Hockey Hut

Hockey Hut is a cosy, clean, self contained and comfortable hut it has everything you need for a cosy stay. We offer a variety of cereals, breads, tea and coffee for breakfast. Franz Josef township is a 10 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive. Relax and enjoy the beautiful native surroundings. We are at the far end of Cron street, straight past the hot pools, then past the medical centre until you see our red Maori Pau (red carving) then turn right up our drive. We are 116 Cron street.

The Tower, Okarito

The Tower is a comfortable two storey, seperate building with an upstairs bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has excellent views of the sea and the Southern Alps. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi (system fully upgraded August 2021) Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing (new Aug 22). There are balconies on three sides of the tower.

A spacious three bedroom house. The living area is upstairs to make the most of the views of the Okarito Lagoon, Beach and Mountains. The main bedroom is upstairs with great views. Downstairs is a bedroom, bathroom and then a few steps down brings you into a large darts room that doubles as the third bedroom. There is space for people to hang out downstairs playing darts, or you can sit and admire the views from the living area upstairs.

Te Awa Cottages – Tahi Cottage

Te Awa Cottages is only a 2 minute drive from Franz Josef township, situated just off State Highway 6 on our private property, a short walk from the Tatare River, and surrounded by stunning views of the snow covered Main Divide and Melchior Glacier, and our handful of sheep and cattle. Free wifi, air conditioner & heat pump and plenty of parking space right outside your cottage.
