Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Tau Studio is a boutique style chalet with a modern stylish decor and a hint of luxury. Everything is provided including top quality linen. It is very spacious but also has a lovely cosy, warm feel. Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

Cosy in the Centre of Ohakune

This one bedroom apartment is on the ground floor of our family home (we live on the 2nd and 3rd floors). It is in the middle of Ohakune, halfway between Turoa Junction and Ohakune centre. They're a walks close by, Turoa is 20 minutes drive away and we have a list of walks that are nearby and suit a range of people. Parking is right in front of the apartment as per the photos in the listing. Our house manual also has a list of the best spots in Ohakune to check out.

Base yourself here for your Ruapehu ski trip, do the Tongariro Crossing, one of the world's best day hikes, rent a bike and cycle the Old Coach Road, or use this cabin to rest and relax.
