Our loft apartment is in the heart of Old Town Winchester on the Old Town Mall. Located off of a little alley, with security lighting and motion detectors you will be staying steps away from dining, shops and everything our community has to offer. Yet, our apartments are quiet and secure. Our building is OLD & has all of the charm that goes along with it. If you are looking for a sparkly new place, you may want to stay elsewhere, If you want clean, funky and awesome, we are your place!
Our Airbnb is in the heart of Old Town Winchester, on the first outdoor walking mall in the state of Virginia. The building was originally built in the 1700's during the American Revolutionary War. We are within walking distance of 4 breweries, 30 restaurants and over 60 retail shops. There are also numerous museums & art studios.
Vibrant neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, shopping, museums & library. It's a very walk-able neighborhood.
  • It was clean and comfy. Quiet and really nice location near Old Winchester. Great town with a beautiful old town.

  • Charlie's cozy airbnb is a gem! The location could not have been better. It's right in downtown proper. We saw a show at The Bright Box and were just a short block away. She has a great selection of books and movies and the bed was comfy! I can't wait to stay here again!

    Elaine2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in two of Charlie’s Airbnb’s. Both have been amazing. They have everything you need and you can walk anywhere you need to go for dinner or drinks.

  • Great location and a very cute apartment. Charlie was super friendly and helpful!

  • We definitely plan to book Charlie's place again when visiting Winchester. Great location, great space, and great hospitality.

    Megan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • You will not find a better or closer location for the Old Town area of Winchester. You are literally in a building on the walking mall. It was so nice to wake up and go right next door to a coffee shop for the best latte I have ever had. (They have macadamia milk as an option and it was fantastic!) There are some really great shops and restaurants. The buildings are awe-inspiring. The historical attractions alone are worth a trip to this city. Just a tip, parking on the street is free after 6pm and for the whole weekend so don't waste money on a parking garage if you are going on the weekend.

    Dawnelle2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Charlie’s place is adorable and is located in a great spot to check out old town. My husband and I loved our stay!

Rustic, 100 year old 1 rm primitive cabin in West Virginia along the Cacapon River. Beautifully restored with wood stove, loft, & screened in porch. Access to 214 acres of private mountain land & over 1/4 mile of river frontage plus 1/2 acre pond, trails, and private shooting range. This cabin is completely off grid. It has NO electricity or plumbing/running water, but does have a Porta-John serviced weekly. Renter will be cabin camping so pack accordingly; tents also welcome.
The rental is a historic cabin with the exterior recently renovated to maintain its rustic look. It is suitable for outdoorsman, couples wanting a more rugged romantic getaway in private, or for family camping. Note that some building materials (stacks of lumber and barn boards) are still on premises from the renovations. The cabin has a large screened in porch and an open floor plan on the main floor with a small loft overlooking it. Four people can comfortably camp in the cabin. Guests can throw down a sleep pad and sleeping bag on the floor or in the loft or bring a cot. There are two cots and a small hammock strung between beams inside for your use. There is also a Porta-John serviced weekly outside the cabin. The cabin is completely off grid and does not have running water/plumbing/electricity. It is primitive camping in style, but that means you will see creepy crawly things like spiders and possibly even a mouse. You need to pack like your are camping. Also, it is mandatory you bag out all waste (HUMAN or otherwise). I recommend bringing a camp toilet if you do not want to use the Porta-John. Due to the water table essentially at ground level, we take proper disposal of human waste very seriously because it will rapidly pollute the ground water. On very humid days you may be able to here a distant crackling sound caused by the high tension powerlines that cross the property. Don't worry, that is normal. The wood stover is now operational for the season. Please familiarize yourself in advance of proper use of a wood stove and specifically the damper (YouTube). If you intend to use the wood stove, please bring your own firewood (wood may or may not be there), make sure the fire is completely out before leaving the cabin, and do not split wood inside or on the porch. The gas range is not currently operational. Please do not try to use it. If you would like to make a fire outside, there is a camp fire ring in front of the porch with some benches and logs to sit on and a pile for wood in front of it. Do not cut or damage live trees for wood. Feel free to bring a grill, generator, battery operated fan (it's hot and humid in the summer), or other convenience. If you want to just tent camp, that is perfectly fine too and I recommend using the upper campsite for that since it offers an excellent view and privacy.
You are in the mountains of West Virginia. People are friendly and respectful and enjoy their privacy and expect the same courtesy. Although very private, you will occasionally see a neighbor passing the cabin en route to their property at the far end of the access road. If you head to the back 164 acres, you will pass through a small portion of private property owned by a neighbor. You have permission to use the access road, but be respectful of their property and camp site/cabin.
  • Jonathan is a really nice guy

    Sean2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I love this rustic cabin. It’s fun to be off grid for a couple days. This is such a peaceful place. Weather hiking or just being on the river, it’s just a great escape. Thanks ! Will return soon.

