The Briar Barn is on a gorgeous property and the hosts were very welcoming. It’s a great location to explore the highlands and Loch Ness and do a day trip to Isle of Skye. The accommodation was perfect for a family of 4 and would definitely return!

Frances and Angus are super hosts. The cottage is immaculate, quiet and private. It is our 2nd visit and I am sure it won't be the last.

Spend 4 nights at this place, and everything was perfect, house itslef is wonderful place to relax. Moreover, host of this house is very kind and responsive.

we enjoyed the amount of space we had and thought that the house was good value for money. The house was unusual and aesthetically pleasing - this added to our enjoyment of the place. We appreciated that there was a good dishwasher and a wide range of plates and cups. It was good that we had so many books on the bookshelves. We both really enjoyed the deep bath. We were pleased that there was an enclosed area outside where we could play with our dog. We had very tasty fish and chips one night from the shop in Nairn High street which is next to a Chinese take away. Nairn beach was lovely and spacious.

A great spot in a pastoral setting with good value for the money. The only thing I wish they had was WiFi but they were upfront that there wasn’t any before we booked. We had a couple of needs and they went above and beyond to get what we needed. Great communication. Will come back.

Great location for exploring Lewis, only about 3 miles from stornaway. Garage and shop close by. Lovely, warm and cosy accommodation. Friendly host. I would reccommend this accommodation.

It was a beautiful barn converted house - loved our stay, it’s a wee bit remote but the experience was worth it, make sure you carry food with you, we had to drive about 10 miles to get groceries / food

Alastair and Helen provided a 5 star experience for a countryside experience. The cottage was exactly as described. Cozy and comfortable, providing all the amenities required for a relaxing time away. Every attention to detail was made from cozy blankets to local tableware pottery. There was ample space for my dog to wander about and a lovely peaceful walk up through the croft. Tigh Dubh is sincerely a must stay and its accessibility to attractions is excellent. I would certainly rate this cottage as one of my favourite places

Nice and peaceful. A car is required to get around the area. Juliet was kind and communicative. We loved our time in the Highlands and in Fyrish View. Plenty to do in the area - Cromarty was a lovely little seaside town and Dingwall was easy to get to for shopping and railway links. We would stay again.

A fantastic stay in peaceful surroundings. A lovely, cozy home with super comfy sofas in the lounge to crash onto after a day of walking. Kitchen has everything you’d need, and we opted to stay in and cook as a result. Great location too, with a fantastic selection of restaurants just a short drive away.

We’ve stayed at AirBnBs all over the world and Julie’s place was easily the best. The Captain’s Place is what all listings should aspire to. Gorgeous surroundings near and far, Simon and Julie were wonderful hosts, the interior thoughtfully designed, seeing the goats and chickens and waking up to the sound of sheep in the morning, it was like a bucolic dream. Amenities-wise, everything you could ever need was there. I rarely use kitchens during a stay but making a nice small breakfast was easy and delicious (thank you British butter). Slept super soundly each night, each room has adjustable temperature. I only wish we had been able to stay longer to take a slow day or two and enjoy all that the Croft has to offer as well. I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay and frankly I miss it dearly!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The cottage itself was perfect. An upside house which was even better than the photos suggested. It was comfortable and well kitted out. The kitchen and lounge set up was excellent. The bedrooms and bathrooms were ideal for our party. The farm was an amazing place - peacocks, geese, ducks and hens wandering around the pond and grounds. We loved the bistro and shop. They added an extra and welcome dimension to our stay. The whole experience could not be faulted.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautifully renovated cottage in Aberfeldy. The place was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed, with modern appliances and every amenity you could possibly need. The kitchen was especially well-equipped, making it easy and enjoyable to cook during our stay. The surroundings were absolutely stunning — peaceful farmland, open fields with horses, friendly cat, and all the charm of the Aberfeldy area just minutes away. It was the perfect base to explore the region and enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside.

We've just returned from 4 wonderful nights here with our dog & 4 month old baby. Finn was the first baby to stay in the hayloft & i would 100% recommend it to other parents with babies. It's spotless, within walking distance of 2 great lochs & only 5 min drive from Aviemore. Lynne is a super friendly host who is more than happy to help with any requests & give local recommendations plus provided us with a lovely welcome hamper. We will definitely return.

What a treat. Getting to meet and feed these gentle, curious creatures was such a unique experience! The hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming — warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely people who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They’ve created a space that feels both luxurious and deeply relaxing, with so many thoughtful touches. We left feeling completely refreshed and definitely will be back! Thank you

Das Bothy hat uns von der Einrichtung her super gefallen und es war richtig gemütlich und absolut ruhig dort. Der Blick von der Terrasse aus auf den Weiher war wunderbar, wir haben gerne draußen gefrühstückt. Die Umgebung ist für Ruhe liebende Naturliebhaber wie uns wunderbar, da stört auch das nicht vorhandene WLAN nicht und dass man nur draußen Empfang hat. Die Ländereien sind toll, man kann dort lange spazieren gehen und das Schloss ist wunderschön anzusehen. Wir würden sofort wiederkommen.

It was an amazing stay, we loved very much. Everything was there. Very clean and spacious house and also great locations, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. We had a really nice walk everyday. We love to come back again .

We had lovely week at the cottage, it was very comfortable, extremely dog friendly and in a lovely location. Loads to do in the area, beach and forest dog walk galore. Elgin is only 10 minutes away and has a number of large supermarkets and shops. Very enjoyable.

Simpathetically converted malt house in a peaceful setting. Good sized house with absolutely brilliant garden that had plenty space for the dogs to run around. Comfy beds with fresh linen, towels, robes and slippers. Well stocked kitchen with thoughtful welcome gift. Cozy lounge with plenty logs for the burner. Great little study space for those that still have to do a bit of work. Hot tub clean with non-slip rubber mats around it. Unfortunately, more careful attention needed from cleaning team in places, which was disappointing - for the money, perfection expected. Warning for fellow townies - go less than walking pace along the track to prevent the underside of your car getting scraped, unless you drive a land rover. Also, the bins are located at the end of the road, so stinky rubbish needs to go in the car - too far to carry it. We're not precious about our car but our son flatly refused to take it in his new car!

This is hands down the best airbnb my family has stayed at. ..and we have stayed at a lot. This place is magical and absolutely stunning. Our 4 kids had so much fun on the property. We made memories that will last a lifetime here. Beautiful home....very comfortable beds...great kitchen. We can't thank you enough for hosting us and will recommend your place to everyone who is planning a trip to Scotland!

A really great space to relax in with everything we needed. Aileen was lovely and made us feel so welcome. Not far from Skye and so many beautiful places to drive or walk to. My one tip, if you decide to drive over the Applecross pass take care as it’s a white knuckle drive!!!

This was our second trip to The Barn on Skye. We dreamt about coming back as soon as we left last year. We actually planned our entire stay around the cottage availability. The views and location are spectacular- out of a dream. And you’re located right along Brothers Point trail so it’s amazingly convenient. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We stayed with our two children ages 2 and 8 and they loved it as well. We look forward to hopefully staying again next year and making it a tradition for our annual trips to Scotland!! Thank you again for a spectacular stay and memories!!
