Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Mellieħa

There is something magical about staying in the heart of Mdina!! And despite the impracticalities, we’d happily do it again!! This place is a real unique find!!!! We loved being able to walk around after the tourists had left and enjoy the magic of the place. It’s really ‘money can’t buy’ stuff. The property is exactly as described - not for you if you want luxury and all the modern conveniences - it’s quirky and a bit of an odd layout. It can also be a bit of a challenge with parking/traffic - we struggled one day and can’t imagine what it might be like in the height of summer. Would highly recommend coming up the back way to Greek’s Gate via Triq l-Għarreqin. I would say from 7am - 9pm it can be quite loud, but we were out and about so didn’t bother us. It may sound like we’re being negative, but we’re not… we just think this property deserves guests who appreciate it for what it is and don’t expect it to be something else. We loved our stay at strawberry Field farm house! Elias was incredibly welcoming and the house was beautiful. It was spotless tastefully decorated and a very relaxing place to stay. The rooftop Terrace was also beautiful - stunning views to sit out and enjoy the hot tub. We would definitely recommend it and would love to go back. We also highly recommend Bottega Frawli restaurant.

It was a pleasure to stay at Rowan's place. He has put a lot of effort into creating an authentic house of character stay on Gozo. Rowan was proactive in communication and provided all of the information that we needed to make our stay an exceptional experience. Rowan's place is nicely appointed, clean, and easy to access and to use. His instructions are accurate and very helpful. We had some additional need for information about the area unrelated specifically to renting his place and he provided us with in depth and very helpful information.

This place is absolutely stunning. So peaceful, both inside and out in the beautiful garden. Authentic & historic. The local village and area are very interesting to walk around - I recommend the Zebbug loop (if you don't mind a steep hill!) Very well stocked, even a bottle of prosecco was provided, beach towels, etc. Ana was very helpful, recommending local beaches and restaurants, and always responsive, kindly allowing me a late checkout on the last day. My one comment, as someone else has said, is it should be made clearer in the description that the place is all really one room, with no real separation between bedroom, kitchen and living room. This doesn't matter if you are 1 or 2, but may affect groups of 3 depending on their makeup, as there is no real privacy.

One of the best airbnbs I have stayed in! The location was perfect - walking distance to everything in Bugibba. Everything was as described, super comfortable and clean! I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Malta ❤️

One of the best and most interesting places we’ve ever stayed! Mind was blown from the moment we walked in and exploring every corner of this huge property. Was the perfect home base to explore all of Malta during our 6 day stay. All amenities came in very good use and absolutely loved the layout. Highly highly recommend for a memorable stay!!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful luxury rooftop apartment in Malta! The design and decor were modern, stylish, and very well thought out — it felt both high-end and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of our absolute highlights was the rooftop pool. The views were stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset, and it was the perfect place to relax after exploring the island. The location was also convenient, making it easy to get around. We really appreciated the air conditioning during the hot days, although we do think it would be fair to include it in the rental price, especially considering the premium cost of the apartment. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to others looking for a luxury experience in Malta!

Excellent apartment that is equipped well and has 2 balconies, meaning you can get sun in the morning on one and at sunset on the larger terrace (with a view of the church and the bay). Clean, spacious, and a good location for walking to and from the beach as well as into town. The main supermarket (Welbees) is too far to walk with your shopping, so take a car or Uber/Bolt. We used Pick n Go or the Luna supermarket near the beach for top up shopping and essentials. Patricia and Vic were excellent in communication prior to the arrival and at check in, and made sure all was OK for us during the stay. We would recommend the apartment.

I had a very good stay with my husband and son of 5 months old. We were very happy that we could borrow a baby cot and chair. The appartment and swimming pool were very nice. The communication was very friendly and clear. We had a great time!

We stayed here for a week. The place was very clean and spacious and very well kitted out including a fully functional kitchen. The view and terrace is amazing. The apartment’s in a great location. Walking distance to shops, loads of restaurants and the bus (you will need the bus or a car to get to the beach). Loads of nice walks in the area and a very short drive to the ferry to Gozo (absolutely worth the day trip and the ferry for a car crossing is very cheep). We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Malta.

Nice appartement with a good view, listening and arranging host

My partner and I had the best time at Sim's property. It is a beautiful flat, spacious and comfortable. Sim's recommendations were spot on and not like anything we had seen before - his level of detail in the information he sent before check in was unheard of. We are very happy to have stayed at Sim's flat and definitely recommend it!

Caroline was such a great host, she left us a folder full of contacts for food and things to do round Malta. Great location as there are restaurants and shops near by and even good transport links. Gadeira bay being 10mins away on the bus.

Everything was perfect! Really nice big apartment, cozy and clean.

Lovely, spacious apartment that was exactly as described and looked just like the photos. Really well located too, with a supermarket immediately next door and lots of shops, bars and restaurants within a short walk. If you’re up for a longer walk you can even get to Sliema within 15 minutes. Really easy to jump a taxi to Valletta and anywhere else on the island too, or there’s a bus stop right outside the supermarket. Jane was a super host, letting us check-in early and responding within seconds to rescue us when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the building!

The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, plus some lovely extras like fresh coffee and an ironing board. The washing machine’s 15-minute cycle was especially handy for a quick turnaround of clothes. The views from the apartment were extraordinary, both during the day and at night. We didn’t use any of the common areas of the apartment block and wouldn’t have used the pool, so we can’t comment on those. The apartment was ideal for our holiday. We had a car and spent our 10-day stay exploring Gozo and Malta with ease. We would happily stay again if the mattress is replaced—it was very, very uncomfortable. Aside from that it was a great stay. Thank you!

We stayed in four properties during our trip to Malta & Gozo. This was by far the most professional and communicative host with the highest standard. The property has been cleverly thought through- from potato peelers and cheese graters to deckchairs- they are excellent quality. You are made to feel that you are valued and the host has not provided you with cheap utensils. The finish overall was amazing. It was well stocked with everything- indoor and pool towels. The tv is easy to use- we got Amazon Prime working easily. The pool is gorgeous and very peaceful. We felt safe as a family of four and found getting places using Bolt no problem.

Absolutely amazing stay! Ray and Rosie are wonderful hosts — so warm and attentive. The place is spotless, beautifully maintained, and truly feels like home. Every detail is thoughtfully done. Would love to come back!

We loves the setting of the apartment and the balcony was the biggest plus overlooking the sea views. We enjoyed waking sitting having tea and coffee to start the day. The bed was comfortable and all the amenities we needed were available in the apartment. The air con in the bedroom was a god send. Such a great find in a great location.

We had a lovely stay here, the penthouse is fab! The roof terrance is a really good touch, a lovely pool / bbq and amazing views. As hosts both Daniel and Svetlana were super responsive and helpful. Always on hand to help out. Would recommend if you like your own space and enjoy a sea view. It’s a lovely walk into town where there are nice restaurants and ice creams and in the other direction there are several great swimming spots with two beach bars seeing food and drink. Would highly recommended :)
