Chalet holiday rentals in French Broad River

We were scheduled to stay at this house for a week, but due to Hurricane Helene, we had to evacuate after three days. For the time we were there, the house was very nice and we greatly enjoyed the large living room area. That was definitely the highlight of the home. We would have liked to explore the area more and utilize some of their recommendations, but unfortunately, that was not possible. Would recommend the house to people looking for a large area for people to gather and talk.

My husband and myself came to town for a standup comedy show at Hardrock Live. We also wanted to stay in a place that was secluded, quiet, private, and would allow us some peace and quality time together as it was our first trip away since kids. Shana’s place did not disappoint. We got all of the things above! We enjoyed the soaker jet tub, time on the deck nestled in the trees, and watching the deer and squirrel. We will definitely be returning as we come for future events or when we simply want to get away.

We would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends. I love that the place is very private. There was plenty of room for me and my husband and our four teenagers. It was close to Helen.

The host was friendly and helpful. When hairdryer didn’t work he was quick to replace it. Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the deer in the woods. The chalet was comfortable and cozy. It has everything you would need and more. The only drawback for me was going upstairs to the kitchen and the gravel pathway, I couldn’t roll my heavy suitcase into the chalet. With that being said I would definitely recommend to my friends, family and others as a place to stay.

absolutely amazing. Beautiful place, we had a great stay. Lisa was super helpful and great communication considering it was last minute. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

My friends and I enjoyed our weekend getaway at The Runaway Chalet. The driveway was a little tricky due to recent snowfall, but April suggested an alternative approach to enter driveway. We plan to return next year!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Snookery! Very spacious and everything was very clean. It’s very peaceful & private, although had no problems getting an Uber/Lyft out there to take us to town. We did find it made it easier by scheduling a pick up time well in advance. Aaron was extremely responsive and does a great job of providing information and details. Highly recommend The Snookery!

Our stay at this Airbnb was absolutely fantastic — one of the best we’ve ever experienced! The communication was prompt, the price very reasonable, and the home was incredibly well-stocked — easily the best-equipped Airbnb we’ve stayed in. We loved using both the electric and charcoal grills, and the deck with its stunning views of Grandfather Mountain was a highlight. The location is private yet minutes from Banner Elk stores and restaurants. We enjoyed walking the peaceful nearby roads and playing games from the huge collection, especially Azul. The arcade and air hockey downstairs would be perfect for families. Great A/C, comfy beds, strong water pressure, fast Wi-Fi — everything was spot on. Truly a 5-star stay!

Tom’s place is an excellent option for large groups or families. Located right along the French Broad River overlooking the northern extent of the Biltmore Estate, this place offers good views, very comfortable accommodations, and plenty to do both within the AirBnb and nearby. We were just a short distance from all Asheville has to offer, making getting to and from a breeze, even with a group of 10. If you’re looking for a sizable location for a weekend away, check out Tom’s place.

An absolutely gorgeous modern home in the mountains that presents even better than the pictures. The home is immaculate inside and out with breathtaking views. Kevin is easy to work with and very responsive. If you are planning to explore the breweries around Asheville, I would highly recommend a designated driver rather than booking a rideshare. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Rhododendron Ridge and would recommend to anyone, truly a 5 star property.

We stayed as a group of 8 adults and 4 kids for 2 nights and absolutely loved it.The kids went crazy over the game room and adults over th home theatre.The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and everything functional. We couldn't find the switch to the porch lights but didn't matter since we preferred to chill inside. Decently close to Gatlinburg which meant evening trips weren't much of a hassle. We would recommend this place since it has the best views from every part of the house.

We loved our stay at the chalet!! A short drive into Gatlinburg or GSMNP but felt away from it all. Very steep and windy roads to get there, but you get used to it!

We took our family here for a vacation which we do every few years and I couldn’t have been more pleased with everything. The house was everything we expected it to be and the views are AMAZING! We have stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s and I can honestly say Andrew’s responsiveness was the best I have ever encountered. Would highly recommend this location to anyone!

Family reunion with 4 kids, 5 adults from out of state. Cabin was beautiful and fit our group well with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Kids enjoyed the games provided, adults enjoyed the hot tub and all enjoyed the fire pit one night also. Cabin is very clean and had alot of space for our meals, with more than enough plates, cups and silverware. Coffee was provided, and even Qtips, and extra toothbrushes! Amanda was great at responding and quick too! Drive is steep and narrow but we are used to that and anticipate due to the views expected. Views are beautiful and can be enjoyed with or without screened porch. Thanks for sharing your property!

We could not get over how amazing this place was, highly recommend!! Still can't get over how luxurious this house was

This cottage was exactly as described and all that we had hoped for. It was spotlessly clean and had everything that you need to just stay in and enjoy the view of the water, marina and surrounding hills from the covered porch. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there were extra towels and blankets and pillows if needed. Or we could walk down to the dock to fish or just sit on the benches by the water.

Lee's house was better than expected! Clean and comfortable. Fishing was fantastic and so was the water. Sunset and sunrises from the dock were beautiful. Would definitely stay again.

Chalet was as described. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. Very clean and well equipped. Just wish there was water in the lake! Next time.

This Airbnb is wonderful! You have everything you need to feel right at home and an amazing welcome gift. The laundry detergent and softener was an added bonus. Sitting on the screened in porch and watching the river at night was wonderful! Scott was very helpful when I had questions and fast to respond! Only complaint I had was wet towels in the washer and we didn’t find them tell our last night. Definitely will be staying here again!

A great place to stay if you're a senior, comfortable king bed, large bathroom with shower head, and room for shower chair, 2 recliners, nice back porch, beautiful view, and a short walk to dock at the lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

My family enjoyed our stay at the chalet and the gorgeous views of the lake and mountains. Our hosts provided everything you could need for a vacation at the lake, and it was quiet and peaceful but close enough to the action. Unfortunately the flooding from Hurricane Helene prevented us from swimming or kayaking but we enjoyed the property and it was not far from the activity on the Parkway. We hope to return to enjoy the lake with friends next summer!

always a nice stay at Lake Watauga, Karen's place is clean and comfortable, lots of stairs down to the dock but we don't mind, very private cove to enjoy
