Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Raystown Lake

Quite country setting. Cell service was spotty (Verizon) so it was good to be disconnected for awhile. Home as WiFi so one can connect if they choose to. This is a country setting so you will be about 30 mins to civilization/shops/restaurants so plan accordingly. Kitchen has all you will need to cook meals. Nice peaceful country setting with donkey, pigs, chickens, and sheep.

We had a great time. The house is well kept, has plenty of space inside and out, and close to necessities while still being away from it all. It's just 2 minutes from the Abandoned PA Turnpike. There are several chain restaurants in Breezewood, but we were happy to travel 15-20min away to find some nice local restaurants. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, including a well-stocked fire pit with lots of comfortable seating.

This is the second time we've stayed at Brooke's place. We looked for a place closer to Altoona, but nothing compares to Brooke's and Martinsburg. We love it out there. The house is exactly as described. It has all the amenities that you need. The area and people are wonderful. We also recommend Mamies for breakfast in Martinsburg.

We were in the Centre County area for a geocaching event and decided we wanted to stay away from the State College noise, hubbub and overpriced accommodations. The barber shop was the perfect choice. Although I am not a clean freak, I found that the cottage was exceptionally clean and suited our needs. Chris was cutting the grass when we arrived and provided us with all the information we would need for our one-night stay. This was our first foray into the world of Airbnb's and were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the cottage was, from a washer/dryer to snacks to band-aids. All-in-all, to a retired teacher, you get an A+. Thanks Chris!

A very nice private area set away from everything. Served well for a weekend get away for an event I attended and was so impressed I might just bring the wife and kids back. Host is nice and quick to respond and the house itself very clean and well kept. Grass was taken care of. Nothing overgrown. I didn’t find myself looking for anything I needed short of groceries. Well worth the money!

We had an amazing time at Elizabeth's cabin by the lake. There was plenty of space for my family of 4. The house was amazing! It was very clean and well taken care of. This was by far, the best AirBNB I have stayed at. It had everything you could possibly want or need when you are away from home. Awesome place!

The chalet was very clean and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. My kids enjoyed the pool that was right down the road. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place for my husband and I while we visited our son in State College. Despite cooler temps this space was warm and cozy and met our needs for the weekend.

This was our second stay at Sherry's it's such cozy place to stay. It's always so clean and welcoming. We were in the area again for a weekend long stockdog clinic and were so grateful that Sherry allows our dog to stay with us.

Wow! This place is a gem!! Wonderful welcoming communication from the host, amazingly clean, thoughtful touches, so quiet and peaceful. I feel so grateful for Kevin welcoming me into his studio and having it available on Airbnb to stay in. I can’t say enough good things. Everything was perfect.

It was easy to find and all the instructions were clear. Cinnamon buns were a nice touch! Beds comfortable and linen great! Conveniently located close to travel paths and attractions. Would definitely stay again in the future!

This is a beautiful place right in downtown chambersburg. Top class designer furnishings and interior decor, comfortable bed and linens, downtown walkable location and tons of parking!

Connie was helpful and gave clear instructions. I had a minor problem and she came to help immediately. The place was so cute and had everything I needed.

Jeannie and Herb’s place was exactly what our family needed on our way to the east coast. It was quiet and peaceful, viewing the cows and chickens was a favorite of our kids. There were plenty of games and puzzles to occupy our kids and everything we needed to make a healthy meal was available in the kitchen.

This spotless upstairs apartment was perfect for me while visiting friends nearby: a soft bed, nice bathroom with thick towels, and full kitchen made for a great home base. Very easy drive to Huntingdon, as well! I ended up needing to reschedule my stay and was thrilled how quickly Sarah put that into action. It's always cool to see a host has put together everything you might need in a pinch like spare hygeine items, too.

Sherry’s place was exactly what was described in the listing and even better in person. Our family of four enjoyed Memorial Day Weekend here and enjoyed the golf course and Clubhouse Restaurant. We will be returning again soon. Make sure you give this place a try!

I love how it makes me feel like home. Great work area and the kitchen is my favorite place. Also really convenient if you have dogs cause there is some great area to go in a long walk with your pets

Great deal, comfortable beds, had everything I needed had issues with the toilet and got fixed right. Great hosts and will take care of you if something happens with the Airbnb.

Place was exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. Jay and Angel very responsive and accommodating to request. Apartment is super quiet

The wooded mountain setting is just relaxing and the stress of the world’s problems melted away during the drive up the mountain. I would strongly recommend checking in during daylight, especially if there is fog (or snow in winter). This is a ski resort and the roads are mountain ski resort roads and visibility can be sketchy in weather. Never had time to use the resort amenities but they were very close and looked very nice. On one of my puppy walks I saw a common area with a fire pit pre-stocked with wood. Wish I had time to use it. Booking was smooth and hosts were very responsive even after hours. E-locks made check in easy. Nice K-cup coffee selection was a life saver. Bathroom was good sized and spotless. Wife is a clean freak and didn’t utter a peep! A primary concern of my wife and I is sleep comfort. The mattress was more COMFORTABLE than the one at home - not the cheap mats you find at some airbnbs. Heaters looked new and took the chill off the rainy nights perfectly.

My friends and I stayed here for a long weekend. We had the best time! The hosts are the nicest people and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay! The hosts kept us posted on all of the fun activities on the mountain. We loved the fireplace in the condo. We will definitely be back! Thank you 😊

We LOVED this little condo in the woods! We were surrounded by beautiful forest, enjoyed the daily melody of bird song, & OMG the bed was so comfortable! I looked forward to getting into it every night & never wanted to leave it in the morning. The convenience of having the washer/dryer and full-sized appliances in the kitchen was like having a home away from home. Although we never got to meet Rose in person, she was always available through the app to ask questions. Admittedly, we weren't prepared for the long, winding journey to get to the condo & didn't realize it was so high in the mountains & isolated, but we still enjoyed the experience. The condo is close to a resort where you can ski in the winter & do other activities year-round. Our purpose for renting the condo was to scout out Pennsylvania & decide if this state will be our next home. Verdict? YES! Highly recommend staying here, especially if you want to get away from it all. Still only minutes to amenities, though!
