Beachfront holiday rentals in Monterey County

Our second time staying here. We love it!

Stayed with my husband and parents here for our wedding week that was happening in the area. The place was plenty spacious for 4 people! Much better than a hotel room would’ve been. Gave us quality time cooking in the kitchen and hanging out in the living room, enjoying the hottub & heated pool and the beach! The ocean view from the dining table and the front porch is STUNNING!! The place is nice, well kept, and has everything you need! Any small things that popped up, Patti was helpful and fixed right away! Would definitely stay here again!!

Sean's cottage is an absolute delight, we moved in as though it was our own home. Worth reading previous reviews mentioning building works next door. As we were prepared for this (they started 8am promptly Mon-Fri), also ants (which didn't show up) and the racoon in the bins (which did show up) none of this was an issue, and was reflected in the reduced rental. Sean was an excellent host, replied speedily to any queries, including calling a plumber for a minor problem. The cottage is the most homely of places, there's everything you could need, the kitchen is generously equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The pretty patio is full of flowers and birds. Since it was April, we were not outside in the evenings, but it seems noise is an issue with neighbours. There are polite but firm notices requesting no outside noise after 9pm which could be difficult on hot summer evenings. This was one of our favourite Airbnbs, the location is fabulous, so much to do, we were busy all the time

Amazing hotel right on the beach! Clean room, great extra amenities and the nice coffee set up was an added bonus! 10/10 would recommend staying here!

Great View and Weather!

This place was great! Check in and Check out were easy. The location was great with easy walk to point lobos. The place was clean and had all the things we needed for a weekend. If staying longer we might have wanted a more robust kitchen with full size refrigerator. Overall this is a great place and we give it an A+

Beautiful place, gorgeous location with ocean view, right next to an amazing restaurant with the most amazing views. Diane is very nice and sweet and check in/ check out process was very easy.

This neighborhood is safe and peaceful. We have stayed at The Dunes numerous times over the last 4 years. Lisa’s home is beautiful and inviting. We all felt very comfortable and relaxed. It is such a gorgeous area and the staff at the front gate is always so helpful too. I had to reach out to Lisa multiple times throughout our stay and each time her responses were quick and respectful. It was a delight to chat with her and we are definitely planning to come back and would rent this home again.

We had a family vacation and wanted a place where we could walk to the beach and back since we had elderly and a toddler in our party. The house was perfect for that. There was a crib and toys and books which we got to use with our daughter. The internet connection was non existent (it would say connected and say no connection) but we didn’t mind much as we were just there for vacation and didn’t need constant access to internet. Overall, our family had a wonderful time and made good memories.

The photos don't do the location justice. Whale watch from your living room and see the entire Monterey Bay from the beach...you don't have to put your shoes on to get to the beach, you're already here. We came at a lovely warm time and there weren't any other people around. Community has a pool and hot tub that were also great! So thankful to have enjoyed some days here at Blue Diamond. The binoculars and scope really were great for whale watching from the living room. What a cool sight to see a whale breeching while the sun was setting. It only takes 3 minutes to get to Moss Landing, 3 lovely well appointed and comfy beds with buttery soft linens were great place to rest our heads. Thanks again Deb!

Love this place! Will definitely come back!

This place was very clean and comfortable for our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 6 years old). We felt safe. The property is within a gated community. Neighbors were quiet. Very peaceful and right next to the beach. We took the kids to the beach daily during our stay. Very few people on the beach when we went in May 2025, but it was a bit chilly. The property is about 30 minutes south to Monterey Bay Aquarium and 30 minutes north to Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Both fun activities for the kids. Recommend grabbing pre-packaged meals from Gayle's Bakery in Capitola to bring back to the Airbnb to heat up in the oven. Host tip was to stop by a grocery store on the way to the property, which we followed and highly recommend for the next guest. There isn't a grocery store nearby. You will have to drive about 30 minutes to the closest grocery store. Both beds were very comfortable. Didn't have any back pains in the morning. Would stay here again.

I stayed here with a few of my bridesmaids while looking for a wholesome weekend getaway near Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea, and this place absolutely exceeded our expectations. The home is nestled in a beautiful, private community that felt safe, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing—perfect for unwinding and bonding before the big day. The views from the property were absolutely stunning. Whether we were sipping coffee in the morning or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, the scenery was breathtaking and added such a magical touch to our stay. Check-in and check-out were a breeze, which made everything so smooth and stress-free. We also loved how easy it was to get around. Whether we were exploring charming shops and restaurants in Carmel-by-the-Sea or spending time along the coast in Monterey, everything was conveniently close and accessible. This spot was ideal for creating special memories, and I would absolutely recommend it.

Everything was advertised. This unit had it all. Very comfortable for 2 or 3 couples. The location was spectacular.

Janice’s apartment had gorgeous views and was a short walk to a lovely and walkable beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to make easy meals and the whole place was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

The location is much more private and peaceful than the surrounding area. Basically get your own stretch of beach in an otherwise overpopulated area. The Airbnb is also clean and tidy.

We had a wonderful stay. It is a beautifully designed space that had everything we needed to relax, cook nice meals, sleep well and enjoy the beach which was a minutes walk away. It allowed us to really relax and enjoy our time there- only three days but felt like we were at home! Highly recommend

This is a beautiful place, right on the ocean, with beautiful views. So well equipped with everything you need. The gift food basket with local products and well stocked pantry was very welcoming. So many products in the bathroom and even extra towels and linens if you need them. Also was stocked with laundry supplies. Szuszi, the host was very responsive and proactive. Like many places right on the ocean, it did have a musty smell. This was fine for us, but may not be for those that are sensitive. We loved being able to walk along the beach and also around the nature preserves. It was a short drive into town and we enjoyed the recommendations left by the host for where to get groceries, get food, and local sites. We would definitely stay here again.

Our group consisted of four generations and the layout of the house allowed for separate areas to do your own thing and larger rooms to gather as a group without crowding. The owner provided a well equipped kitchen, plenty of blankets and towels, beach equipment, and everything you would find in a normal household. They even included birthday decorations and supplies since we were celebrating turning 17 and 70. The host explained details of how to use glass top stove, hot tub, and TV. She was very responsive to our questions. I would not hesitate to rent this place again.

We had such a fun weekend getaway at Ann’s place! It was quaint and cozy—perfect for a relaxing stay. The location was ideal, right on Cannery Row and within walking distance to the aquarium and tons of great restaurants. Everything else was just a quick $8 Uber ride away, including breweries and other fun spots. Would absolutely stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at Howard’s Place! Literally steps from the beach. Howard was very communicative and always responded if we reached out to him. The community is also amazing! We had an issue with the blinds not working and they came the next day and fixed them. They provide wheelbarrows for luggage and have a private pond. We would definitely stay here again! Megan’s place was perfect for our family. Everything from her being super responsive and accommodating to perfect location, spacious space with cute decor, kitchen has pretty much everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend!
