Family-friendly holiday rentals in Istro

We have just had the most gorgeous family holiday at Villa Belle Helene . It is the perfect villa equipped to the highest standards both inside and out and exceeded all our expectations. Inside is spacious and all the rooms have excellent air conditioning which was very welcome in the heat. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor areas, especially the pool and jacuzzi which were perfect to cool down in the heat and to enjoy. The sheltered area outside the lounge is perfect for eating and BBQs and the raised outdoor seating area with TV provides the opportunity to unwind in an evening. It is 10 mins walk up to Old Hersonnissus which has a lovely square with Tavernas and bars. Hiring a car is worthwhile to explore the island further but not essential as its easy to book taxis. Eleni and her family are absolutely lovely, they could not be more helpful and made us so welcome. We would absolutely recommend this villa and would love to stay again if we go back to Crete.

We had a very nice stay, the house was so lovely, with everything provided even a cleaning service. Restaurants and beach clubs can be reach by foot (approximately 10 min walk). There is a very nice traditional village near the house with excellent restaurants (approximately 15 min walk). But most of all thank you very much Stefani for everything you were so nice and helpful, really many thanks everything was perfect thanks to you 🙏🏼 ☺️

The house is beautiful (just like the photos) and the pool is awesome — it’s heated just enough to make it enjoyable all day. The space was perfect for my party of 12, plenty of space for everyone. What really makes this place stand out is Celine, who meets guests on arrival. We had a health emergency when we arrived, and Celine was just incredible — driving us to a clinic, helping us get care at the hospital when we had to go there, checking in with us about our child’s health everyday. We are eternally grateful for her!

Very high class Villa, if you are looking for quality accommodation then look no further. My family consisted of 7 adults and an 18 month old, stayed for 8 days. Everyone loved it. There is a great traditional taverna only 10 minutes walk away, a big supermarket 15 mins by car and great beach again just 15 mins by car. We were there in May, spend most of the time around the pool and firing up the fantastic BBQ!

We had a great week of family at the Promachon Villa. The villa is very big and specious, highky maintained very well eqipped. Stella and her husband were really great hosts. They responded very fast to any request we had. The swimming pool is rather big and lovely. The house is located on an isolayed and quiet area 10-12 minutes drive from the city center. On behalf of all 13 members of the Zakay family I would like to thank you Stella for giving us such an incredible family vacation. We would really love to come back again. Ef christo Stella!🙂

For those who want to spend a peaceful holiday, in complete tranquility in a great environment, Delphine's rental is ideal, as well as her very valuable recommendations. the location of the house is particularly well located to visit the East of the ridge... we of course recommend this rental and also thank Georgia and Giannis.

Beautiful appartment with lots of space both inside and outside. Great for a big family with a little older kids. Large supermarket just nearby. The huge pagio is fantastic!

we had a great week at Maria's place. The covered terrace is the most beautiful room in the house with a magnificent view of the sea. The beach is less than 5 minutes' walk away, but beware, for people who have difficulty walking, the slope is rather steep to climb. Maria is very responsive and responds very quickly to messages. Agia Pelagia remains a small seaside resort very well located to visit the north of the island. Beautiful discovery

This villa is beautiful with an amazing pool and breathtaking views.

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It's tucked away in a very secluded spot, which makes it wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, you can reach restaurants and a mini market in just a few minutes. A car is essential! The garden is stunning. The biodiversity is incredible. There's always something new to discover. The house is quite small and simply furnished, but that was absolutely fine. Everything was clean, and that's what matters most. The long driveway leading to the house can be a bit intimidating—it just slopes down without any railing or guard. But that’s just part of the Cretan charm. Giannis was always very friendly and helpful—thank you for everything! We also got to know the neighboring family and even visited them. Such kind people. And the animals! Aphroditi the horse, a peacock, chickens, and turkeys—our daughter loved them. Overall a great experience. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it. Who knows—maybe we’ll be back in a few years!