    Michael2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! It was COLD but our second night we almost got sweat out of the cabin by the stove! If you're arriving late like we did (11pm almost) I would take care to really pay attention to the written directions that Jonathan provides. It gets much harder to see signs and to see the river crossing when it's the middle of the night, but the directions were true and led us directly to the cabin without any second thought. We brought our own firewood but the extra wood split by the cabin was a thoughtful addition and we appreciated it being there if we had needed it. We were also appreciative of previous guests who had left spare supplies behind. You shouldn't have a shortage of necessities thanks to the community leaving their extras. All in all, it was a beautiful bit of land and we cannot wait to visit again when it gets warmer. The first night was rough with the cabin not being warm inside beforehand, and waiting on the stove to do its job, but our next day and following evening were great and a very memorable experience.

  • What a gorgeous location! We wished we could have stayed longer!

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to disconnect and enjoy friends and family. Lots of nature, plants, trees, owls and coyotes calling in the distance. Had visits from possums to see what we were up to. We'll be back.

    Joseph2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Love this place. Been staying here for 3 years and will continue to come back for as long as allowed. Everything you could ask for.

  • This a beautiful rural home. You enter through the basement doors so you can come and go as you please without bothering anyone. My room had a private shower and bath, a microwave and refrigerator and she even provided paper plates and plastic silverware. Great value, great host, perfect place to stay if you’re in the area.

    David2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dianna and Donnie are awesome and gracious host! Their home is just amazing! Dianna is super responsive and her home is spotless! The night we arrived we wanted to sit out on the porch and enjoy the cool night air by a fire. They immediately and graciously provided a quiet corner on their porch, the wood and their chiminea for the fire. This was not something that was included but they were gracious enough to make it happen for us. Everything was more than I expected. I would go back in a heartbeat! We went back and forth to Harpers Ferry West Virginia (which is amazing) and the drive was not bad at all. I have to admit that the narrow, winding and hilly roads are not what I am used to. But it was a cool and adventurous change from the flat terrain of Southern New Jersey.

  • Clean , nice place.

    Shecaniah2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and it was great. Everything in the description was accurate. Very nice and clean space, plenty of room, not cramped. The private entrance made coming and going a breeze. The only negative thing I could say about my stay is the internet isn’t the best, but that is listed in the description so I knew it going into my stay. It is in a beautiful location and I saw wildlife on my way to and from work every day. I highly recommend staying with Dianna

    Shane2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The overall experience was spectacular. The grounds are like having your own private park. The hosts were amazing and should be airbnb ambassadors. If your going to the Winchester area this is the place to stay!!!!!

    Robert2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend this Airbnb. You would not be disappointed with the hosts, as they go above and beyond for their guests. I’m so glad we booked it! Thank you :)

  • Very clean and great place to stay! Beautiful countryside.

    William 'Billy'2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Dianna's place was exceptionally clean and comfortable. She was an extremely kind and welcoming host, willing to answer any questions I had and drive me around so I could gain familiarity with area. The location is a bit 'off the beaten path' but still close to restaurants and grocery stores (about a 10 min drive). Wifi can be a bit touch and go but Dianna was so thoughtful and installed cable for my entertainment. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the Winchester area!

    Brian2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ans was amazing! One thing I would recommend is to have some warm socks due to the tile flooring in the rooms. Other then that they are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend!

  • I was grateful to find a pet friendly accommodation.

    Nikki2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • ANS is wonderful! It was easily found through AirBNB. Each room has its own unique taste, and although the bathroom could use a little make over it was very clean! The place is easy to find, close to the major highways but back far away enough from the road that you don't hear any traffic. They have fridges, coffee, stove top, TV, cabinet space so basically if you need a place to stay for a while you could do weekly rentals. I was passing through late in Winchester and this place was a steal for sure!

    Laine2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ans is definitely a go-to if you want a good experience close to Shenandoah! It's a great place to stay! Clean, great amenities, and comfortable! Super safe as well! Definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying there!

  • Cozy, comfy, and clean! Mary was very communicative and everything was great!

    Meagan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Mary offers a cosy room in rural West Virginia. We visited in Feb and it was cold, barely got above freezing, but inside is a large fire that heats the room in no time. The bed is big and comfy too and Mary provides Wi-Fi which was good enough for us to stream some episodes at night. The location is perfect, you step out in the morning to a true peace and quiet, no noise at all. At night you can see all the stars you want. We had questions about places to see and eat whilst in WV and Mary replied almost instantly with suggestions and provided leaflets on arrival, including some that gave discounts. The local places to eat are really nice too. If all this isn't enough, you might catch little Buddy walking around the yard, everyone loves a dog!

