The treehouse is at the very edge of Walker Pond. You are welcome to enjoy our 40 acres of forest/wetland, go canoeing in our canoe, soak in the custom made cedar hot tub, or just enjoy having a private holiday. The treehouse is located just 5 minutes from downtown Newport and is 22 minutes to Jay Peak Ski Resort.
Walker Pond treehouse is partially supported by two White Pines that are along the shoreline of Walker Pond. The treehouse has a main level, consisting of a kitchen area, sitting space, and a bathroom. Climb the winding tree staircase to the bedroom into the bedroom, which has a cathedral ceiling exposed with hand hewn cedar rafters. This room has a queen size bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted LCD TV, reading bench, and a tiny closet. There is plenty of glass and windows, so you get the best views of the pond and field. Sunny/breezy afternoons bring the sparkle of the pond into the treehouse. It really is beautiful! Unique in design, this rustic treehouse will be fully functioning with all the essentials provided to make your stay comfortable. Also included, there will be a private deck overlooking the pond, a rustic hot tub, mini kitchen, grill, TV, etc. You will have access to the land and pond, so we invite you to go on a nature walk or go canoeing. You never know what kinds of animals you might see! So far we have seen moose, deer, bear, turkey, geese, ducks, heron, owls, otter, huge turtles, fish, and frogs.... just to name a few. Get your camera ready! While we border 20 acres of farmland, you may often see cows grazing. They are very peaceful and may greet you if they see that you are offering them grass.
Newport is a beautiful town that is growing and it is the gateway between New England and Canada. The city lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog. On the western side of the 30-mile lake rises Owl’s Head. Its 3,360 foot summit offers impressive views. There is plenty to do and see while visiting. From bicycling, fishing, hunting, paddling, sailing, boating, horseback riding to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Newport, Vermont is a mecca of outdoor recreation year round. Newport also has fine great restaurants on the water and artisan local foods for all you foodies out there. Jay Peak Mountain and Resort is only 17 miles away. You can visit any time of the year. Of course, they have skiing and riding, but all year round they have an indoor water park, ice arena, spa, restaurants, and shopping.
  • This place changes you. It’s the most beautiful and relaxing cabin and every detail takes this place from a house to a home. We felt like we moved in for 2 days and had no worries! It’s so clean and you can just feel the love that was put into making it. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax or have your morning coffee while watching the view of the snow, lake and trees surrounding you. The kitchen was full of everything you need to make any meal your heart desires. There are plenty of markets in Newport - about an 8min drive away. Thanks for the Pick and Shovel recommendation! It was a great store that had everything you need and we picked up a nice pair of snow pants and some cute slippers to wear in the treehouse. The bed was so comfortable! The shower was refreshing and we loved the tea tree shampoo and conditioner. And finally, the homemade waffles. The Apple are our favorite and they ended the trip on the best note.

  • Such a great getaway. It was a birthday trip for my husband and he really enjoyed hot tub, which was amazing.

    Yaerin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was such an amazing get a away. We were blown away by the Treehouse. Everything was clean and neat. The scenery was amazing, being surrounded by nature and watching the snow fall while drinking your morning coffee was sublime. All the personal touches really made it so cozy and unique, all they're hard work and craftmanship were noticeable. From the hot tub to the waffles, everything was great. Andrew was very helpful and answered all our questions about the treehouse and whats around town with no problem. If you're looking for the perfect nature get away, you've found it! The trip is worth it.

  • Such a cute place to get away for the weekend! Andrew & Marilou were very responsive and kind upon check in. We looking forward to coming back in the summer!

  • The most stunning air bnb we have ever stayed in! Worth every dollar.

    Justine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying here and we love it. Such a gorgeous and unique place and so private and quiet. Totally worth the wait (as they book out-it’s a popular place 😊) 🌳🏠

    Danny2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew met us when we arrived late from Buffalo. He showed us around and told us a little bit about the place before he left. The tree house was absolutely beautiful. Pushed far off the road where you can’t hear any cars or trucks. The snow made the hot tub so enjoyable. Fireplace was a great touch. We played board games that were up in the bedroom and went to some of the local restaurants that Andrew recommended for dinner. I know this place is booked out a full year in advance but I’d do it all over again and plan to. BOOK THIS PLACE NOW

Tiny, cozy, off-grid camp cabin on 14 acres in an old orchard clearing in the forest in the Lake Willoughby town of Westmore. Being off-grid, the cabin has no electricity, heats with a wood stove, and facilities are an outhouse with a composting toilet. Nestled in the majestic Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, sleep tucked in a loft. In the warmer months, have a glass of wine by the fire under the stars, in winter, by the wood stove. Enjoy... See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=574OLxvJmYM
In the warm months, stomp the streams that run the property and put your toes in Lake Willoughby as you sip coffee in the morning. Throughout the year, draw water from the stream. Launch your kayak or go mountain biking. In the winter months, cross-country or downhill ski at Burke, Craftsbury, local state and national parks, or Kingdom Trails Association. Fat bike winter or summer. Enjoy...
Our neighborhood consists of a few homes which share Coles Mountain and the eye-popping views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. There is a golf course run by Mr. Cole, who is a maple sugaring master, born on the mountain some time ago. There is an amazing wedding venue called the Little Wedding Barn run by his daughter with stunning views.
  • Wonderful place! Very quiet region with good trekking. We had a very good stay. The communication with Amy is very simple and all the instructions are very clear. I really recommend this place.

  • Really great off the grid location, beautiful in the Fall. Would come back again!

    Laura2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time ! This place is awesome if you want to relax surrounded by the nature <3 :-)

    Steve2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect, adorable cabin. Clean and meticulously organized. A fun tree swing. Not as buggy as we expected. Convenient to Lake Willoughby but off the beaten path. The cutest, cleanest outhouse ever.

    Cristin2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a haven. You feel as if you're in your own magical world, a world that (thank you Amy and Fire Guru!) has been very thoughtfully arranged. The cabin, though small, feels inviting, cozy, and comforting, with everything in its right place. A stream runs nearby (a one minute walk into the forest) for a cool morning dip, and the lake is a pretty drive away (perhaps three minutes). I am eager to return!

