The small town of Friedberg is romantically situated on a hill and is always worth a visit. The train station (Augsburg-Hochzoll) can be reached on foot in 15 minutes, from where you can quickly reach Augsburg, Munich or the Allgäu. Culturally, there is plenty to explore. My place is in a quiet residential area in the Hammerschmiede. The Augsburg city centre (Rathausplatz) is about 4.5 km away and can be reached by car in about 15 minutes. A public bus connection is close by. The A8 motorway connection (Munich-Stuttgart) is only 2.6 km away. There are many family-friendly activities on offer (zoo, Augsburg doll box, etc.). My place is good for couples, solo travelers, adventurers and business travelers.