    Chris2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Mary's location was great. She went out of her way to help us out when we may have had a problem - and she really wound up exceeding our expectations. Me, my wife and our 3 dogs were very comfortable during our stay there! We will definitely stay again when we're in the area! Thanks Mary!!

  • Convenient and pet friendly

    Joey2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Another perfect stay. This is at least my 5th or 6th visit with Mary, and I will keep coming back. A night in her cozy basement apartment is always exactly what I need to break up a very long drive, and she is always warm and welcoming while giving me plenty of quiet and privacy. Mary is truly a Superhost.

Nice older single family home all to yourselves. If you don’t like old houses this is not the place for you, it was built in 1955. It is close to 81 and roughly a mile from Old Town Winchester. It is located across the street from Shenandoah University. Starbucks and restaurants are a short walk. This house is perfect for families or a group of friends. Great for a weekend getaway or visiting professionals. Stop for a quick overnight while traveling. Cable TV and Wifi included.
This house is perfect for a visit to historic Winchester. The location is easy to get to from 81. Located near the downtown walking mall (1 mile) in Winchester that has restaurants, historical sites, museums, concert venues, local breweries, and shops. There is a great Children's Museum close by. Shenandoah University is down the street, this would be perfect for visiting faculty, parents, families, potential students or professors, or someone attending the SU theater series. The neighborhood is friendly, safe and convenient. It is a short walk to Starbucks. Washington DC is a 70 mile drive, Shenandoah National Park is about a half hour drive. We are in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley with many Virginia Wineries located nearby. This house would work for an individual or a family or even a couple of families (that get along well;). This would work for a professional as it has great WiFi. There is a big front porch that makes it easy to watch the world go by and relax. It would make a good home base for a wedding party or a weekend getaway. We live close and are available if you need us. Whatever your reason for visiting we look forward to making your stay wonderful!
Residential neighborhood but close to all conveniences. Easy walk to the tourist visitors center.

  • Our weekend at the dome was amazing. Remy and Jeremy are wonderful, responsive hosts. The dome was very cozy and comfortable despite the rain and low temps. We took advantage of the fire pit, the grill (with delicious steaks from the farm), and Remy's decadent popovers for breakfast. Can't wait to go back!

  • We had a great time at the dome despite the cold (mid 30s) and wet weather. The dome is entirely waterproof and the heater and blankets keep it warm enough. Perhaps the most thoughtful touch was the carbon monoxide detector (I had brought my own just in case)! Good to have when using gas in an enclosed space. Highly recommend first arriving during daylight hours if possible. The entire area is quite dark at night, and if it’s been cloudy the solar lights won’t be on! Watch out for the fence :) The dome is near a small gravel road but quite far from the busy highway. An occasional car would drive by but it didn’t bother us. Overall it is a great place to stay when you’d like a short quiet getaway. The dome is quite large and has plenty of thoughtful amenities. The flashlights and lanterns were especially helpful. The fire pit and grill area look nice, and we hope to return when it isn’t raining to use them! Remy was available if needed and responds to messages quickly. Go check out the dome!

  • Relaxing weekend getaway despite unseasonable cold temperatures! We enjoyed the comfortable and warm bed, picking up BBQ from New Star Market for a picnic outside the dome, a fun library book sale downtown, browsing the Strasburg Emporium, and a trip to Star in the Valley Estate Winery with our dog. The Christmas decorations in the dome were a fun surprise! Host was very responsive to all communication. We can't wait to be back when it is a little warmer!

    Reagan2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Dome is an incredible space to get away. There are so many little touches to make you feel at home and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something a little different

    Sean2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Dome was the perfect getaway from the city. It was a chilly night, but with the propane heater and extra blankets we were cozy and warm all night. We really appreciated all of the thoughtful touches and quick responses. We definitely recommend visiting Star in the Valley Estate Winery less than 10 minutes away. It was the perfect addition to the star gazing theme.

  • This is fantastic place to stay! The view is spectacular! The location is convenient and you will have a lot of privacy. Philip was incredibly responsive and made me feel very welcome during my stay. I will definitely be staying here again!

  • I had a wonderful time! Everything exceeded my expectations of the place. The cabin was perfect inside and out. It is situated in a peaceful setting with gorgeous views of the mountains. You can breath clean air anywhere you turn. I loved to take walks around the area! Philip, the property Manager, was very welcoming, and always responded quickly to my inquires. I felt welcomed from the beginning to the end. I will definitely be back. If you are looking to have a relaxing week in a little piece of heaven, this is the place to book! (This is a Hidden Jewel).