    Jacob2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amy & Brian's cabin is one of the most magical places we've had the pleasure of staying. Not only is the cabin perfect, but the property it lies on is absolutely gorgeous. Think old growth apple trees under a deep blue sky, with a nice breeze blowing through the open field. It's off the beaten path, making it truly private, while also being just up the road from the lake and other amenities. The cabin itself was easy to find and even easier to relax into. It's one of those places where you just immediately feel at home. The care and planning that went into the property is quite apparent, with a beautiful (seriously) outhouse, outdoor solar shower, large stone-lined fire pit, picnic table w/ umbrella, chairs, wash basin, etc. There are mini gardens scattered about and birds chirping. It's truly a happy place to be. The nighttime revealed one of the clearest skies we've seen in a LONG time, with countless shooting stars. The spiral arms of the Milky Way were very visible. A thunderstorm rolled in around bedtime and lulled us to sleep. The sleeping loft has two large windows that push open so you can keep them open even during the rain. Like other reviews mention, the battery powered LED lighting (candles/led strips) are generously located in every nook of the cabin, along with solar lighting in front of the outhouse, making it more than easy to find your way outside or hang out and play card games in the cabin at night. Even if Lake Willoughby wasn't 5 minutes down the road, this place would be worth a stay, but seeing that the lake is so close, it just adds to the allure. We easily popped our kayak into the lake at the closest boat launch and adventured for hours. A quick trip to Lyndonville offered a wonderful diner for breakfast as well as lunch at a delicious deli/store, along with a little resupply at a local market. Do not hesitate to stay here. Unplug, relax, and revitalize.

    Matt2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beyond cute. If you're looking for a very peaceful getaway, this would be it.

    Jacquelyn2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to get away from it all. Amy’s tiny house was beautiful and felt like you had your own private oasis. Our time here flew by and we will definitely return to see this property in the winter.

  • We had a fabulous wintertime vacation experience at Jean and Bob's place. The house is clean and cozy and had absolutely everything we needed waiting for us. We felt welcomed with all of the thoughtful touches. Access to the lake was easy and wonderful. The windows are placed perfectly and give you a great view of both the lake and the woods. We use AirBnB all the time for work and vacation and we had are best experience yet!

    Luke2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jean and Bob are very welcoming. The chalet is very comfortable. The only problem was the wood stove on the ground floor, while the open area is on the second. The location is perfect. There is a trail behind the house in the forest which allows you to walk long enough.

    Francine2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage! Jean and Bob were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to be sure we could arrive in the snow by letting us come a day early, and even offered to help if we needed food or anything else after being snowed in. The kitchen had everything we needed and more to cook our own meals, and the wood stove was perfect and cozy for staying indoors on snowy days.

    Rebecca2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Although this trip was just for the weekend, it was one of my favorite places I've stayed yet (and I do a lot of traveling!). Jean & Bob made me feel like I was part of their family. I did a solo trip- just me and my pup- and we felt safe and welcomed the entire time. The home is cozy with magnificent views just all around. The lake is gorgeous, and the beautiful views from the bedrooms are wonderful as well. Excellent location, near many cute towns- very picturesque. The home has everything you need- even beer in the fridge! They also left treats for my pup. Snow boot Yak Traks too were left for me too, so I could walk in the snow (definitely buying some now). Jean left me little sticky notes for info and a local newspaper to learn more. They thought of it all. Kitchen has all of your cooking needs too. If you go to town and take the time to meet locals, you will have a chance to hear great stories and learn about local art and businesses. The nicest people you will ever meet - hands down. This town and area is a serious hidden gem. If you are scrolling past this and still considering, don't wait- just book. I am already looking at my calendar for when I can return. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

  • Very quaint and private space. We stayed at Jean & Bob's during the winter - it was a lovely experience and they were very accommodating. I can imagine it would be a great stay in the Fall, too. Great location right next to a huge lake, with various shops and restaurants just outside the neighborhood. Makes for an easy day trip to Montreal or Magog. House is very cozy with a fireplace and a wealth of sunlight. Highly recommend this stay and hope to be back soon!

    Dave2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Jean for letting us stay in your place, we def had a great time, enjoyed driving around town and relax for a few days. House was very nice and clean, and lake view was awesome. Sincerely, Evelyn

  • Highly recommended for a quiet escape!

    Justin2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had such a wonderful time at Jean and Bob's place. It was a quaint and homey cabin with a breathtaking view. It felt like we were staying with family instead of strangers. The hosts are next door and were there to help us with anything we needed, but weren't intrusive. The house is stocked with everything. It was perfect for us and our two littles. We spent a lot of time on the deck with the fire pit and down by the lake. There's plenty of cute towns to check out. We made day trips to Jay mountain tram, Cabot factory, Ben and Jerry's factory, and q maple syrup farm. Lake Willoughby beach was gorgeous. We kind of fell in love with Vermont and may have to come back again to see the fall colors. This was a wonderful chance to disconnect from everything and spend quality time with family affordably. Thank you for the hospitality!

Enjoy a quiet stay in the Vermont countryside. We live off a dirt road in a small town with plenty of land to explore. We are on 23 acres of forest and field and guests are free to roam about as they like. We have two indoor Australian Cattle dogs who are both friendly and harmless, but if you are not much of a dog person this might not be the right fit for you! Most of our time is spent outdoors or working, so the house is typically fairly quiet, and we are looking forward to sharing our home!
Although we live in a quiet town, driving 15-20 minutes in most directions will get you to different towns with stores, restaurants, lakes, parks, and places to explore such as; Newport, Derby, Barton, Orleans, Lake Willoughby. We are also about 25 minutes from the Canadian border, and 20 minutes to I-91.
  • It was a bit of a trek after a foot of snow but honestly not bad at all and we have 4wd but didn’t need it. Seriously transported! We had a fabulous stay. We had a long drive and just needed a quiet evening. It was snowing and beautiful! The dogs are very cute. They listen to their owners well. The room is like a small apartment. Very comfy bed and couch. Cute desk. And great view of tree line. I recommend a snowy stay! Bathroom is down stairs which could be a problem for some but not for us!

    Sarah May2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was an incredible host. She is truly pet friendly and the place is super cute! Did you know their walls are made of straw?! Strawbale construction?? Super cool! The house was well insulated from the freezing winter weather and the woodburning stove kept us nice and cozy throughout our stay. We bonded over The Office on Netflix and she even let our doggo out while we went skiing. Oh and her doggos, May and Shep, were super sweet and loving. Will definitely be back!

