Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Limón Province

This airbnb mountain home exceeded all expectations with its breathtaking views and cozy, beautiful interior. We all had a relaxing time...the fireplace and fantastic jacuzzi made for a truly unforgettable stay. On top of that, Maria Laura was incredibly responsive, kind, and welcoming, even providing us with coffee and delicious homemade tortillas! 10/10 we hope to be back soon!

We needed a few days of rest away from the noise and routine of the city, and in this house we found a lot of peace, nature and tranquility. In addition to some super friendly dogs and access to basic services about 10 minutes away.

Our party of 12 all loved our stay. We particularly appreciated the attentiveness of Emanuel, who offered local expertise and guidance, and the immediate responses from the host, Peter. The birds and monkeys we could see from the patio made it a spectacular location. Lovely patio and pool. Table that seated 12 and a well equipped kitchen that could accommodate multiple cooks made the stay even more delightful. Thanks!

Wow, this place was absolutely magical. We were so grateful to have stayed in such a gorgeous home for 6 nights and have the chance to see 2 different types of toucans, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and coatis all on the property. The location and home were secure, clean, and impressive. Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked well, showers werea dream. In the pictures, the Whale's Tail looked like it would be hard to see, but the actual view of Uvita and the Whale's Tail is pretty incredible and much closer than expected. We have been to Costa Rica a couple of times now and choose homes higher up in the jungle for the privacy and view, but I will say this house is UP THERE. There's no way a non-4x4 car would make it up. It was quite the ride, and did take us longer than google maps said to expect. Even with the drive, this place is where you want to be. Couldn't have been better. Diana, Roberto and team were also amazing to work with, friendly, and very responsive.

Communication with the host was excellent. Very helpful and responsive. The cabin was great. Kitchen well stocked. Bed was comfortable and the view was beautiful. Note that the 5:30 am morning sun comes in and the animals get up that early. If you want to sleep in, bring eye covers and ear plugs. We had a lovely breakfast on the porch looking at the volcano. Overall, it was a good stay.

I really enjoyed staying at Lorena’s cabin on the Rio Blanco: the river is absolutely gorgeous, the hike to river is beautiful and fun, and the home is beautiful and comfortable- didn’t even need any AC! The air flow was easy, not many bugs, and the air smelled so rich. We enjoyed the above ground pool - so cool after the car ride from the coast! Thank you, Lorena, for sharing your beautiful space with us: what a blessing!

Vamosa’s home was just perfect for what we wanted. Privacy, jungle, in the middle of mountains and overlooking Whale’s Tail. The view is absolutely stunning! Loved the wrap around balcony, so you could enjoy several different outdoor spaces. The pool was refreshing & really liked the waterfall & beach entry of it. Even like the fact it was lit up all night. It was a tad chilly due to the daily rain, but we made the best of it when the sun was out. We spotted monkeys & toucans. Please note that you will definitely need a 4x4 to get there. The roads aren’t paved in certain areas of mountains so be mindful when selecting a rental. I would highly recommend arriving prior to the sun setting. We arrived at night by the time we arrived from San Jose & it was a bit of a struggle navigating up the mountain in the dark & rain when you’re not aware of where you’re going. Make sure to take a picture of her step by step directions & keep it handy because you will lose connectivity from Waze.

Our stay with Monica could not have been better. It was the little touches that contributed to a great stay. There were fresh eggs from Monica's personal hen house. We enjoyed feeding our veggie and fruit scraps the chickens each day. The jacuzzi was just the right temperature with an amazing view of the surrounding hills. Feeding the coy in the pond was mesmerizing as they came in large numbers to be fed. The shared living area was comfortable, and the large outdoor seating area was used by us every day to watch numerous birds and identify them with an app that identified them by sound. The highlight of our stay was a tour by Monica of her lovely gardens that were filled with many plants we were unfamiliar with. We are certainly hoping that we can visit again when we return to Costa Rica.

We needed a quiet place in the area to do some work with quick access to downtown Limon (only a 10min drive). We found Sherlyn's place to be just like home. The place felt extremely safe with security at the gate, super clean, wifi was exc., we used the gym and pool which were right in front of the complex. The place was fully equiped and nicely decorated. Would definitively visit again.

Appreciate all of Shantell's kindness and help, he was always available and making sure that the stay was pleasant.

We had a fantastic stay. A beautiful place with a paradise garden. We felt right at home. Unfortunately, we were only there for 2 days. Monika is very helpful and available at any time. We will be happy to come back. Thank you for everything.

This is the second time we've stayed at this place. Being 3 houses is very comfortable to be several families.

This place was an amazing retreat into the mountains after a long week in the humidity at envision. A beautiful place to decompress and relax amongst the clouds. Chema and Marga are amazing hosts, so kind and open with fascinating stories and insights into eco- living. The food is incredible— fresh local ingredients and made with love. I highly recommend! Definitely visit the nearby swimming holes / waterfalls as well. One of my favorite places to date!

I arrived at Chema and Marga’s place after a long bumpy ride on an unpaved road. My first view of the property almost brought tears to my eyes - their home is basically in the clouds! I felt so lucky to be there. And then when I walked in through the big, beautiful, heavy wooden front doors the sight of the interior really took my breath away. Even now words escape me as it is difficult to describe the feeling of peace and serenity I felt immediately. The home is just gorgeous and I have great respect for Chema and Marga for building this masterpiece by hand. Everything the other reviewers said is accurate, I will just add that there is a majestic view of the stars on clear nights, that Marga is one of the strongest and most amazing women I’ve ever met, and Chema is a wise old man who gave me incredible information about the earth that I’m really grateful for. I was so glad to have had access to such delicious home cooked vegan meals as well - thankful to the hosts for accommodating my specific diet. This is a perfect place to get away from city life, to experience the healing gifts of nature and to be in silence. Thank you Chema and Marga for opening up your home to guests, and allowing us access to this slice of paradise.

The Beach Suite at Three House Lodge is truly stunning, a quiet place, full of nature, with everything you need to have an unforgettable vacation. The accommodation is fully equipped and the location is ideal for visiting the attractions of the area. Inside the accommodation, the bathroom is extremely attractive, as well as enjoying an ecological hot tub. There are two points to consider within the accommodation, the first is the wildlife of the place, which is in constant contact with the accommodation, we were visited by monkeys and raccoons during our stay, if you are not used to contact with animals, this could be a problem for you. The second point is the privacy within the accommodation, which is built under the "open" concept being visible the bathroom from the rooms or the living room. If you have a problem with bathing in front of your companions, this could also cause you an inconvenience. Otherwise, I would be happy to come back! Thanks Three House Lodge!

Great spot close enough but far enough from the city.

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

This is a very special place up in the cloud forest. In the morning you can see the Pacific coast and mountains and in the afternoon you can watch the clouds come in. It's stunning. The dome structure is spectacular and the interior is pure zen. We had a lot of interesting conversations with Chema and Marga's food is so tasty and balanced. This was a one of kind place.

The house was very clean and comfortable and the view was better than the photos. It’s a bit of a drive to get here but if what you want is privacy, peace and spectacular then it’s worth the bumpy drive. The host was also super responsive and replied within minutes when we had questions.