    Ana2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Phillip was very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. We booked the cabin for a work retreat, and it was exactly what we hoped for.

  • Su's place is beautiful and very peaceful . Philip is wonderful host and is always available to help. Su has a great collection of books. I would recommend this place to anybody who is looking for serene place to relax or meditate. Thanks Su and Philip to let me stay at you place. I will hopefully be back next year!

    Surinder2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely amazing and beautiful place to stay. One of the most peaceful areas and a beautiful view to go along with it. Philip was wonderful in making sure we had everything we needed.

    Lauren2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • I was taking a class in the vicinity, and wanted a place for quiet self reflection. The cabin is a bit on the small side and somewhat remote, but very cosy and private. Waking up each day to watch the sun rise over the mountains was icing on the top.

    Nathaniel2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time here and we loved this beautiful mountain stay just as much as the first time! If you want privacy, this is the place to stay. If you want fresh mountain air, beautiful sunsets, sunrises, and peace and quiet, you have found the right place in this beautiful mountain and cabin. My only suggestion is to go slow on the gravel roads (15mph)...I was lovingly chastised for kicking up too much dust, by an elderly gentleman, and he got no argument from me, as he was 100% right. I was low on gas (should have gotten it when we were in town the night before) so was in a hurry to get to a gas station. I am glad he stopped me as I only hope to be surrounded by love on this mountain. The wildlife was wonderful to see...bucks, does, and fawn were a daily occurence. Cannot say enough about this wonderful place, and the host, Phillip, is such a kind soul, and such a joy to talk to. He is very prompt in his replies and even stops in once a week to see how you are enjoying your stay. This wonderful cabin is 5 star for it's beautiful scenery, serenity, and peace.

    Kathy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little cabin tucked away in the beautiful "Wild and Wonderful" mountains of West Virginia. It was the perfect spot for a 2nd honeymoon, secluded and romantic! The view is absolutely breathtaking. Location Location Location.... complete and total "Zen." We overpacked, as there are so many amenities we didn't need a fraction of the items that we brought with us. The cabin is Pristine and includes everything imaginable; it is extremely well appointed and stocked to: live, cook, relax, sleep, and bathe. Our host Philip made our experience truly memorable. He greeted us with a big smile and a bigger basket packed with an assortment of fruits, cheese and crackers, he is such a sweet and caring host! Check-in was seamless. Philip took the time to show us what we needed to know on how to operate everything. If you enjoy wildlife this is the place for you. It is located on a dead end road on top of a mountain. Deer are everywhere!! We were sitting on our covered front porch watching families (a herd) grazing, Bucks, Does and an abundant amount of fawns. We saw Fox Eagles Hawks.... so amazing. The pictures do not do this cabin justice. We could easily see several mountain ranges away and a blazing sunset every evening. One afternoon we saw a storm approaching approximately 50 miles away, what a sight to behold mother nature arriving, the view kept changing as the moments were ticking by. A tourist hint: a must see in the area is located in Romney West Virginia The Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad Train tour. Tip: Spring for the 1st class ticket you will get an incredible meal prepared by a chef comfortable seating and air conditioning as well as access to the entire train. We would like to thank our host Philip for this serene memorable week. We can't wait to come back for another week, actually we would like to experience all 4 seasons on top of that West Virginia mountain.

  • Great spot in the heart of Old Town Winchester— I used it as a jumping off point for hiking in Shenandoah and the GW Forest (about 30 minutes to the entrances to each). It’s right around the corner from the old Town Market with tons of cool restaurants and shops— highly recommended. Winchester is a great Town too!

Our rustic river cabin is just feet from the beautiful Cacapon river. We have a huge wrap around screen porch. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom was completely remodeled in April of 2019. Pets are welcome to join you. We have fishing poles and 3 kayaks (available to rent), as well as a bbq grill. There are Adirondack chairs by the river bank for your enjoyment and a fire pit. This cabin is not secluded. The river parallels the road and you will hear vehicle noise.
Our cabin, built in 1935, started life as a hunting cabin. It has been updated since then, including a bathroom remodel in April of 2019, but still maintains its rustic charm. The fireplace is large and provides a romantic ambience. The wrap around porch, with a porch swing and several rockers, is the perfect place to sit and watch the river.
The Cacapon River parallels Route 259 (a 2 lane road), so you will hear traffic noise. Our cabin doesn't sit right on the road, but this is not a secluded cabin in the woods. It is really conveniently located for a trip in to Wardensville or access to hiking areas.
  • So peaceful - from the river to the porch to the quiet near the fireplace. Great place to just be.