Magical timber frame cabin on private 75 acres nestled in the mountains ~ cross between a hobbit & tree house. Five minute drive down to pristine Lake Willoughby, 25 mins to world class mountain biking (kingdom trails), and 30 or 50 minute drive to ski resorts *Burke* and *Jay Peak*, respectively. Perfect for couples, friends & families who want to enjoy all Vermont's glorious Northeast Kingdom has to offer (ski, fish, hike, bike, swim, beer-cation, etc) while still getting away from it all.
3 THINGS PEOPLE LOVE about our HOME: 1 - The cabin is truly unique. A custom built timber frame, it feels a bit like a cross between a tree house and a hobbit house. Milled from trees on the property, guests have commented that the house “is out of a fairytale” and feels “like it grew out of the earth.” From the gracefully curved wood beams throughout, to the natural stone inside and out, to the sod (grass) roof, to the private 75 acres that are yours to roam, it is a truly special place - an ultra private and peaceful retreat. The two-story stone fireplace is awesome and the open floor plan allows you to enjoy each other's company with plenty of room to hang out and make memories. 2 - The area is simply amazing. Listed in NYTimes best seller "1000 Places to See Before You Die", the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) is spectacular. You will find some of the most beautiful spots in the NEK are minutes away from our property. There is something for everyone, for every season: hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, beach, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling (VAST), craft beer hunting, and foliage viewing. And one glimpse of the night sky (away from those city lights) will *literally* take your breath away (it is a MUST SEE! Trust me: Do not leave without taking in the night sky on a clear night). 3 - Our private woods are beautiful. Many guests have commented on how peaceful the location is and have enjoyed exploring and hiking the property itself (see reviews). Discover local wildlife in the beaver pond in your backyard or walking the property. Sightings include: moose, black bears, fox, among others. A walk in the winter will always reveal fresh tracks in the snow. We also have a fire pit, a BBQ, picnic table, hammock, and plenty of space to run around - all of which makes for a great spot to spend time outdoors with family and friends. 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting: 1 - Our home is in the woods and it is off the beaten path. You will be happiest here if you are looking for a secluded and remote experience connected to nature. Frankly, we are in the sticks and that's how we like it:-) If the prospect of encountering wildlife (big or small- mosquitos to moose) is alarming, it may not be the place for you. Although the house is located near many desirable NEK activities, don't expect to find a Starbucks on our street corner. Big box stores are about 25 mins away in Derby (north) or Lyndonville (south), and there are plenty of other towns within 30 mins to explore. That said, there is the local country store at 10 mins (open year round) that has a great craft beer and wine selection, sandwiches, gas, and everything else your could possibly need- including friendly conversation. Come summer, they have an ice-cream window with just about the best ice-cream you have ever had. There is also a nice restaurant at the Willoughvale inn (also at ~10 mins). *Note*: Local places close at ~9pm; the perfect time to head home for a cozy night in. 2 - During mud season (spring thaw) and winter you will be happiest with a 4 wheel drive/an SUV . The driveway to the house is a half mile up a *dirt road*. We take care to keep the road plowed and clear, but remember ...this IS snow country! And there is only so much we can do to control mud. Also, if you can arrive during daylight hours, it will make your first encounter driving to the house more relaxed. 3. There is no cell service at the house. So if you want to be disconnected, you have a good excuse! We do have reliable high speed internet and you can connect your phone wirelessly; there is also a phone/land line for your use.
This stunning property is surrounded by glorious mountain views, no shortage of wildlife and plenty of space to roam. The breathtaking scenery surrounding the area is constantly changing with the seasons. Swim, fish, bike, hike, ski- it is all at you fingertips from this ultra private retreat. It's the perfect spot to enjoy many outdoor activities all year round!
  • My goodness, this space is beyond sublime. A true getaway, so quiet and peaceful and the light within the space is gorgeous. If it's possible, it's even more stunning in person than in the photos. Thank you Michelle for such a needed and appreciated escape!

  • This place is amazing!! It is as beautiful, rustic and cozy as it appears in the pictures. Heated floors, fireplace fully stocked with firewood, very clean and well-maintained. Michelle is an extremely responsive and detailed hostess. One warning: if you go in winter DEFINITELY bring a 4WD or AWD vehicle. We went with 2 cars: a mini-cooper and a subaru impreza, and only the impreza made it to the house. Bonus: we skiied down the driveway. Thanks Michelle. We will be back in the fall :)

    Evan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place off the beaten path and we found it! The cabin is so unique with all the comforts of home and the best fireplace we’ve ever seen! Our daughter LOVED the loft. We loved the spacious living area! Our dog loved the freedom to run around outside uninhibited. Michelle was incredibly responsive and accommodating. We all look forward to visiting again!

  • We enjoyed three nights at this wonderful cabin. Upon arrival, our initial reaction was that the pictures do not do it justice!! Great location that is very remote and peaceful. The cabin was everything we expected and more.

  • Fantastic house to get away from it all. We came here in the middle of winter. The house is toasty warm with underfloor heating and an amazing log fire. You'll need a proper 4wd to get to get up the snowy road in winter. The house is dog friendly too which is nice and our dogs had a great time running around outside. Michelle was a great host, friendly and easy to get hold of. The house has wifi but no phone reception. There are nice walks to do a short distance away.

  • Had another nice stay at Mom's house (we were there last Fall). The snow and cold prevented us from doing what we had planned but Mom's house was toasty warm. It snowed for 3 days and Ron made sure we were plowed out. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and the dogs loved having a safe place to run. We hope to come back in the Spring or Summer when more hiking trails are accessible.

    Jen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far the best Air BNB locaction I have stayed in. My father & I came up to snowmobile and this beautiful homestead is a snowmobilers paridise. The house was cute, with amazing views...you can't beat it. Farmer Ron was so generous and kind with some truck problems. He was super quick to help and make sure we were all set to go! I will be back before the snow melts for another trip!

    Kalie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was nestled at the top of a dead end road. Very quiet and breathtaking views. Sentinal Rock state park is a stones throw away. We would reccomend to anyone looking to explore Vermont's Northeat Kingdom.

