Wonderful place to stay if you would like to explore Hermanus and surrounds. Excellent host that went out of his way to accommodate us. Beautiful and practical interior. Rooms are spacious and the entire house was sparkling clean. Would highly recommend this place any time.

Our second time here at this wonderful house on the edge of the lagoon was truly spectacular! The house has absolutely everything you could need including table tennis, tennis racquets, bicycles and board games. The proximity to the water is very special with our boat moored at the beach right in front of the house. Thank you so much Marlize!

We fell in love with the village of Stanford and the soul restoring River Home. This beautiful house is right on the river's edge and is a real treat (and retreat) to stay in. Just the place to surrender to nature, listen to the birdsong, rest and restore. We loved walking along the delightful river path. A short walk into the centre of town will bring you to several delightful restaurants. We ate at three of them (for lunch at Madré we enjoyed a really good pork belly with crispy skin and vegetables, at La Trattoria we had a feast of authentic Italian food and Agteros has a menu full of delightful South African dishes done with a modern twist). We also brownsed in some delightful homewear and gift shops. If you prefer eating at home, the kitchen at River House has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. It is spotless, has a great gas hob and electric oven and a dishwasher for cleaning up after.

What a magical place. The house has enough space and amenities that it’s lovely in both warm and cold weather. The location is so beautiful and Jannie was an extremely friendly and helpful host. This was our second time here and we will definitely continue coming back here.

I had a lovely stay at this beautiful home with a stunning view of the ocean. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to breathtaking coastal walkways and the harbor. It’s a peaceful spot with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A couple of things to note: the oven was unfortunately not clean when we arrived, but the host was responsive and came to clean it the next day so that I was able to use it. I really appreciated the responsiveness. Also, while the house is well-equipped overall, a proper vacuum cleaner would really help future guests, especially those traveling with pets. The handheld one provided isn’t quite effective for cleaning the carpets. All in all, a great stay in a wonderful location. Would definitely recommend this place.

We had a wonderful weekend at Goodluck Homestead celebrating my mother's 70th birthday. From babies to young kids to parents to grandparents, all needs were catered for. Spacious common areas, with plenty of nooks to sit and relax. A playroom for the kids, a dam to paddle and swim in, a hot tub, fire pit, games, books, farm animals, gorgeous gardens and fresh produce on arrival. It was divine. We'll be back.

The location is outstanding, right on the shoreline accessible by a path out front. The colony of penguins was very amusing with a backdrop of the mountains in the background.Van As is passionate about his locale and was generous with his recommendations.A very pleasant stay.

A beautiful bachelor flat that was even better than the photos. Audrey was incredibly helpful and thoughtful, checking in with me daily to ensure everything was perfect and offering assistance whenever needed. The flat was cosy, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay truly enjoyable.

Bit of a back story - we got married in Hermanus 30 years ago yesterday (30/4/95) at St Peters and had the reception at Beintangs se grot and we had our honeymoon at Smits - we were the first to use the house after we had bought it. We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. it was quiet and peaceful but close enough to all major sites and lots of restaurants. The cottage is well furnished and has more than everything you could need for a shor or long stay. The garden and patio are well furnished and make for a relaxing chill spot after a long day of sightseeing. Our pets were also well accommodated for and had a wonderful time playing in the garden.

Kyle’s place was super central and close to everything. The apartment is really big and spacious, usually one bedrooms can feel a bit crammed but Kyle’s place is open and breezy but still extremely cozy with everything you need. Kyle also accommodated us with an early check-in which was awesome. Kyle is Super responsive and helpful with perfect instructions. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks Kyle!

Philip was such a gratious host! We felt right at home end relaxed, because this house has everything. We didn't want for anything. Philip even lent us canoes, life jackets for the kids, etc to enjoy some water sport in the lagoon. The kids played outside for hours! We'll definitely be coming back. Lovely location, remote enough for nature lovers but just 15min from Gansbaai for groceries, etc. Plenty of scenic walks for all fitness levels, multiple swimming spots, nearby Lomond wine farm has great MTB trails. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, the covered outdoor seating area with braai is a relaxing vibe. Would revisit for sure.

Gull's nest is a lovely spot. Bass lake is an amazing place for a swim with lovely views and an expanse of open water. Unexpected and a definite favorite from our visit.

The cottage was private and plenty of outside space for our beach toys and dogs.