    Michael & Nora2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in Jeana’s cabin many times and our latest visit did not disappoint. The cabin has a fantastic fireplace that makes it a really great atmosphere and it is stylishly decorated with second hands and antiques. Jeana let us know about bar-ish which is every Saturday night at The Trading Post in Wardensville and we stopped in for a few drinks and games. We really appreciated that she let us know about it ahead of time so we could plan to go. Overall it was a great time as always. If you’re on the fence about whether to book this cabin...just do it...you won’t regret it!

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place! The cabin was a beautiful West Virginia original with modern amenities. Fireplace, fire pit and the huge screened-in porch overlooking a beautiful stretch of river were amazing. We’re already planning our next trip back.

    Kaylee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • remote feel, but plenty close by; great little town of Wardensville; loved the fire pit by the river; felt like Laura Ingles Wilder sitting by the fireplace at night!

  • My wife and I always have a great time at this cabin. Very relaxing and cozy. :D

    Todd2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jeana’s cabin is the perfect escape for a nice, quiet weekend away. Jeana was extremely responsive and accommodating. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, and is situated nicely on the river. The fireplace is amazing, and we pretty much camped out in front of it and read and watched movies all weekend. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need if you want to stay in and cook for yourselves as options are relatively limited in the immediate area.

    Kyle2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a great cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway! It only took 1 1/2 hours from Nova. If you are looking to reconnect with nature, hike, walk up and down the river bed, fish, have bon-fires, cook on the bbq, get the dog out, this is your place. It’s rustic, but perfect in every way. Major bonuses were: wrap-around screened in porch overlooking the river, in-door wood fireplace with as much wood as you can fathom, outdoor fire pit with chairs overlooking the river, charcoal grill with everything you need...comfy bed...Jeana really put a lot of time into making this an easy and curated experience.

    Becky2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was amazing, beautifully positioned over the Cacapon river and very homey inside. The kitchen was extremely well-stocked and blankets and firewood were abundant. We enjoyed the grill and fire pit. Perfect for a cabin getaway, no complaints and highly recommended!

This is a nice neighborhood home with quick access to the city greenway walking trail and a mile from the Old Town walking mall. Also close to a local park, Patsy Cline's childhood residence, and Shenandoah University. Winchester, VA is at the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley, a small but growing city with interesting local shops and restaurants and an area with great outdoor activities and much history to explore.
The house is a modest family home on a quiet cul de sac. Inside you'll find comfortable spaces with open living areas. The sun-filled living room adjoins the kitchen which is open to a cozy hearth dining room. There is plenty of space to spread out and relax while at the house. Down the hall are two bedrooms, each with queen beds and a third bedroom / dressing room (curtain divider instead of a door) with a full bed. There is a fenced back yard and pets are welcome, please clean up after them and try to avoid getting dander on throw pillows / furniture that may be an issue for future guests with allergies. Vacuum in the house if needed. Gas grill is also available for use, you are welcome to use whatever gas is left and exchange the tank if needed. If you'd like us to make sure you have a full tank to start with we can do so for a fee.
Lots of local history and the Old Town walking mall is a favorite spot with many good restaurants and goings on. There is plenty to keep you interested nearby but also a good jumping off point to explore the nearby Shenandoah Valley area for hiking and various outdoor activity. Also well within a reasonable drive time to take a day trip to Washington DC.

  • Matt and Kait's place is very lovely and cozy. The house is in an established and, we feel, safe neighborhood. It's steps away from the Green Circle Trail; we took our fur-babies on a leisurely walk to the pedestrian mall downtown located less than two miles away. Matt and Kait live up to their super-host designation; the little touches, such as making a miniature clothe's pin available to clip your half empty packet of cocoa, if necessary, and labeling items around the house, really make a difference. Thank you, Matt and Kait!

    Marie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay here. We love that it is so clean and cozy with lots of sitting areas and great extra touches like snacks, juice, and milk left for us to have during the stay. It is in a very safe and convenient area. We also like that they have a washer and dryer, which is wonderful when traveling with kids. They even have art books, markers, and paints, which our boys love when we have stayed. Matt and Kait are great hosts and are very kind. Thank you for letting us stay in your home when we come back to visit our hometown. We hope to stay again in the future.:)

  • You will not be disappointed in this cute place. The host provides a wonderful, relaxing environment.

