Red Door Chalet

This vibrant chalet is the quintessential country retreat, with 55 private, wooded acres. Located 6 miles (15 minutes) from Jay Peak Resort, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps 8 comfortably. 2 king beds, 1 queen bed, 4 single beds. Full kitchen. Deck for barbecuing. The Red Door Chalet is the perfect getaway to disconnect from the technological grind. This is an older cabin with old furniture and some creaky floors. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is recommended for winter.

Close to both Jay Peak and downtown Newport, you can enjoy all those locations have to offer, or simply relax. Please note that the stairs to the 2nd floor are steeper than usual.

(ATT cell phone users usually have great reception) , or internet in a very beautiful but easily accessible old style family cabin on Big Averill lake. Located in the heart of Brownington Village, and about 15 miles from the Canadian border, our property allows for easy access to many scenic locations. Enjoy all that Vermont's Northeast Kingdom has to offer including many beautiful lakes, hiking trails, bike paths, and ski areas. There are about a dozen homes in the village and you will hear traffic going by, including horses and buggies carrying our Amish neighbors.
