The home was beautiful and spacious; its such a unique space with modern amenities and historical charm. Everyone in our group said they had the best sleep ever; the beds were really comfortable and the shutters allowed the rooms to get very dark. We loved the open garden and all of the thoughtful treats they left for us. Both the furnishings and the decorations around the home are very nice- you really feel like you're in someone's tastefully decorated home. As other reviewers have mentioned the house is on a somewhat busy street (busy by Sao Miguel standards), so there was some traffic noise during the day, but during the evening it was very quiet. There is not a lot walkable from the house, but it was very conveniently located for us to drive around and explore the entire island; and it came with a very easy parking spot- which is nice after all of the tight parking around the island! We'd love to stay here again and we would recommend it to others.

This location was perfect as a home base for our trip to Sao Miguel. We had rented a car and any part of the island was less than an hour drive away. This made it very easy for us to get out hiking, eat at one of the various delicious restaurants across the island, explore one of the many beautiful beaches and then return home and still be within walking distance of Praia de Agua d’Alto if we wanted to keep going. If it’s a rainy day, you’re nearby Furnas and could easily enjoy some time in the thermal baths. Highly recommend booking if this great location is available for even a portion of your stay in the Açores!

Beautiful home in a quiet, peaceful location. Well-supplied kitchen, easy to use appliances. We had a fair amount of rain while we were there so we did not use the pool at all, but it was a lovely yard space with beautiful views.

Incredible stay! Joana’s place is just as pictured, but the pictures don’t capture the beauty and tranquility of her home. The house is tucked back in a hill with an ocean view. Easy to find with the GPS. Parking across the street with 4 children in tow, we were mindful of the road, but there was never an issue. We found it to be a convenient home base for our trip. Joana was very easy to communicate with. Check in and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our kids loved exploring the grounds and being surrounded by nature. Home is well equipped to cook and relax. Bonus has a washer and dryer which was needed after adventuring through the island. If we are ever lucky enough to come back to the green island we would stay here again.
