Georgian charm near Lough Corrib and Connemara

DanaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Staying at Tom (and Mark's) home was an absolute highlight of our trip to Ireland. From the moment we arrived, Tom welcomed us with warmth and kindness (and Whiskey!), making us feel right at home. He is not only the sweetest man but also an exceptional host and conversationalist, with stories and recommendations that made our stay even more memorable. The atmosphere in his home is authentic and truly magical, capturing the essence of Ireland perfectly. And the breakfasts—wow! Each morning, we were treated to delicious, homemade meals and French press coffee that set the perfect tone for our day. Tom's hospitality made our trip to Ireland truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Double Room self catering with shared bathroom

Jane's place is ideal if you want to explore the Galway area and you're traveling solo. I had no problems. Everything was spotless. The room had everything you could want. It was self catering. Jane was very welcoming and helpful. A great stay and I would highly recommend. Would love to stay here again.

Glen Villa B&B - single Room

Great stay! The walls are a bit thin so you can sometimes hear other guests, but otherwise this was lovely. Location is a 25 min walk to the city center, but there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within a 5 min walk. Easy parking. Lovely continental breakfast available in the morning

Frank's cottage (double room & light breakfast!)

We would like to give 6 out of 5 stars. Linda is an emphatic host and helps with everything you need, incl. Tips for the area. You feel welcome and feel at home. The accommodation and interior are functionally thought out (including a great shower!) and we felt as comfortable as we could wish. Thank you Linda, it was wonderful and it was a pity that it was only two nights that we could spend with you. We highly recommend both the host and the accommodation.

We had a lovely stay with Robert and Martina. They are incredibly friendly and kind hosts, and their whole family is genuinely warm and welcoming. The room is a super cozy attic-style space—spotlessly clean, with an amazing bed, high-quality linen, and a beautiful window that lets in great natural light during the day and can be fully blacked out at night for perfect sleep. The area is very peaceful and quiet. A car is definitely needed, as the place is around 15–20 minutes from Galway, but it's well worth the drive. Highly recommend!

Lough Corrib View

so where shall I even start, as an international student the country was new to me and Anne treated me like her own son and she came to pick me up with all the luggage and dropped me as well. She also picked some groceries for me and let me use that for the entire stay. Her communication is so precise and clear that even to rookie like me Galway got an ample experience of transportation and she also helped me finding some accomodation in Galway. I heartlly wished that I could extend my stay with her for couple of weeks but the property was reserved for others guest too. She was the first Irish person I talked to during my journey from India and indeed I found an another mother who is warm, generous and kind. May God bless her with all the health and fulfills everything she desires of. Regards Abhish😇
