Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Lake Arenal

This location was great if you want to stay close but not too close to La Fortuna. The house is very private and clean. We highly recommend if you want to stay somewhere peaceful with minimal foot traffic.

Beautiful place in a gorgeous area. Very private and serene. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Didn’t want to leave!

Close to many attractions. Walkable to town but very dark and hilly, but with adult children this was very doable. Town was cute w many souvenir shops, coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants. House very comfortable and spacious.

Casa mariposa is an impeccable home. No words do justice to the location. Wonderful in every way. I plan on returning as soon as possible. Thank you tanyia and rod for opening your gorgeous home to my family. Truly stunning.

What a gem above the clouds of Monteverde! Tobi and his family have created an amazing place to getaway and enjoy the mountains. There was so much wildlife and the accommodations were super comfortable and quiet. Tobi’s family’s restaurant is “Stella’s” (just down the mountain) and it is awesome as well. Tobi had excellent recommendations and connections. He is super helpful and friendly. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. Next time…!

If you are looking to get away and find peace, this is your place. It is a stunning home with a view for days. The drive is challenging, but so worth the effort. Be sure to pick up everything you need before you head up because it's a trek to town. El Tigre Waterfalls is a must and you can't go wrong with any of the ziplines. Put this on your list!

The other reviews are correct. This place is even more beautiful in person. We did not the amount of space, how clean it was, and how luxurious it felt. It was like being in a resort. Even the way its designed was gorgeous. It was 4 adults and 2 kids and we all loved it. The kids especially loved the pool and how low it was and we loved the convenience of the market directly across the street. Also everything is a short taxi ride away. And to top it off, the one day pass at Las Logas Resort was awesome. We spent hours there walking the grounds and enjoying the hotsprings pools!! This is definitely one of the best airbnbs we've stayed at offering so many amenities withing close proximity to downtown and other attractions. Also the host Rebecca was very responsive! Be careful to follow the instructions when checking in because you will be lost. Thanks again Rebecca!

Raquel’s place was amazing! Raquel was very responsive, kind and helpful. The home was great, very clean and cozy. The location is great as well! It’s a 10 minute walk to the grocery store, and a three minute walk to a great restaurant. I highly recommend staying here!

An excellent place, very quiet and good view of the Arenal volcano.

Nice farm stay sorrounded by nature. The villa is OK with basic amenities but the highlight is being in the middle of this organic farm. I loved being lulled by the frogs and being able to watch tons of birds during sunrise. Learning about the herbs and the conservation efforts here was interesting. The pool was refreshing, clean and my kids loved it. Jennifer and her husband were above and beyond on everything making us feel at home.

Juan's place was CLEAN, nice pots, pans, flatware, great fridge, BEAUTIFUL wood ceilings, comfortable couch, beautiful and clean bathroom. The wifi worked very well. Me and my guest were very impressed with the room. It is so clean that you can actually let your children sit and play on the floors. Juan was very accommodating. He kindly helped me by allowing me to do a late check-in. He was very responsive to my needs and questions. He suggested a great location to go eat and the food was good! This room is right near town. Definitely walkable to restaurants, stores, and places of interest in both directions! The cost of this room was well worth it! My only issue: No side tables in the bedrooms. There was nowhere to set my glasses or cell phone before bed time except on the shelf in front of the bed. No lamps in the bedrooms; you have to keep the bright ceiling lights on when it's late and you want to wind down. Lights had greenish hue. But this room was still awesome!

This place was AMAZING and exceeded our expectations! Adorable little condo, bedrooms very comfortable, and the view of the volcano FROM MY BED… was breathtaking! This is exactly where I will be next time I visit La Fortuna! Thank you!

Maria's home is tucked in a beautiful and private, but also convenient location by Lake Arenal. Maria is so welcoming, responsive, and made my birthday trip extra special with a few accommodations/touches! Would definitely return and highly recommend others.

This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The atmosphere is peaceful, incredibly relaxing, and the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic, and having a chat with Paul was truly a blessing. Thank you, Paul and Carole, for such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

If you are like me, always looking for views and sunsets don’t think twice! This comfortable little mountain home has by far the best views we have found so far in Monteverde. We usually head out at sunset time looking for a good spot but this stay we spent every evening watching the spectacular and ever changing panorama from our own front porch. Super comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. Would like to add Waze will get you to the lower gate (search Casa del sol, Unnamed road). Just continue on the unpaved road and you will get there! Village is called Altos de Cebadilla.

A lovely house in the mountains with lots of big windows; bright, airy and offering stunning views! The house was even nicer than in the photos! It’s perfectly tucked away in nature, with no city noise, just the peaceful sounds of the cloudforest. We truly loved the tranquility of the place. You feel like you’re alone in the world, yet Monteverde is just a 10-minute drive away. Absolutely the best!

José and Dorita were very kind, we had a wonderful time exploring Monteverde from their location. We are avid birders and knocked a few goals off our list from the back porch. It is privately located, but we were in walking distance to a small grocery store and several great restaurants for dinner. The house itself is beautiful, with wonderful skylights and big windows for viewing the nature outside. Would recommend!

5 Stars - A Magical Rainforest Retreat We had an incredible stay at this beautiful home nestled in the rainforest near La Fortuna. The location is perfect—peaceful and secluded, yet just a short drive to town and all the amazing adventures La Fortuna has to offer. The grounds are absolutely stunning and teeming with life—we especially loved watching the monkeys play in the trees right outside! The house itself is spotless, tastefully decorated, and feels both cozy and luxurious. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, creating a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Pablo, the host, was fantastic—extremely responsive and helpful throughout our stay. His hospitality made everything smooth and stress-free. If you're looking for a unique and serene escape in Costa Rica, this is it. We would absolutely stay here again!

The Cabin in San Carlos is a special place located 7-8 minutes from downtown La Fortuna, offering private horseback rides around the farm, walkways making the forest an explorers paradise and a comfortable home for resting in a serene space! Arriving late in town from San Jose, we opted to do the horseback ride, and it helped set the mood for a wonderful trip around Costa Rica, providing a unique timely experience of the native wildlife, with views of the volcano. After the horseback ride, the owners took us into their arms taking the time to explain varios plants, shared a local pineapple beverage, cacao and in search for amphibians, including seeing the elusive red eyed tree frog which was a treat! The home provides a firm mattress with plenty of kitchen space. An outdoor area with seating to enjoy a morning coffee and a small jacuzzi tub, with a unique private outdoor shower attached to the room. Overall, highly recommend staying here and soaking in a more private CR experience!
