Family-friendly holiday rentals in Reykholt

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is very nice with all the necessary amenities but the best part is the view. One thing to keep in mind is to bring towels if you plan to use the hot tub as we were only given one shower towel each for our stay. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Loved this home away from home! It had everything we needed. The hot tub was so nice after a long day of hiking and the laundry machines were a blessing. Favorite spot we visited was the Gjain - a hidden oasis that required a bit of F road adventures. If we ever visit again, we will try to reserve this place. It was wonderful!

Really amazing place at a very low price!

I stayed at the Hekla Comfort House with my father and brother for two nights during a 6 day trip in Iceland. My father hadn't been to Europe since the 70's and this was our first time traveling just the three of us. We loved every minute of our stay and wish we could have extended our time there. Such a lovely home and the hosts have clearly thought of every last amenity their guests may need. We drove a lot exploring the South coast and it was so wonderful to come back to this place after a long day in the car. Many thanks for sharing your special home with us!

The cabins sit on a road away from where reception is, and the instructions were clear to get there. The hot tub does take a while to fill up, since it is filled with geothermal spring water, but it is definitely a must in Iceland. Relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking and traveling the Golden Circle was a perfect ending.

Nice home convenient to the Golden Circle. Sandra had great communication and was very helpful when we arrived late in the day. Home was tidy and included at the promised amenities. We wish we could have had more time in the area and in this home.

Very comfortable hut, complete with everything and beautifully furnished! Very comfortable double bed! Great location, but maybe a little far away! Experience I recommend to those who really want to live an Icelandic experience!

I came to Versalir Cabin for a few nights with my husband and our two small children. The cabin was very comfortable especially on our first night when it was raining and very windy, the accommodations were SO cozy! The cabin was exactly as pictured and described and the setting was beautiful and peaceful. I expected to have a harder time finding the cabin as the instructions for getting there mentioned that my GPS may only take us 90% of the way there, and that I should rely on the written directions for the rest of the way. We did print out the written directions however my apple maps took us right there anyway so that was a relief and made it easy for the rest of our trip as we were coming and going to be able to rely on GPS. The location was under 20 minutes to downtown Selfoss and probably 15 minutes to Kerid Crater, under an hour to many other main locations one would want to visit as well like Gullfoss and the Geysir. We would DEFINITELY stay here again! :)

Wonderful stay in a very peaceful location. The main house had everything we needed whilst camping to make it a comfortable stay and the dome was so cozy and such a fun experience

This place was peaceful, gorgeous, and exactly what I was looking for. The view was amazing, centrally located near both the golden circle and restaurants and amenities in selfoss. Sigrun and Sigurdur were wonderful hosts. The little stream chuckling beside the place was lovely. I would stay here again.

If you’re looking for a quiet getaway that’s also close to attractions around the golden circle (1 hour or even less for Kerid crater) and south coast (1-2 hours depending on where you are going), this is the place. Steinunn’s cabin is up on her family farm property, and it was restful and gorgeous. The only downside is that we only had a few days there - if we had more time we certainly would have explored more of the farm and area around.

We loved our stay here! The little cabin was so cozy! We enjoyed meeting the animals, particularly the cat that came and visited us. If you have time, definitely climb the little mountain nearby. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

Fabulous apartment with very easy access from airport. Comfy seats with the best view, close to shops & restaurants. We stayed for our first couple of nights in Iceland & was the perfect base to explore. Thank you!

Location was perfect for sightseeing near and far. The airbnb was very comfortable and warm with a well equipped kitchen. Trausti was a great host. I would highly recommend this place.

Marteinn welcomed us in his lovely house. It was clean and comfortable and there were lots of birds around the house. He was very quick in responding and we felt right at home. Thank you!

The photos do not do Gudlaug’s place justice. It was extremely comfortable. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. It was so cozy. We used the hot tub every single day. The location is excellent. It is very close to the Golden Circle Drive, the ferry to the Westman Islands, and all of the South Coast. If you are looking for privacy, comfort, beauty, and relaxation in Iceland after all your touring this is the place. We are a family of five and there was room to spare.

Björgvin is a great host and his place was everything our group was looking for. Remote house, with a hot tub, grill and good vibes. The location and the view from the terrace is beautiful with only a few minutes drive to the nearest town. Björgvin was really friendly and offered his assistance if we needed anything which was a nice touch.

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

we spent two nights at the cottage. I exceed all our expectations. The house has all the amenities described. The hot water tub makes the difference. Surrounded by nature, cared for and clean . The communicative host and educado. would repeat.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

We loved our short but sweet stay at this peaceful location. Would definitely return on another trip! A perfect location for Golden Circle or heading further south. Loved it and the surroundings!

Photos were very accurate. The view in the morning was so pretty, and the house wasn’t hard to find. Jonina wasn’t available in person, but her sister helped direct us to the cabin at night, with no problem at all, and was very helpful. We all enjoyed our stay!

A spacious, well lit apartment with great views and walking distance from the city centre. Edda was a very responsive and helpful host. The apartment was equipped with everything needed for a long trip to Iceland. We would definitely stay there again!

Great location, close to gas station, vinbudin, restaurants, banks, Route 1. Very cozy accommodations, relaxing hot tub with great scenery. Loved sitting on the couch with the electric fire place on (heat off) watching TV to relax before bed. Hosts are very responsive and live next door if you need anything. This was our second time staying here, we loved it so much.
