Lake house holiday rentals in Plettenberg Bay

Lovely place to stay at & the location was great to explore Knysna.

This is a stunning house, well situated on the Keurbooms river in a nice estate, it’s really spacious and well equipped with everything that opens and shuts. Great fun to drive the boat from the end of the garden up and down the river. The owner is accommodating and helpful, so too are the agents Mandy and Simone. Zanele the housekeeper is also super. The only drawback and only in peak season I think, was the loud music from the beach bar across the river. We highly recommend this house, we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovey stay at La Vie Belle. The amenities were exquisite. It felt like the perfect home away from home since the moment we arrived. We were two ladies alone and felt very safe and comfortable in Thesen Island and the house. It was exactly the place we needed to relax, from the sunny patio to the comfortable lounge where we watched many movies and series on the smart TV. It was lovely having good coffee and tea ready in the kitchen, as well as hand wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms. We loved the spacious kitchen where we were able to cook some meals. We will definitely be back again!

An incredible home with a host who truly cares about the guest experience. The space is warm, earthy, and inviting, with stunning views that made our stay even more memorable. We loved every part of this thoughtfully designed and well-equipped accommodation. One of our favourite parts was lighting the indoor fire each day; it added such a cosy and peaceful atmosphere.

My family and I had a wonderful stay. The house was lovely and situated in a beautiful area. The house was clean and spacious to accommodate everyone comfortably. The host were both very helpful. I would recommend this place.

From booking to checkout Doug and Carla were great hosts. Doug accommodated a late check-in, helped us register with security to access Thesen Island, and took us to the property for a walk-through. The home was spotless, incredibly spacious, and had every utility and modcon you need. A pleasant surprise was the addition of a pool between booking and arrival. The outside space and boat deck make for the ultimate Knysna vacation spent on the water. The restaurants and bars of Thesen Harbour Town are a 5 min walk. We will be back. Thank You!

We felt at home as soon as we entered the house. Thesen island is an artificial paradise perfect to relax when travelling along the garden route. We particulary enjoyed having a swim in front of the house when the tide was high.

Fantastic location. Great for exploring the river, fishing or simply relaxing with a book. We will definetely be back!

This beautiful property in stunning surroundings is the perfect location for a family vacation or getaway. It’s safe, private, spacious and tastefully decorated providing a comfortable and restful experience. The host was responsive, informative and super friendly.

We had a blast at Carens place walking distance from the lagoon, close to town. Great restaurants. Beautiful house with everything you need to have a good time.

Silverspray is such a special place. A number of generations have had the absolute privilege of calling this their holiday home. Well worth the stay. Views to die for, bouys right outside to anchor your boat, outdoor shower for after the fun. This is a must stay. Loved it

We felt so at home! Spacious. Clean and everything else. The little bits we always forget about when going away, It was there when we arrived (like they knew). All I can say is we will be back for sure.

We had a fantastic stay at Adrie and Neville’s place! The house is exactly as shown in the photos: spacious, private, and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Adrie and Neville were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The pool and jacuzzi were absolutely fabulous, and we loved having access to Netflix and Disney+, plus the pool table, ping pong, and foosball, perfect for relaxing and having fun. We also really appreciated having our own space to unwind and enjoy some quiet time, we felt completely at ease and comfortable throughout the stay. There’s a great laundry area, and the neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. Just 4 minutes away, there’s a lovely restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The area felt super safe, and it’s ideal for couples, families, and even guests traveling with dogs. Highly recommended, we’d definitely love to come back!

The location is beautiful and it is so peaceful surrounded with fields and hills. The horses greated us daily! The house is spacious and the kitchen is well equiped. It was a very homely atmosphere, thank you Waldo!

We love Nature's Valley and Peter's place worked perfectly for our family of four, as it is vey close to the lagoon, so you can walk with beach gear etc. The sky deck was especially nice to enjoy the view in the mornings and evenings. As well as the under cover area to sit and enjoy a meal or weber is great if the weather is poorly. The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil you need to make any meal, and an array of coffee pot and plunger options as well, which was well received. The layout of the house is awesome and the balcony off the main bedroom is lovely to enjoy the am/pm sun.

Domitilla's cottage is a charmingly quirky cabin in the woods with a large deck in the woods and close to the Knysna River, very quiet and private which for us was a large plus. The river is only a short walk away across grassy fields and there are a number of canoes available to use - good fun. The cottage itself is fairly basic but perfectly adequate and it felt safe. Access to town is very easy. Thanks for sharing your farm with us, Domitilla.

Our first trip to Plett, and we were blown away by the sheer natural beauty of the place. Our visitors from England were equally impressed. The house was nothing short of comfortable and homely. The kids had a blast playing indoors only while the weather was overcast and windy, fortunately on one day only. Eunice the housekeeper was most pleasant and easy to converse with. While there, we visited Knysna and George as well. Will definitely be back at Villa Rossa for a longer stay the next time.

We had an amazing stay at Tessa’s place. We were travelling with grandparents and 2 kids aged 8 and 11. The property felt like a ‘home from home’ in a very beautiful and peaceful setting (amazing views of the estuary) . The property had everything we needed and more including bikes, kayaks, well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The estate itself has great amenities including a cafe and pub. All the rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious for our family. Lots of open reception spaces and outdoor spaces for relaxing. It was also the perfect place for exploring Knsyna and surroundings.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend at the River Club. The kids loved riding their bikes around the complex, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again soon!

Amazing place, very welcoming and responsive host and local contact who was happy to help us with anything we needed. Only need in the house was a few more options to hang wet towels and beach gear, separate bins inside so we could easily separate recycling, and another outside couch for a bit more space to all laze outside. Beautiful little house and otherwise well equipped. Would definitely come back, thanks for a lovely stay.

Hentie's Goose Valley property was absolutely stunning and a prime location. It was beautiful inside and out. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, stylish and well equipped space to enjoy with family and friends.