  • Moms House When you go that far into the country, and up a dead end road you somehow disconnect, and a relaxed pace falls over you. So nice to slow down and soak in the Panoramic views of the mountains. Moms House is just like being at my grandmothers house, with every homey touch you could dream of! Super clean, smells good, comfy bed, full kitchen for meals. Debbie is very quick with responses and very reliable to set everything up perfectly for your stay at Mom’s House❤️

  • Sherry and Greg have a great spot! Lake Seymour is the cleanest lake in VT!!! The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need. We had a rainy cold day one of our days, and it was so nice to hunker down, cook and play games. Comfy beds, and a beautiful view. We even saw a loon! A really special part of Vermont. We’ll be back!

  • Sherry and Greg's camp is just beautiful! What a perfect spot for life on the lake! Sherry has everything you need and more just stocked at the camp which was a nice surprise. There are so many thoughtful touches throughout the camp, very clean and comfortable. The screened in porch is amazing on hot summer days. Can't wait to come back! Thank you!

  • Very nice house that corresponds perfectly to the description and photos. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the paddle board. The location of the house is exceptional.

  • Sherry and Greg’s lakefront camp on Seymour Lake in Morgan, Vermont is a little piece of paradise. They met us upon our arrival and they are simply good people. We immediately felt at home. The three bedroom camp is both charming and cozy- it boasts lots of vintage charm mixed with a cool, beach cottage feel. Just pack your swimsuit, beach towels and toothbrush and enjoy the private beachfront, dock, crystal clear lake water and excellent swimming, paddling, boating and fishing. The dock is a great place to read, and enjoy the passing loons, ducks, eagles and beautiful sunsets. The water is pristine and of the highest quality. You can’t go wrong renting this camp, meeting the gracious hosts and neighbors, and enjoying your lake time in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

  • Great rustic cabin with a neat and homey interior and a pretty yard with flowers and lights. Everything you need to have a great time is at the cabin. Magazines, crossword puzzles, games & puzzles, campfire pit, grill, paddleboard, kayaks, nice long dock, water trampoline, plenty of floats, and a DVD collection for rainy days. Great view of the lake from the living room and screened in porch. Lake Seymour is beautiful and clean. Lake Willoughby, another gorgeous lake, is within a half hour of the camp. There are also some nice hiking options within a half-hour of the camp. We hiked Mount Pisgah, which is next to Lake Willoughby. Neighbors are close in proximity, as you would expect with a lake camp, but trees separate each camp.

    Liv2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a very clean, well organized camp, it was so peaceful that we never once turned on the radio, they have everything you need, just bring your food & beverage and I guarantee you will be in heaven, there neighbors on both sides were so friendly and helpful, you couldn't ask for a better host than in Sherry

The house was extremely clean, came with plenty of towels and excellent internet. The pond also has a floating dock which is easy to swim out to. We loved our stay!

Come and embrace the majestic beauty of Vermont from Sugar Hill, a quaint log cabin nestled on 24 acres of beautiful countryside. Enjoy the views of the Canadian mountains from the front porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine; or wander around the pasture or woods behind the cabin. Close to both Jay Peak and downtown Newport, you can enjoy all those locations have to offer, or simply relax. Please note that the stairs to the 2nd floor are steeper than usual.

  • If you want to be immersed in rural Vermont and get the detachment from your hectic life then Colleen and Jon's spot is the place for you. With very personal touches and quick responses to any inquiry you have expect to feel spoiled Sutton. We were hoping to rent some snowshoes to trek around the property, and our hosts provided their own - you're dealing with some genuine people to say the least. Can't give this listing a better rating, and we certainly hope to return in the future!

Birdhous in the heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Right off of Route 16 and less than a mile from interstate 91 for easy access to area attractions or rest along your route. This season, we're offering our guests room by room rentals, hoping to connect more with and to bring better energy into our hous than has been offered when renting the whole place as a private space. To note: we offer all of our bedrooms this way and you are likely to be sharing spaces with other budget Airbnb guests.
This home functions as a residential agricultural incubator in the warm months and is available as a cozy nest for travelers during the cold ones. Our hous is a budget, no-frills, basic amenities kind of place, but we'll be happy to rise to the occasion if you let us know what you need! The toilet is separate from the bath to allow for long uninterrupted periods in the tub.
  • This is a perfect place to stay if you just need a place to sleep without expecting too much. The beds are comfortable, there’s plenty of towels in the bathroom and you’re close to the highway. The stairs and doors are a bit creaky but you are in an old farmhouse. I would easily stay here again. Tip: Go to The Parker Pie Company (7 mins away) for great beer and pizza!

    Austin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the farmhous was good. It is very farmy. The cats are extremely friendly and will try to be your friend instantly! Jes is helpful and responsive. The room is spacious, minimalist, and clean, adequate for a night to rest before hitting the road, and the living/dining room space is comfortable as well. If you are looking for privacy, this place is less ideal, as you can hear what is going on in the other rooms and in the bathroom, and the staircase leading to the room (there are 2 on 2nd floor) is creaky. All in all, good place for good value.

    Meilani2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a true farmhouse. Well worth for the price

    Emily2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean. Helpful, functional touches with hooks, mirrors, table surfaces, and power extension cord in bedroom. Great communication. No frills, cost-friendly, exactly what I was looking for.

    Lisa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Good value

    Dominic2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place comes at an unbelievable value! The pictures are a very accurate depiction of the space, it was what I had expected and more! The living area is very nice, very comfy living room. The kitchen is perfect for a short term stay. The room was comfortable, and the beds were clean and there were plenty of covers to keep warm. The house is well heated and the wifi has great speed. Jess provides a nice library in the living room and a very comfortable couch. The bathroom is a little small, but at such a great price, you can’t ask for anything more! Everything that Jess provides for at this price is simply incredible! This is the best deal I’ve ever found on Airbnb! I would definitely recommend!

Mere steps from the rushing Passumpsic River and with clear views of Burke Mountain Ski Resort, enjoy the quiet and cozy guest suite of this sun soaked Chalet home. Located a few miles north of the Village of East Burke off Vermont Route 114, this location offers quick and easy access to Burke Mountain, Kingdom Trials and the VAST trail system. Set on 13 quiet and private acres bordered by the river, it is great for enjoying a waterside campfire, hiking the woods or having a summer swim.
This suite consists of a combination living room, kitchenette, dinette. Also a bathroom and bedroom which sleeps 5 containing a queen bed and a bunk bed with a queen bottom bunk and twin top bunk. Two internet connected TVs are available in the space, one in the bedroom and one in the living room.
  • Sevren's place is a oasis for weary travellers.

