The Cottage at Portland House

LauraRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We had such a fantastic stay,. we stayed here as we were visiting the safari Park. it was a ten minute drive which was great. The cottage itself was perfect. it was cosy, clean and perfectly sized... infact we even joked.about staying and not going home to work! The kids had a great time (I think the noise from them showed how excited they were) They settled well and had a great time! The dogs coming to say hi was a nice little welcome too! Paul was great, and didn't rush us out upon checkout and was at hand if we needed anything! We had a great stay and I'd 100% recommend your cottage to anyone. Thanks so much!

The garden cottage at The Glebe

Gemma was extremely helpful from the point of booking, communicating well throughout and sending detailed instructions of how to find the house. She also provided a gorgeous hamper on our arrival with lots of treats tailored to our party. The house itself was beautifully decorated and pristine throughout. There is a very well equipped kitchen with everything you would need including a coffee machine. Surroundings were really peaceful and the view from the house was amazing. We stayed for one night though wish we had booked for longer and had a lovely evening relaxing in the hot tub. Wood was provided for the fire pit which was a nice touch though we didn't use this during our stay. We would love to return and would highly recommend for a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings.

The Roost - Escape from it all!

CarolynRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We stayed over Christmas and New Year which was quite cold outside but it was always snug and cosy inside. Everything you could possibly want was provided. The location was peaceful and there is lots to do, although our main reason for choosing it was the proximity to our relatives. Louise is a great host and very attentive. Rou and Pee Wee the retired sheep dogs came to say hello each morning and Pee Wee was so good natured when Louise’s 18 month daughter insisted on having him on a lead. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to friends.

The Hoot House ( tawny owls live nearby )

AndyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Charles' charming Airbnb in the quiet countryside, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment the booking was confirmed, Charles was a friendly and accommodating host, answering all our questions and making us feel right at home. The location is perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The tranquility of the countryside was exactly what we needed, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area. One of the highlights was the local pub, which offered a warm atmosphere and great food, just a short walk/drive away. The property itself is fantastic, secluded away in the countryside. The tennis courts were in excellent condition, and we had a great time playing. Additionally, there was a variety of games available, which kept us entertained during our downtime. Really enjoyed our stay and seriously considering a return visit next year.

Cottage was well equipped, very peaceful and private. Mary kindly provided an air conditioning unit and fan as the weather was very hot. Great Sunday lunch in pub in the village. Mary was very helpful.
