The surrounding area offers nice hiking experiences with lake and mountains in the immediate vicinity, as well as a short drive to the nearest town. The midnight sun lasts from mid-May to mid-July, a few weeks before and after this period the nights are as bright as the days.

Welcome to Farmorhuset in Nykvåg, in the middle of beautiful Vesterålen. The house was built in 1954 and combines nostalgic 50s style with today's amenities for a comfortable stay. I have inherited this house from my father, who in turn inherited it from his mother, and it has therefore been important for me to preserve the soul and history of the house. Farmorhuset has three bedrooms with a total of four beds, which makes the house perfect for both small families and groups of friends.

In the fjord outside the house there are opportunities for good fishing from the jetty. The house is located close to the popular tourist destination Dronningruta and the fishing village Nyksund. It is also a good location as a base for exploring both Lofoten, Bø, Hadsel and Andøya.

The area is rich in sea eagles and there is a high probability that you will be able to spot one. You can also rent a boat for fishing in the fjord.
