We have done our upmost to ensure you have a wonderful relaxing stay. Within walking distance to lovely bars and restaurants and a 10 minute walk from the coastal walk. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Melsmere Lodge is a 2 bedroomed thatched cottage on the side of a private 1.5 acre lake and is surrounded by woodland and open countryside. The lake and woodland attract hundreds of species of birds and mammals. The lake itself is stocked with coarse fish. A little oasis of nature with easy links to local cities. Explore the wider Wirral area on the network of public footpaths or take a short train ride to the cities of Liverpool or Chester.

‘The Shippen’ is a barn conversion, once part of a small dairy farm. High beamed ceilings give a spacious, rustic feel, and the double sided log burner makes the living spaces cosy. A ‘home from home’ that many guests return to. Open weekend at Royal Birkdale available. Golf Links courses line the Sefton coast from Crosby to Southport. There are many lovely country walks and of course some fabulous country pubs. The trendy suburb of Hoole is only 15 minutes walk. Here you will find bars restaurants and shops.

Only a 20 minute drive from Chester and easily accessible for Manchester and Liverpool.

A quaint cottage, at Aston Hill Farm, Ewloe

This is a newly refurbished cottage, which was originally a farm workers cottage, on a dairy farm. It’s quaint and very nicely finished. The log burner makes the sitting room very cosy. The cottage is attached to a stable block, and forms a u-shape of out-buildings, including our carpentry workshop. The main farmhouse is close by, but separate. We have large gardens, which guest are welcome to use, including a barbecue and pizza oven. Rural location, but close to lots of amenities.

Grooms Cottage - an idyllic Cheshire rural retreat

Grooms Cottage is adjacent to our home in the charming hamlet of Tiverton, near Tarporley, Cheshire. Built in the Victorian era, the cottage was accommodation for a groom to facilitate hunting and shooting parties from the hunting lodge and stables. Guests are provided with a breakfast welcome pack upon arrival consisting of Croissant, butter, Twinings tea, selection of Tassimo coffee pods, organic milk & Wilkin & Sons preserves, all sealed.