    Meg2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • I was one of the first guests to stay at this new place in Burke. I found it to be a really great value. It is just a few minutes north of Burke Mtn, East Burke, and Kingdom Trails. It has wonderful views of Burke Mtn. The space is, well, very spacious, occupying the entire basement area of the house, with a big living room, big bedroom, and big bathroom area. Groups with lots of ski, climbing, or other gear will really appreciate the space for sorting, drying, and organizing gear. The bedroom has a large bed (queen?) and a bunk bed. There is a Roku TV screen in there (no TV in the living room, but TV isn't why you go to the Northeast Kingdom). The kitchen area, which is essentially part of the large living room area, is a bit limited, so keep your meal prep simple. The hosts are quite friendly and communicative, while allowing you your privacy. All in all, this new offering in Burke is an excellent value and a fantastic value--I highly recommend booking it for your Northeast Kingdom adventures.

Cozy, classic lake cottage on Willoughby Lake in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, welcomes swimmers and boaters to its clean, clear waters. Sheltered by Mount Pisgah on the east and Mount Hor on the west, Willoughby resembles a fjord, a mile wide and six and half miles long. Enjoy nearby hiking, mountain biking, and golfing at some of the most beautiful courses in the northeast. The cottage offers lakeside privacy with a large yard bordered by privacy hedges. Easy access to water.
Cozy 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and new sleeper sofa (2018) in living room - sleeps 6 (maximum capacity). 1st bedroom has queen bed and 2nd bedroom has two twin beds. Sleeper sofa in living room will sleep two. Two kayaks are available for use.
  • Our stay at Lake Willoughby was amazing, the accommodations were as listed, the views AMAZING and peaceful! The ability to use the kayaks and have a nice little yard to have quiet mornings and nights by the fire was perfect! We would definitely return for another get away! I forgot a bag and Molly was super helpful and responsive and it was shipped the next day! Great hosts and communication! Our entire family as well as the two dogs enjoyed our stay!

For a short time a special discount will be offered for any three night stay during this winter. Now is the time to enjoy a winter in the Northeast Kingdom. 10-15% discount when booked. This spacious house is overlooking Lake Willoughby with breath taking views. The house is on a dead end road. My place is good for couples, business travelers, and families. While relaxing in the Great room enjoy the ever changing views including wildlife. So much to explore and do in the North East Kingdom.
The bathrooms have recently been remodeled and the kitchen is next. We are offering the house at a reduced rate until the kitchen is done. The three season enclosed porch does have a pull out couch for those who enjoy waking up to the sunrise. The Great room with the covered porch is most guests favorite where they spend time relaxing enjoying the breath-taking views.
Lake Willoughby, Westmore is a very special area with so much natural beauty. Hiking trails, beaches, local fairs, farmers markets, and special celebrations allow opportunities for you to enjoy the area. Burke Mountain is 30 minutes away and Jay Peak is an hour away.

    Alexandre2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Donna’s beautiful home. Even with it being winter time, it was absolutely amazing. The views were unbelievable. The home was impeccable. Very clean. It was just simply a perfect stay! I especially loved the shower and tub to relax in! Plus Donna was very responsive, immediately answered my messages and was wonderful to deal with. Highly recommend checking out her beautiful home and enjoy a great stay! I will be back for fall time😍

    Jourdan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I were looking for a quiet getaway after the holidays. Donna’s place was perfect! We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and looking out at the insanely beautiful view. The updated master bathroom has a steam shower which was a pleasant surprise. Donna was a great host and provided info about the area. We had never heard of Lake Willoughby before and were totally surprised by their resemblance to Norwegian fjords (Stunning glacial lake between two mountains). We hiked Mount Pisgah, well worth it for the view!

    Jessie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Donna’s house is at a great location!! We enjoyed the sun set from living room couch, and played games by the fireplace!! And everyone loved the standing shower in the Master bathroom!! This is perfect spot to enjoy winter and summer activities!! The house was very clean!! Luckily sky was so clean and we were able to do star gazing from out side of the house!! This was something not planned so this was surprise for us!! Since this area is kind a remote if you are coming from city then the “Willoughby Lake Store” has almost everything if you forget any basic things to take it with you.

    Harsh2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! We had a lovely girls weekend. Super comfortable and cozy. Loved the fireplace and the cozy couch, comfy beds and stunning view from the front porch. Beautiful spot. The Kent family cottage is located on the shore of Lake Willoughby which is touted to be the finest lake in Vermont. We have a new Honda 5 HP motorboat and a 17-foot O-Day sailboat. The 750-foot private beach may be the finest in New England for an inland body of water. The cottage has been totally renovated to maintain the ambiance of the early 20th century. The cottage is private and secluded as is the beach. Both command beautiful views. The cottage faces the sunset and the beach the sunrise.
Our cottage has been in the family since 1906 and has undergone 30 years of renovation from roof to electric to painting (each year) and restoration of original furniture. Guests are enthralled with the ambiance of the early 20th century, and we have received many fine reviews, mostly listed on homeaway.com with 5-star ratings. We have many returnees which generally start the season half reserved.
The Town of Westmore is very modest with a Community House, Town Clerk's Office, Church and the Westmore store with ample supplies, gas pumps, boat gasoline and an ice cream bar. Two mountains border the lake and the shoreline of Mt. Hoar probably has not changed in the last 5000 years. Mt Pisgah on the east side of the pale is popular for mountain hiking and offers grand views from the summit.

