A special self catering cottage

JonRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Our stay with two adults, a 4 year old and a newborn went very well. Gary and Shona were very accommodating and flexible with our plans. We're were delighted with what we saw when entering. We were warmly welcomed by Shona on arrival to ensure we had everything we needed (we did). The place was absolutely pristine, with a countless little and thoughtful details that made our stay even more comfortable. There was an issue with the Internet dropping out but I believe Gary has a plan to resolve this. Also be aware of the very long (about a mile), unmade track leading up to the property. It's perfectly passable but you'll want to take it nice and easy in your vehicle. They regularly sent messages to check that things were all okay. It felt like just the right amount of communication. We enjoyed our privacy whilst not feeling isolated. We'd be very happy to stay here again in the future. Thank you.

15th Century Cottage in Central Lewes

RossRating, 5 stars5 days ago
This beautifully preserved historic cottage is perfectly situated in the heart of Lewes with easy walking access to the town center. The property is immaculately clean and thoughtfully designed, filled with fascinating historical conservation that really bring the building’s rich past to life. We especially loved the peaceful setting - while centrally located, it feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The back windows offer lovely hillside views and we woke each morning to wonderful birdsong. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area and experiencing a piece of authentic local history. Highly recommended for anyone looking for character, comfort, and convenience in Lewes!

Kenningham

The property is an ingeniously and carefully converted garage in the driveway of the owner's house. Not surprisingly, the interior space is quite limited, but certainly adequate for a few days' stay. Although the bed is a pull-out sofa, I found it perfectly comfortable. Cal was friendly and helpful in his communications and the instructions for the property are detailed, clear and well thought out. The location is in a residential street in Lewes — it's a quiet neighbourhood, but there is some through traffic during the daytime. It was ideal for my brief visit to Lewes, with good access to the High Street. Walking to the property from Lewes railway station is straightforward, but is uphill most of the way; so consider taking a taxi if you have luggage with you.