  • We would definitely stay at Matt's place again! It was really comfortable, clean, and convenient for our family of four (including a 7 and a 1 year-old) plus my sister. Matt was really responsive through AirBnB messaging and went out of his way to accommodate our family's needs. The bedrooms all had little fans that are nice for white noise (one has a curtain rather than door) and we all slept great. The living space made it really nice to hang out and enjoy our time and includes two couches, a recliner, an extra long picnic-style dining table with benches, everything we needed in the kitchen, Google Home, and voice activated lighting. The bathroom with shower-bath were nice and clean. Check-in and out were easy. The location is on a quiet dead end that's easy walking distance from the rail trail/greenway and close to downtown. Five stars.

2 adults, 1 queen bed, private bathroom, refrigerator freezer, microwave, and keurig.
The Glendobbin Room has its own private access and is part of larger home located in a neighborhood of houses with 5 private acres.
  • My husband and I are artists and travel to art shows and events using AirBnB exclusively nowadays for our stays. We enjoy meeting our hosts as normally we are gone long hours all day and usually only see them at the initial meeting. Our stay at Glendobbin was great! It's in a beautiful location-it convenient to the event we were participating in and easy to locate. We had the option of driving via the Internet or some beautiful back roads going and coming. It is located in apple orchard country and the large home is situated on a hill with a sweeping tree covered lawn. It's in one of those locations that feels like it is in the middle of nowhere and yet is just a short distance from the city of Winchester. Perfect ambiance! We had just enough time each morning at sunrise to view the sunrise, drink our coffee and watch the deer feeding in the far edges of the lawn! Communication with Jeff was excellent. Our room included a comfortable bed, small refrigerator with freezer, Keurig coffee maker, wi-fi, TV, private entrance with attached bathroom. beautifully decorated and if we had chosen to use it, an outside patio fire pit. It was a restful place to return to after a long hot day at outdoor shows! We would recommend this spot to anyone!

This is an adorable one bedroom apt. above downtown shop in Winchester Va. Just steps from the Walking Mall, Handley Library and a block away from Steamy’s an awesome coffee shop. Shenandoah University-5 minute drive Winchester Med Center-10 minute drive . Washington DC. -1.5 hr drive Skyline Drive -30 min drive Free Parking too ! You’ll love it !
Pretty Apt by the Train will make you feel right at home. Beautifully decorated and lots of light - and you can enjoy your morning coffee on the apartments dandy porch swing. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed and large closet. There is a turntable and some vinyl there for your enjoyment. Guests have been delighted with their stays and have said that the apt. is more spacious than it looks in pics .
I love the small town feel...the train whistle...the little shops owned by real people who are following their passions. Piccadilly Public House is across the street with great food ...outdoor seating and in the warm weather seasons they have live music on thurs, fri, & sat nights.
  • A quirky and unusual place. Loved the swinging chair outside the front door, great place to unwind with a glass of something at night, or the first cup of tea/ coffee in the morning. 5 minutes walk to Winchester which has a certain charm. A stones throw from the train track, but hearing the freight train at night or early in the morning added to the charm. Overall a quirky, charming and positively lovely base to explore Virginia/ West Virginia and Maryland’s natural spaces and historical sites. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

  • This is a wonderful apartment one block from the downtown walking mall with tons of restaurants and bars to choose from. The location doesn’t get any better! And off street parking at the base of the stairs. The space itself is clean and cozy, I’d absolutely stay there again. Towels, shampoo, body wash, coffee, etc were all provided, which was a nice bonus. Michele communicated with me quickly and even came and shoveled the snow off the steps for me. Very friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • This is an excellent apartment, located centrally in Winchester. It has very comfortable furniture and was stylishly decorated. Definitely felt like home. It can be a bit noisy at night due to the location, but ear plugs are provided. And it's proximity to town is worth it! Michele was an excellent host too, ensuring the cable was working in advance of our stay. Highly recommend this place!

