Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, this unit is perfect for a nice getaway retreat. We are a short distance (3.5 blocks) from the beach stairs (241 steps); a beautiful bluff-front park (Douglas Family Preserve); Shoreline Park; close to great restaurants; a lovely organic market; and just a short drive (~7 minutes) to State Street and Santa Barbara's famed Funk Zone.

While sitting outside, enjoy the view of the nature preserve and listen for tree frogs and, if you're lucky, coyotes, too. There is a 1.5 mile walking path across the street offering bird watching, Los Carneros Lake, and the historic Stow House. Take a different path (.4 mi each way) toward local @CaptainFattys microbrewery (check IG for wood fired pizza and events).

The Mesa Neighborhood is an amazing location with access to beaches, restaurants, Shoreline Park and the Douglas Preserve within walking distance, is a great place to get away to nature. It is a beautiful 30-minute walk or 5 minute drive to the marina and Stearns' Wharf, 5 minute drive to downtown.

Close to the beach and some restaurants, CVS, sushi and etc. This guest house in private house neighborhood. Great place for introverts, because you can arrive and leave without interaction with any people. Doors with code. Parking in front of the place, feels safe. Also plenty space on the street.

We very much enjoyed our one week stay at Casa de la Luz. The owner communicated quickly and efficiently and has a detailed binder to assure you of a comfortable stay. The house was clean, and the appliances appeared new. The tableware, the kitchen cookery and utensils were well stocked. There were also plenty of towels, soap and toilet paper. The king size bed was very comfortable. The gas fireplace and the hot tub were both wonderful ways to end a long day. The daytime views were amazing, we were lucky and saw dolphins and even an occasional whale tail. We'll be back!

We had a great stay! The home was clean, true to its original character, and the bathroom was modern and pleasant. The location felt peaceful and safe, nestled in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. It’s well situated, close enough to downtown to enjoy shops and restaurants, with grocery stores nearby, but you’ll need to drive to get around. The kitchen was well-stocked with most essentials, though it’s helpful to bring your own parchment paper, foil, or plastic wrap if you plan to cook or bake. Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding beauty, though don’t be surprised to spot a web or spider here and there, it’s part of the charm. One thing to note: sound carries in the house, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this home for a small family getaway, trip with friends, or a business visit. The price felt fair for the location and comfort provided!

I personally have always loved the Mesa neighborhood so was super happy with location within walking distance to both park/ocean as well as the main shopping center up there. Quiet & well-appointed studio with sweet private patio, great kitchen & bathroom. Nice decorative touches & immaculately clean.

Gabby was an excellent host! Very responsive and thorough. The house itself was very nice and incredibly decorated and well stocked. The backyard was even bigger than it looked in the pictures. Would highly recommend a stay here

Lynn was a friendly host with really clear communication and everything went really smoothly. The home was cosy, just right for 2 couples, and we loved the hot-tub & private back yard. The cliffs and coast are 50m away and the area is safe, walkable, and very pretty with nice gardens. We had everything we needed and had a lovely time, and Santa Barbara is a beautiful place to visit. Thanks so much!