This was our 4th stay at Giannis' place and as always it was perfect. The property is exactly as pictured and described, so comfortable, with amazing outdoor space and everything you need (great WiFi, smart TV, great shower, plenty of towels and bed linen, etc). The outdoor space is the major selling point, with lots of different relaxing areas, plenty of shade, and a fabulous pool. And stunning views to boot! Agios Myron is a lovely little town: if you go please make sure to visit the local bar, restaurant, bakery and shop, all run by lovely people. Looking forward to returning again next year!

if you want to have it quiet, it is the perfect place, Stella also gave good tips, among other things, a car rental (Tsoukos Rent a Car) which was very helpful for me to explore the surroundings ( several beaches and sights) flexibly. Restaurants, bars etc in the main town of Analipsi can also be reached in a few minutes' walk from the apartment. All in all, I highly recommend the apartment and I would like to book there again and again!

We just loved everything about this airbnb!!!!! The house was AMAZING, incredible views, incredible features, we went to the pool, did barbecue, breakast with ocean view, everything and more we expected! Konstations is THE BEST host we ever got!! Not only he was hiper reactive, attentious ( he made sure to got us on the airport so we arrive well, his mom cooked us food because they would imagine we would arrive late and hungry), incredibly generous and nice!! We have many tips and support during the full trip ! Everything and more that we expected! Thank you again

A lovely stay in this gorgeous flat in the centre of Heraklion. Super close to everything in the City Centre, including the Archaeological Museum and the bus to Knossos Palace. The flat itself was charming and spotless, with a lovely little outdoor patio area. And the hosts were so helpful, really went above and beyond to help us out and make sure there were plenty of recommendations for our stay. If we come back to Heraklion, we'll definitely stay again. The place was simply amazing. Quiet, clean and beautiful. A nice pool and a beautiful big garden made the experience even better. Furthermore, Kostantinos was one of the most hospitable hosts I ‘ve ever had. Always responsive and helpful no matter the time. We would always come back and we recommend the place without any hesitation!

Overall, we felt very comfortable, were always well looked after and the apartment met our expectations. You have to know that in the evening hours one or the other plane also flies to Heraklion. A small supermarket is directly on site and a 2-minute walk away. Otherwise, a quick shopping or eating out by public transport is not so easy without a rental car. By car, everything is no problem in five minutes in a wide selection. The view and the apartment is very good. Swimming on site on foot in five minutes very possible below the apartment. This one was much more generous than expected. Overall, we will be happy to come back.

We felt very good in this environment, beautiful and very peaceful and very quiet. Really very good and it's really what we were looking for. On site there is a restaurant, with of course, Cretan specialties, there is a beautiful swimming pool, and plenty of walking. The sea is 20 km away. It takes a little time to get there because the road has a lot of turns, but we cross beautiful landscapes with olive fields as far as the eye can see The accommodation is very refined and the decoration is beautiful. In short, we spent five really, really, really pleasant days.

We loved staying at Petros's place. The location is picture perfect and completely serene, coupled with the stunning views - perfect getaway gem. The villa is beautifully designed with lots of places to explore and hang out in. Petros is very accommodating and all around helpful from assisting us in setting up the outdoor speakers to offering to make restaurant reservations on our behalf. We had an absolutely amazing time and hope to stay at the villa again when we come back to Crete. Highly recommend!

Nice villa with a beautiful view. Is exactly as advertised, maybe even better. We had a great time. Hills around the villa are really steep, but not too bad.

Evi and Giorgos are very kind people, we had the pleasure to talk with them multiple times and it was always a pleasure to share moments with them. We felt very welcomed and directly home. I recommend it to everyone who wants to visit Creta.

My family had the best time at Alexanderos place. I am a remote worker and so was the perfect quiet environment to work while watching my daughter have a great time in the pool. the house is spotlessly clean, as is the pool and Alexanderos really cares that you are having a good experience. You can tell this buisness means a lot to him. A little ginger and white cat came to visit us every day for 10 min. My daughter is cat crazy and so that little guy made her holiday. If you see him give him a snack 🥰 You need a car to stay here really, but that is part of the beauty of the villa. You're remote, quiet and private. Exactly what we wanted. However if you want to go out, youre 10-15 min drive from some great beach restaurants. I suppose, if you're happy to stay in and relax, you could manage not having a car but we like to get out and about. Overall an absolute excellent place and im so glad we chose Alexanderos' place over other options!

We really enjoyed our stay in Thomais´resort. Thomais did everything to make us feel welcome and welcomed us with homemade cooking and wine. Located on the mountain top the distance to shopping and restaurants is several kilometers, but excellent taxi service solved this so we dropped our plans to rent a car.