Clyde River Farm & Forest's secluded Northeast Kingdom river retreat, the Clyde River House provides stunning views, shoreline, numerous birds, including bald eagles, nesting osprey, blue herons, and a pair of loons. Canoes and kayaks available for your use. Hiking, biking, cross country, downhill skiing trails, and snowmobile trails are within a short hike or drive of the house. Check out the many seasons of the Clyde River House. There's sure to be a time for you to visit!
The Clyde River House is a beautiful 4-season Northern Vermont hideaway retreat. In addition to the three bedrooms (1 king bed, 2 rooms with matching singles) there is a full-size pullout couch in the living room area for an additional 2 guests (total 8 guests welcome with an extra charge of $20/person). Please take a look at our website under Vermont Leadership Partnership! (website hidden)
The Northeast Kingdom is famed for its 4-season natural beauty. The house sits right on the Clyde River, with many coves to explore in one of our canoes or kayaks. The Clyde is part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, so you may see through paddlers passing through on the river. Burke Mountain is a 20 minute drive for family friendly and challenging terrain skiing and snowboarding. Burke also offers world class mountain biking trails for year round enjoyment. The spring and summer at the Clyde River house offer numerous viewings of birds, including a pair of osprey, their nests, a pair of loons, bald eagles, blue heron, and many more. Fall provides you with stunning views of Vermont's fall foliage right from the river, as well as scenic drives. Winter brings beautiful snow, with ice skating right on the river and snowshoeing or cross country skiing right out the front door and ski trails right next door at Northwoods Stewardship Center. Hiking trails abound in the area, as do lakes for all kinds of water fun. Northwoods Stewardship Center (founded by Bill and Pat) boasts winter cross country ski and snowshoe trails, groomed and accessible from the River House itself, as well as wonderful summer camps for your children. Jay Peak Ski resort and Water Park is 45 minutes away. Spring and summertime canoeing and kayaking, biking, etc. are a glorious way to spend a vacation - all right out your front door. And no one needs to spend much time highlighting the absolutely glorious fall foliage 'leaf peeper' tourist pastime that hits 'The Kingdom' each September and October. Vermont has the best foliage season in the country and your personal stove and wood supply make fall evenings cozy. There is so much more to discover in the quaint, historic, and naturally beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
  • Beautiful space, attentive host, clean and cozy! It was nice being off the grid for a couple days. Would love to see it in other seasons.

  • Once again, the River House was the place where we could go to "get away from it all," rest, reconnect with each other, and recharge. This was our third visit - we love the quiet, the forced "disconnect" (we LOVE that there's no wifi or cell reception!), watching the river, walks up the drive. This was our first winter visit, and it was magical. We read books and watched movies, sat in front of the wood fire, and focused on time together. Thanks so much for this wonderful retreat!

  • The river house is off the beaten path a bit, but it’s peaceful, quiet and cozy! Pat was a wonderful host and stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. The house is clean and roomy and has pretty much everything you’d need.

  • We fell in love with this accommodation! The chalet is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need. Daphnee is adorable and communication is very easy and fast. There were little touches for our arrival! And the spa under the stars ... sick! We will return as soon as possible

    Camille2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • How to say ... There is not one aspect of the reservation at Daphnee which was disappointing! The loft is located in a quiet and heavenly location, 4 minutes from Mount Pinnacle which offers a magnificent view and which is easy to access. Daphnee herself was most sympathetic and attentive. Full of little touches we expected in addition to the fully functional equipment on site. Without hesitation I will return if I wish to go to the region!

    David2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our little romantic getaway went very well. The loft was perfect for two people, clean and very well equipped. Our hostess has always been available and helpful. Several hikes can be done in the surrounding area which is great for lovers of the outdoors and nature. Do it again without hesitation!

  • This is a great little cabin. It does get tight with two people and sports gear (ice climbing), but a nice kitchen space, which is useful since there’s not much dining in the area. A great place for enjoying Lake Willoughby.

    Kel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space for two. Affordable and within easy distance to the area's fun outdoor amenities. For those sensitive to sound, do note that the furnace hums around 35 dBA periodically.

  • Nancy’s house is just the sweetest place. All you can dream for in a birthday retreat weekend. Yes! Million dollar view!

    Isa2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful scenic views combined with a cozy cabin having all the right touches.

    John2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy’s place is so beautiful. The view is astonishing !! It’s a perfect getaway if you want a quiet and calm time. The private access to the lake is so great. We stayed the whole day on the deck and at night staring at the stars. Nancy was super reactive for any questions regarding the house or the area. I would definitely go back again and recommend it. Just so you know, Nancy was with her husband on the 1st unit of the house but we didn’t hear them at all. Thank you again!

    Juliette2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is nicely furnished with vintage furniture. We enjoyed the view from the rockers!

    Judy2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Charming lakefront cabin. Everything was very clean. Comfortable bed, good heat, if needed. Great views up the lake. Newport has undergone many positive changes over the last years and has a lovely walkway along the lake, a bike trail to Canada and some new restaurants. We were impressed with the upgrades to the town. Also, the dairy farm areas with high rolling hills and broad valleys, to the west of town, are gorgeous..this would be a great, probably less crowded, fall foliage area to visit!! The cabin is in a semi-suburban rather than wilderness setting, but neighbors were very quiet...perhaps not even around. Nice selection of books, in case you forget yours!

    Nicola2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful experience! Nancy and Jon went above and beyond to make us feel welcome in their beautiful cabin.

    Kate2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location with the perfect amount of space to settle into. Extremely clean and all the amenities are included. The whole place has been mindfully decorated. Nancy and Jon were gracious hosts who were on site during our visit. They offered suggestions for things to do in the area. The walk to the border on Lake Road was gorgeous and well worth the time. The view and access to the lake couldn't be better. The only problem that we had with this place is that we didn't stay longer. We loved our stay and look forward to staying there again!