Our four room cottage is the perfect spot for a summer dip in the creek swimming hole, enjoying the fall foliage, a winter getaway in front of the fire, or just hanging out on the screened porch listening to the rain or the birds.
Just 1.5 hours from Silver Spring, and under 2 hours from DC or Baltimore is our cozy four room cottage with a covered, screened porch and an open deck. Indoors is a livingroom/kitchen space, a bathroom and two bedrooms. (One with double bed and one with twin bunk beds) The living room sofa also converts to a full bed. Additional kids could be accommodated by camping on the carpeted bedroom floor. Envisioned as a retreat, there is no landline, spotty cell phone service, no TV and no internet, but there is a wood burning fireplace indoors and a fire pit outside. Not totally immune to creature comforts, we are fully electrified. We have hot water, electric baseboard heat, two window unit air conditioners and a full kitchen with fridge, stove and oven. (No microwave, though) The house is very bright, with windows all around. The living room has two sliding glass doors - one to the deck and one to the covered porch. A basement room is becoming a game room. So far we have bumper pool and magnetic darts.
We're located at the end of a dirt road and on the edge of the community property in a development originally planned as summer homes (but now largely year round residents). From the cottage you can barely see any evidence of other homes - just lush woods. There's a feeder stream that crosses our property (fun for finding crawdads) then joins with Back Creek. We have a community access point to Back Creek - a five to ten minute walk along trails or a dirt road. From there you can swim in the deep swimming hole, put in a kayak (bring your own kayak), fish, or just watch the water go by. A few minutes walk away in the "development" is a rudimentary basketball court. It's clearly seen better days but still works for shooting a few hoops. The surrounding area is chock full of apple and peach orchards. As you drive in you'll see lots of picturesque farms with horses, cows or goats. A few minutes by car down the road is Orr's farm where you can buy locally grown fruits and veggies. They also do "pick your own" for strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, vegetables, grapes, pumpkins and even flowers! You may also get to see the bison that they raise in a pasture next to the market!
  • A cute hideaway in the mountains! Everything you need for a breath of fresh air

  • Great spot to unplug and unwind. The house is cozy and the surroundings are very peaceful.

    Erik2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a place you can relax and enjoy your surroundings. We went in the winter loved how peaceful it was. Hope to come back in the summer so we can swim.

    Sean2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little getaway! We loved hiking the trail behind the cabin in the woods and relaxing in the cabin. There was every kind of space to sit outside--screened porch, porch, covered bench, and a campfire nook.

    Nicole2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy's place was the perfect weekend getaway! The location very very convenient and easy to get to. The house was situation in a great location that provided seclusion without being too far away from facilities. The surrounding grounds are lovely with a path to the creek / swimming hole and enclosed in trees. The sound of the creek was a perfect soundtrack to the hours spent by the outdoor fire pit. Our family enjoyed the time away from the screens and allowed our brains and hearts to rest. Thank you Sandy for allowing us to stay in your place, we are already planning our return trip!

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here with our two dogs! It was great to be fully unplugged and offline, the woods were beautiful, and we loved cozying on the couch by the fireplace. Thank you, Sandra!

  • (note: we actually stayed at the North River Cottage, rather than cabin #4, in the same area) The cabin was great! The space was very comfortable, and in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed, and we actually never needed anything from the communal space.

    Jeni2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and quiet, beautiful landscapes, fun

    Mandy2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described. Great value. We really enjoy camping, but this year we had our baby and mother with us so we needed more modern necessities like electricity, a cabin, and kitchen area. We had all of that and more. The lake made for clean swimming. We used the sauna. The kitchen had more than enough equipment. Next time we will stay longer.

    Matthew2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I don’t know where to start from but Vincent is one of the most amazing people ever he was very welcoming and very nice guy he made sure we are comfortable there and I am for sure coming back .

    Mansour2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin 4 is essentially two normal twin size beds and two twin bunk beds, giving you six beds total, and a bathroom. There's also a kitchen table and mini fridge. We stayed with four guys for a bachelor party, and that was really all we needed. There is a very large community kitchen building with a dining room area with couch and table and another fridge as well as a large space to prepare food and cook dishes. Between four cabins, there is a fire pit and charcoal grill. Everyone cooked food in the kitchen or over a fire. Down the hill was a small pond that was very clean and pleasant, and further down was a somewhat larger pond with canoes and a dock in the middle. We fished catch and release, the highlight for the groom was likely catching a catfish. It can be a bit hard to gauge from photos and the abundant description what it will be like, but it's beautiful and peaceful. The camp is about 20 minutes from the nearest restaurants and shopping, which is also about where the nearest cell signal is. Let people you care about know you are almost there when you get to that bit of civilization, as there isn't any beyond it. That is likely what you came for.

    Charles2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! The camp site is well kept. We found our cabin to be clean and highly functional. We enjoyed making use of the canoe, sauna, and cornhole. We roasted s’mores and cooked on the grill. Everyone was very friendly. We are city girls and so this was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of DC. The campsite is quite peaceful. Just got back and have already recommended to other friends!

