Amazing place to stay in Kyoto! Modern house fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Quiet neighborhood close to the beautiful Kama-gawa and the serene Daitoku-ji. Great location if you’re seeking an authentic residential experience. The building was easy to find, get into, and quiet. The room was clean, spacious and very welcoming. Would stay again.

Has to be 5 Star. Initial findings a little surprising as it is a dated building but it is spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a base. Linen and towels very good. Pillow not so great please consider an upgrade on these! But all facilities you need to make your stay pleasant and successful Wi Wi - has to be mentioned. It wasn’t great - but was fine for basis connections, email and messages just don’t expect to be watching Netflix - I’m advised it is being upgraded. Don’t be put off by the first impression - you cannot do better for the cost which is very good.

I loved my stay with Tanaka San and Machiko San. They are lovely people - very warm, welcoming and kind. The room was perfect and the house is very well connected to the city via bus. Machiko San cooked a wonderful breakfast every morning and Tanaka San gave me tips on where to go/what to visit, he also dropped me to Arayshima one morning. I really recommend staying here - you will receive warm and traditional Japanese hospitality. Thank you and I hope to visit again! 😊
