Welcome to the Nuthatch, a cozy cabin in the woods outside Fairbanks. This dog-friendly little cabin is just 7 miles from town but surrounded by the boreal forest. This is glamping at its best, a solid roof, warm place, bed, WiFi, and tv. This is a “dry” cabin, with an outhouse but no running water (no shower. Look out for wildlife and northern lights or roast a s’more over the campfire. If you have more guests, there is an additional cabin on the property "Come Visit the Warbler", holds four.

We just built this modern Alaskan apartment thinking in giving the max comfort and experience to our guests. Enjoy a relaxing jetted tub with custom tile shower surround. Get cozy on the reclining leather couch watching a movie on the HD tv. Sleep comfortably on the memory foam king bed. Close to the airport, UAF, restaurants, trails, stores and tourist attractions. Washer and dryer in unit! We provide some breakfast items like instant oatmeal, pancake mix, tea and coffee.

WARNING: This cabin is OFF-GRID and DRY. If you dont know what that means, dont fear, I will explain! Aurora Outpost is located on a private 100 acre homestead just 7 minutes from Fairbanks and 5 minutes from Fox, AK. There is NO electricity, lighting is provided by warm lanterns. There is NO plumbing, but there is a small water system and outhouse. I am also available 24/7 to answer any questions about the features of the cabin or to help guests enjoy the cabin to its fullest!

This little log cabin gives guests an authentic Alaskan experience of "damp" (running water at the sink, heated outhouse, no shower) cabin living with all the creature comforts in a cozy spot nestled in the woods. It's close to town, but far enough away to see auroras in the dark winter skies. Close to trails and local entertainment and food, but you just might see a moose walk by.
