and so delicious we bought four bottles home with us. We will definitely be back.
