Cosy little cottage in Shaftesbury

My cottage is tucked away in a little lane by Shaftesbury hospital. It’s very near to the site of the historic Shaftesbury Abbey, Park Walk with its lovely rolling views over the Dorset countryside. Gold Hill - made famous by the much loved 1970s Hovis Bread TV commercial is within a short walk away. The cottage makes an excellent base from which to explore the borders of beautiful Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset, where the countryside, walking, cycling and dining out opportunities are fantastic.

Gold Hill Cottage Coach House

The Coach House at Gold Hill Cottage is a beautifully converted hideaway right at the foot of iconic Gold Hill. It is comfortable, spacious, stylish and light with pictures, pottery and plants adding lots of character. The kitchen is well equipped and there are pubs and restaurants with takeaways nearby. The Coach House is tucked away in a quiet location with lovely views over a shared garden and countryside. The town centre, with excellent shops and views, is 5 minutes walk, just up the hill.

Entire cottage to yourselves. Light and airy accommodation on one floor. Cosy and comfy sitting area (Freeview TV), WIFI. fully fitted kitchen, bedroom (Kingsize bed), shower room and dressing room. Direct access via French doors to a pretty garden. Parking is on the lane outside. Perfect for a weekend or mid-week getaway. Little Coombe

Little Coombe welcomes all couples, lone travellers and fellow pooches. Little Coombe is a totally self-contained cottage attached to the main cottage, where the owner lives. It is a tranquil stone cottage sitting by the brook in a small hamlet near Shaftesbury. The cottage was formerly two thatched farm cottages and where our family has lived for nearly 100 years! We live next door in the main cottage, but guests will have their own entrance and garden space and their privacy is guaranteed.

Lakeside Cottage - at Incombe Farm

Really comfortable and warm converted stables next to our main house but with privacy, standing in idyllic private valley. Less than 2 miles from Shaftesbury. The cottage overlooks our small lake (about 1/2 acre). Peaceful countryside with buzzards, woodpeckers, a barn owl, ducks, pheasants, deer and even otters. See them at your breakfast table or in our indoor/outdoor veranda with circular table and overhead heater. Well behaved small / medium dogs only - strictly by prior agreement.

A converted barn at Cann Common next to the main house with its own garden, patio and parking area. Located on a no-through road with only local residents traffic, giving a peaceful setting with views of the surrounding hills. Shaftesbury just over a mile with its historic Gold Hill and a good choice of shops and places to eat. It is a good base for exploring the area, offering historic houses, interesting gardens, walks, the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath and much more.

The Vintage Hideaway

The vintage hideaway is a self contained annexe attached to my house. It is light and comfortable, it has a bedroom with sofa, kitchenette with small oven/grill and two hotplates ,fridge, freezer and microwave and a shower room. Access from the bedroom to a seating area on the deck ,over looking an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house is close to lovely walks and the historic town of Shaftesbury with a variety of cafes , individual shops and pubs, and of course Gold Hill.

This recent 2021 conversion has been lovingly thought out . Situated just 5 minutes from the famous Gold hill , and 15 Minutes from the A303. Its the perfect spot for a few days of relaxation, or a stop over to break up the drive . Shaftesbury high street has to offer a range of cafes, restaurants and boutique clothes and house ware shops .Thursday morning there is a country market were you'll find home-grown seasonal produce, baked goods a butchers and fishmongers.
