This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

We had a wonderful 25th Anniversary stay at The Little Lost Containers! We enjoyed the craftsmanship and small details, everything was perfect! 3 levels of views of Lake Superior, beautiful and so calming. Tim and Berta seriously thought of everything, and then some when this was built. We really enjoyed listening to the birds, playing games and reading. We felt right at home! And of course the area has plenty to do, hikes, waterfalls, shopping and great restaurants. We hope to return someday. Thank you for the perfect little get away!

Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay! Sitting by the lake was the perfect way to unwind. One night I’m pretty sure we heard wolves, and maybe even a moose Meeting the dogs was such a sweet bonus, they were so friendly and gave us something to laugh about for years to come!! Thank you for creating such a cozy and welcoming space. We will definitely be thinking about that lake view for a long time!

This cabin stay was exactly what I was seeking in the North Shore. It’s a perfect launching pad for so many hikes and state parks.