  • I had a wonderful stay at Lynn's. Her place is cozy, well-appointed, very clean, and well-located. She is quick to respond and very thoughtful. She offered to provide me with almond milk to go with the granola at breakfast as I did not want yogurt. I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Here at "Downstairs at the BGV" I'm looking to the future when travel is safe, and healthy adventure is possible again. At the moment though, booking through April 30, is not permitted in this community, for anything other than emergent care providers. To comply, I have blocked off all days in April. If you are a health provider required here, please reach out and I will get back with you to discuss it. Thank you and be safe. Tim
This private suite on the first floor, below the "Big Green Victorian - Upstairs" apartment, offers a large comfortable living room, complete with Cable, DVD, WiFi, and a '60's record player, with vinyls. The bedroom has a Queen-size bed and attached bath (with linens, towels...). A private screened in porch offers an additional social area (depending on the weather!). The temperature in the suite is 68 degrees with high ceilings. Sitting and watching television or reading or ... may be a bit chilly, but there are plenty of lap blankets. But you might want to bring a sweater if you run cold. However, to date no one has commented on the temperature. Some guests have commented that the bathroom is small. Perhaps. I like to think of it as being compact. It has all you need, tub/shower, toilet, sink, and a place to put things. This is an old house with the original bathroom, which was for function not necessarily for comfort. And that, is part of its charm! "Downstairs at the BGV" also has a microwave, and small refrigerator stocked with water. Fresh muffins and fruit provided on first morning of stay, with restaurant recommendations close by. As for coffee, there are three options available: 1. A coffee maker with Green Mountain Coffee can be placed in the space; 2. If you have pods, a Keurig can be placed; 3. If you like coffee but rather not make it, I can provide you with a carafe of fresh brewed coffee each morning (I get up early and it's not a problem at all). A device for boiling water can also be made available for those who prefer Tea. There is an air conditioner in the living room window (placed generally around the first of June and removed mid October).
Newport itself, sits at the southern end of Lake Memphremagog, an Indian name meaning (and fitting), "beautiful waters." From the "BGV" you're a 5-minute walk/ski to the lake where, if you have snowshoes or cross-country skis, can traverse in a variety of directions once the lake is frozen. Best to check before you proceed though. However, cross-country skiing on the bike path is permitted. The top of the lake is in Magog, PQ (Canada), a charming, French Canadian city, 40 minutes away by car. Along the way, the trip takes you through some of the lovely Eastern Township communities providing a variety of seasonal offerings. A passport is required.
  • Conveniently located, terrific amenities, and super hospitality. Tim does a phenomenal job and we were super excited to stay at BGV downstairs for the 2nd year in a row.

  • Charming little place in the heart of Newport, not my first visit to Tim's and it won't be my last, can't wait to come back!

    Stephen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • On a cold winter's day this was a wonderful place to be. Morning coffee by the bay window looking over the winter wonderland was perfect. Tim was more than gracious. Means for our morning coffee were provided. Muffins from a local bakery were delicious. Chatting with Tim and learning the house history was great! The space was very clean! The bed comfortable! The local was perfect! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there in future.

  • Tim's place is a dream and an absolute refuge during my work trip to Newport. Tim has thought of everything and it feels like a true New England bed and breakfast experience. Some nice restaurants are within a quick walking distance and Tim supplies coffee every morning. Next time I am in the area, I will definitely be booking my stay here again.

Our lakefront cottages are located on Lake Willoughby, in Vermont’s scenic Northeast Kingdom. We have aluminum rowing boats, tennis court, basketball and ping pong table. You can rent or bring your own canoes/kayaks, or if you have a motor boat or sailboat, we have mooring capability too. We are really close of hiking and mountain bike trails. In the fall, this is a great time to hike, enjoy the changing Foliage. After watching sunset, you can enjoy a cozy evening in front of your fireplace.
  • Great location for a family vacation with young children. Easy to relax!

  • My boyfriend and I had a very, very relaxing weekend stay at one of Renee’s beautiful cabins. Renee is very sweet, helpful, and is available if you need anything. The cabin is very clean. We loved having the fire place going the whole weekend, it set the relaxing mood we were going for. The property is absolutely stunning, the views of the lake and surrounding mountains are unexplainable. We are already looking into coming back in the summer. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Nicole2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was really cute and it was right in the lake and just perfect for the weekend.

    Paul2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • These are wonderful housekeeping cabins that are at the water's edge of the lake. The cabin was clean and comfortable with rustic accommodations. And did I say clean??? Our cabin overlooked the lake, and there was a dock with a row boat available if we wanted it. The cabin faces west, so the sunsets are jaw dropping. We totally enjoyed the ambiance of the fire in the fireplace one evening. Renee provided the firewood and newspaper to start the fire. Renee is a fantastic host. She responded to messages within an hour, gave accurate directions, met us when we arrived, and continued to check in with us to make sure everything was perfect. She provided many suggestion as to locations we might like to visit. Oh, and did I say the cabin was clean??? Thank you Renee!

  • Amazing time at the lake! Beautiful location, charming cottage with everything we needed, great family memories made and we can’t wait to return! My kind of camping too- warm and cozy, clan, no mosquitos!

    Taryn2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, water is easily accessible. Our little cabin was perfect for our needs; we spent the whole day out on the water and came back at dark to make some dinner and enjoy a cozy fire. We will definitely be returning in the future. Renee made everything so easy for us and was so sweet.

    Chelsea2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Renee's cabins are truly a gem! Not only are they the cleanest cabins I have ever seen but the location is beautiful! Renee is the warmest and most hospitable host you could imagine. She makes you feel extremely welcomed and almost part of the family. It was clear to me from interacting with other guests that they have the same experience and return year after year. We woke up in the morning and had coffee on the porch overlooking the lake before doing some paddle boarding/kayaking (great local rental place that delivers them right to your door- Renee also has row boats available for free). We spent our days swimming, lounging in the sun on the hammock, the Adirondack chairs or even just sprawled out in the lawn, eating dinner at our picnic table, and warming up by the fire in our cabin when it got chilly. Renee made on incredible bonfire on Friday night right in front of the water which was probably our favorite part of our entire vacation. Renee has books and games available to borrow and she even left muffins on our doorstep the last morning. The sunsets here are unreal and it feels like time passes at a completely different pace. Could not have asked for a more wonderful experience! This was our second year going here after finding it randomly on airbnb and I am confident it won't be the last!

    Sylvie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rachid’s place is cosy but comfortable, bright and very clean. Even in very cold weather the entire place managed to heat very quickly. The cottage is on a hill overlooking the bay: it has a large balcony which would be great in the summertime. We enjoyed our weekend stay and would definitely consider renting again. Communicating with Rachid is easy; he answers very quickly and we appreciated the fact that he was flexible for checking in/out

  • Excellent week-end ! Rachid's chalet is magnificent: very cozy and well decorated, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen perfectly equipped and the location unbeatable: by the lake and only 35 minutes by car from Mont Orford National Park. We were a group of 6, which is the max capacity for the chalet (bathroom quite small but quite practical). Rachid was particularly attentive and extremely helpful, spending several times over the weekend dropping us off with little things that we were missing, responding very quickly to our messages and even sending us suggestions for activities in the surroundings. We will be back!

