The Cookhouse - Beachside Hannah’s Clearing, Haast

Welcome to "The Cookhouse". Suituated a short 20 minute drive south of Haast, Hannahs Clearing is a small township established in 1962 to house workers the Carters Sawmill. The historic Cookhouse was built to cook for workers at the Mill, which eventually closed in 1979. The house sits in amongst native plantings on the beach side of the road, with access to the beach. The home is warm, cosy and sympathetic to its era. A fabulous getaway no matter the weather, for couples & families

This is a perfect place to unwind and relax listening to the ocean waves and native birds. The Bach provides everything you need for a comfortable stay whether it's for one night, or one week, as you travel the magnificent west coast. The Chalet is located high on Mount Iron and offers magnificent views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountains. Set in trees, it is private and peaceful, accessed by a guest lift which will carry you and your bags up the hill. Driftwood has been lovingly hand built by the owners with artisan touches. Furnished for your comfort with a luxurious King bed. On the deck there's a large 2 person sized hot bath (no jets) with views to the mountains for your relaxation .
