Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Gond-Pontouvre

A truly unforgettable stay! This private, spacious boathouse was an absolute dream. From the moment we arrived, we were wowed by the unique character and thoughtful design—especially the stunning bolted ceiling that give the space more charm with a touch of grandeur. The bed was comfortable, making every night restful and serene. The bathroom was great with a big walk-in shower, and heated floors were a luxurious bonus we didn’t know we needed! Everything was spot on, blending comfort with a sense of adventure. If you’re looking for a stay that’s both cozy and strikingly unique, this is it!

Spacious accommodation that allows you to be comfortable as a group. Easy communication with the host. Even if it is not more convenient with a car, I can recommend it to guests who would come by train, as several bus lines pass nearby during the day and the journey from central Angoulême is "doable" on foot (45 min), there is a sidewalk by the national highway.

We spent a dream weekend with friends (5 people) in this very beautiful house in absolute quiet in the middle of the vineyards and very well equipped very largely above the average of rentals that stick to the bare essentials. Note the very good welcome from Lucy whose briefing is complete. A real favorite that we recommend.

6 adults and 8 kids in our group. house was as described. very nice new bathrooms (albeit generally without locks!). we had a great time. the house is great for families with teens - pool, bikes, pool table, decent WiFi, nice barbecue area. we did need to clean the barbecue on arrival and fix flat tires on two of the bikes. host was responsive and helpful when one of the group needed to see a dentist urgently. we would happy return. nearby river swimming was a nice alternative to seaside and very pretty. canoeing trip runs by nearby company (located at the river beach) was a highlight.

Cozy house with everything you need, we felt at home. Very nice surroundings and fun for our 2-year-old to see cows, chickens and goats. Perfect with outdoor furniture both in the sun and in a small outdoor room with open doors for hot days. We received a warm welcome and will gladly return.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Melanie's place in Angouleme. Right in the centre of Vieil Angouleme, we were in the heart of things and could walk to most places we wanted to visit. Lots of bars and restaurants. We love the Chat Noir for ice cream. The location is in a lively, historic and fun part of Angouleme. It can be noisy at night on the street side of the house due to the bars and restaurants sometimes staying open late but very quiet on the courtyard side. The house is a very old and characterful house. Nicely restored. Wonderful to have a little courtyard for our own use. Very spacious. Well equipped Kitchen. We were a family party with 3 more elderly family members who did struggle with the original wooden stair case which was not ideal for them. We had to take great care with the stairs as the banisters do not go all the way around the corners. We used the underground public parking nearby which was fine and well maintained. A memorable stay.

It went very well. Super nice to have been able to enjoy the garden with our dog. The accommodation was perfect for us👌, spacious, clean and convenient with beautiful surrounding countryside! We would unreservedly recommend this listing.

Sophie is an amazing host! The cleanliness of the cottage is impeccable. the place is a real haven of peace, the decor is very neat and sublime. (bouquets of fresh roses, dried petals, small welcome gift) Not to mention all the options that this property has. (Jacuzzi nearby, swimming pool, massage, bedroom and bathroom with every comfort) everything is subtly thought out. As soon as we walk through the door , we enter a refined, atypical world. Very nice apartment , tastefully decorated in the center of the village , all the services are nearby . restaurants " la Tuscan" on the doorstep , and a little further "with whims" warm welcome and tasty dishes. Lovely stay with a spacious apartment. Nice and quiet even when you are less than 1km from busy areas. The host was very helpful and friendly and gave us information about different areas around France as we were travelling around for a week. Nice comfortable, clean bed.

Very good stay in this beautiful and AUTHENTIC family home with undeniable charm. We were 4 adults and 2 children 3/4 years old: the children loved playing in the sandpit/bocce court in the garden and the educational farm nearby, we adults we loved the large friendly kitchen and the masterful bathroom with views of the countryside. Small bonus for dishes: what a pleasure to eat on cute vintage plates! The house is very old, so it was a little wet when we arrived (no surprise given the season) but once the fireplace started and the house ventilated, everything was normal. We had a fantastic time here! The house is beautiful, large, clean and well equipped. The host and hostess are super friendly and helpful. They have a very discreet presence on site. The view is truly breathtaking, the area is quiet. You can walk to the village for a bakery and shop. We highly recommend this stay!!

The setting is beautiful, surrounded by vineyards and sunflowers. The local town is 10 mins away, with a market. The property is a lovely old farmhouse, with lots of space and nice furniture, comfortable beds and a refreshing pool. Valerie made us feel very welcomed. A great place to unwind.