Renovated barn from 1903 located in the center of the beautiful village of Ayers Cliff. Only 2 minutes from Lake Massawippi, 15 minutes from Magog, 15 minutes from the USA, 1h15 from Montreal Close to bike path, trail, grocery, butcher shop, SAQ and many activities like Foresta Lumina ... You will love staying in this unique space!
Before starting, here are 3 things that people love about our barn that is located at the heart of the village of Ayers Cliff: 1 - The location is just perfect. We are at the center of everything and you can walk anywhere in the village from our house. 2 - Our building has a lot of character. The barn was built in the year 1903 and we have totally renovated it to live there for the last 20 years. The second floor is laid out as a loft and offers plenty of natural light due to the large windows. 3 - The place is SPACIOUS and has retained its original architectural cachet with its HIGH 12 FEET CEILINGS, PINE WOOD FLOORS, KITCHEN & MODERN BATHROOM. The backyard allows you to enjoy the most beautiful days of summer outdoors with our water garden, BBQ and OUTDOOR SHOWER! Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting: 1 - We live in a residential area at the heart of the Ayers Cliff Village, so the main street is located about 40 feet from the barn. You never really hear the traffic but if a big heavy truck passes on the street, it can make a slight vibration to the building. 2 - Our BUILDING IS OVER 100 YEARS OLD. Although we have put a lot of time, love and effort to maintain it, it is indeed a real old barn where we lived for more than 20 years and there is still a little hay that falls from the ceiling intermittently on the first floor if you jump hard on the second floor for example. 3 - NO PARTYS will be tolerated in our house since we live in a peaceful and residential area.
    - 2 min from the grocery store, bike path, farmer's market. - Possibility to rent Kayak boat at Lake Massawippi ... - 15 minutes from the USA and 15 minutes from Magog. - Netflix TV access on both floors - 2 TVs and only one with cable - Lake Massawippi: Considered one of the ten most beautiful lakes in Quebec and easily accessible from urban centers, Lake Massawippi, meaning Abenaki "the great deep lake", covers an area of 18.7 square kilometers and a perimeter of 38 km. The lake has a length of 14.2 km and a maximum width of 1.9 km, reaching depths of up to 86 m. It is a paradise for sport fishing. Salmonids, bass, perch and pike abound. Every year many fishing tournaments welcome hundreds of sport fishermen from all over America. In the fall, in October and November, the lake is a must for thousands of migratory birds: bustards, snow geese, great blue herons and ducks can be observed there. The surrounding woodlands are full of white-tailed deer, moose, wild turkeys and beaver. With a little luck we can even see giant tortoises. It is no coincidence that the lake has been for many centuries the privileged hunting and fishing territory of many native tribes. (see map of the Massawippi Valley) Tomifobia Nature Trail This trail, built on the right-of-way of the old railway, runs along the river of the same name and covers 22 kilometers from Ayer's Cliff to the US border. The fauna and flora found there are a real delight for the eyes. Deer, turtles, beavers, birds of all kinds abound. Cyclists, hikers, lovers of cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, make an appointment in any season.

  • This place is a gem! My adult son and I were looking to hang out in the country for a few days near Montreal. This Ayer's Cliff property was such a cozy choice! Great butcher/bakery in the little town and a dream farm-style kitchen to cook in! Nature trails nearby were perfect to enjoy the snowy weather and then relax by the fire and watch old movies. We will treasure the memories!

    Leanne2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Super cute place and was great for an overnight layover on our road trip! Thought the bedrooms were all in one building, the double bed was in another small barn outside however it was still comfortable and cozy.

    Rachel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, warm and exotic place! Great location! Nathalie is a superb hostess! I recommend it without hesitation!

    Stefanie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for a lovely stay in your home. It was exactly what we were looking for and would love to stay again and recommend it to others. Great separation of living spaces. It was perfect for 2 people. If staying in a larger group, note that there is only 1 bed + foldouts in the barn (main building) itself, and the other bed that is shown in the pictures is separated in an outhouse. Lovely place, Nathalie has done a great job at the interior design and there are plenty of thoughtful touches around every corner. If you're looking for a nice 2-3 day getaway to relax and unwind then this is A+++

Nestled in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont on a maple lined country road at the base of Burke Mountain and 2.5 miles from the town of East Burke you will relax and refresh in the calm and comfort of a private wing of a beautiful circa 1835 brick farm house. Enjoy the views of Burke Mountain, our picturesque farm pond, and walks through our maple sugar woods. We are minutes from Burke Mountain, around the corner from the Kingdom Trails, VAST trails and hiking trails.
The House was first house built in the Town of Burke in 1795. Originally a 300 acre farm, it was owed by the Walter Family and its descendants until 1992. The bricks form the main part of the house and were transported to Burke via ox cart in the early 1800's. You will be transported back in time staying in an authentic New England farm house. You will enter through your own private entrance. The Main floor is comprised of a large, spacious and comfortable living room with small dining table. There is a small fridge, cooktop, microwave, toaster and keurig for your dining convenience inside; and a barbecue outside for your use. The downstairs bath is the first bathroom built in the town of Burke and has a beautiful, authentic claw foot porcelain bath tub. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with stall shower. All the stenciling is original and the pine flooring was logged off of this land. You will have access to a shed to store your bikes and a hose to wash it off. Go for a relaxing swim in a nearby pond or river. Come and relax in a piece of history, step back in time and rejuvenate.
Nestled in the farmland of the Northeast Kingdom and looking out upon Burke Mountain. The rolling hills and maple sugar woods of Burke make this setting unique and memorable. The farm has been both a Morgan horse farm and Jersey cow farm for the past 221 years. Most of the people who live in the area were born and raised here and have stayed to raise their families in this special and unique part of the world. You will be treated to rolling hills, scenic vistas, open panoramas, and charming sugar woods and a myriad of animals both domestic and wild.
  • Very private, friendly atmosphere. Really enjoyed the goodies. Would recommend visiting the area.

  • I've stayed at Heather's place several times since 2017 - it's the first place I try to book when I go to the Kingdom Trails. Quiet, relaxing, and comfortable are just a few of the many reasons to stay here. This place (and Heather's hospitality) never disappoints.

  • We were there to snowmobile, easy access to trial head. You do have to ride the road to a field, less then a eighth of a mile. We had snow on the side of the road to ride. Heather and her place - perfect. We would stay there again.

  • Heather’s beautiful old farmhouse is a magical place to stay in the Northeast Kingdom with a stunning view of Burke Mountain in the front yard. The village and the mountain are just a few miles away.

  • Our family truly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful and comfortable. The kids enjoyed seeing the barn animals and sledding in the yard. Would be a great visit any season!