Come enjoy Downtown Winchester in this fabulously furnished 1 BR apt. ready for your getaway and local enjoyment. Flat screen TV/ DVD. FREE PARKING/WIFI Just steps from Piccadilly Public House, the Walking Mall, our beautiful and historic library. Shenandoah University -5 minute drive /Winchester Medical Center-10 minutes . Just a 1.5 hr jaunt to Washington DC. and Approx. 30 min. to Skyline Drive.
This little place is just plain charming. Lots of light and personality. Wonderful alternative to the typical hotel experience. Or for short term rental needs.
It is a downtown area. The train goes by several times a day and sounds its horn... but after a few times you don't really even notice it. There is a great little pub across the street that has bands that play on the weekends in their outdoor courtyard (weather permitting). Its just steps from the newly renovated George Washington Hotel where btw, they have great wedding facilities. The downtown walking mall, is also just two blocks down with fountains and fabulous shops and bookstore, coffee shops etc...
  • My second time staying here, and it was just as perfect as the first time, a few weeks ago. Charming, great location, off street parking, and spotless. 10/10 stars!

  • This was the perfect space for a solo or pair of travelers. Immaculate, well decorated, spacious, with gorgeous natural light. Walking distance to Old Town, and off street private parking. The kitchen is really well stocked with utensils, and the original antique sink and hardwood floors add just the right amount of character. There was a robe provided, as well as tooth brushes, cotton swabs, and quality toiletries. I felt 100% safe as a solo female traveler, and highly recommend staying here.

  • Michele’s description of her place is very accurate. We did hear the train, not often and kind of fun. We did hear the bar across the street, again not an issue. The keys to our excellent stay were the off street parking, block and half walk to brewery and old town, and Michele’s very quick response to a minor issue. We would definitely stay here again

Our charming, totally renovated one bedroom apartment is clean, comfortable and convenient. The apartment is within walking distance to 30 restaurants, bars and fantastic shopping; located just 2 blocks from the historic Old Town Walking Mall. Nestled in the center of Historic Winchester Virginia, there are endless possibilities!!
The apartment is located in the Historic Seymour House, built in 1776!! This space has the Historic charm, but has been fully renovated: new appliances, new kitchen and new bathroom. The second bed is a pullout sofa in the family room. We even added a pillow top to make it more comfortable!
The Historic charm and accessibility to great restaurants, bars, and shopping is unmatched!! A clean, safe and quite neighborhood!
  • An exceptional place to stay when in Winchester. Walking distance to all kinds of areas of interest, shopping, great food and drink. The area and space are historic and were a pile of fun to stay at. Cindy was friendly and helpful, and the apartment was clean and so much better than we anticipated. I was worried about street parking at first, but that proved no problem at all, it was plentiful and free near the location. We would absolutely stay again when returning to the area.

    Kevin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a long weekend at this apartment to explore Shenandoah National Park. It was about a thirty minute drive to the Front Royal entrance, and was a perfect location for our home base. The apartment itself was comfortable, clean, and well stocked for all of our cooking needs. There was free street parking and we could check on our car from the apartment window. We enjoyed being in such a historic spot with beautiful architecture!

    Hannah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great place for my two month stay! The apartment had everything I needed to cook meals and relax. The location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants as well as a short commute to work at Valley Health. Communication with the hosts was easy and they would give me information if there would be any parking changes or things happening near the apartment. I had no problems finding free parking near the building. Definitely recommend and would stay here again!

  • Wonderful location is a wonderful little town. Very clean

  • We loved staying here! We wanted to stay somewhere that is close to everything! It was a short walk to the walking mall and restaurants. It was nice to go eat, get a few drinks, and then walk back. Also, not too long of a drive to Skyline drive for hiking. Great place and great anniversary weekend for us! Thank you!

A uniquely restored log cabin which predates the civil war but with modern upgrades, nestled in a valley about half way between Winchester VA. and Berkeley Springs WVA. This two bedroom cabin can sleep up to 8 if there were couples or children, but tent camping is available by booking through another ad. We have hosted parties of up to 35, some inside the cabin, but most camping. Separate campsites rent for ($35/night). Special events and parties are also available through a separate ad.
A rustic pre-civil war hunting cabin with certain creature comforts such as a smart TV, Wi-Fi, HVAC, fireplace, BBQ pit, fire pit, satellite radio, bathroom with washer and dryer, and a fully stocked kitchen. Outside burning is only permitted in those two areas and only when risk of forest fire is low. It has 2 bedrooms and a couch, and could sleep up to 9 with 2 guests on an air mattress. Other in-door amenities include a wood burning stove, a small library of the local wildlife, and other classic novels, as well as a DVD player and a DVD library of nearly 300 movies. There is also a cabinet full of board games. Because of the local area, there are lots of fun activities to do year round. Please read other the descriptions of the photos. Please note that the campsite itself is available for rent separately only as an auxiliary in another listing ($35/night) in case a large event were to take place. Both ads would need to be rented in tandem in that case. Please note, renters must be at least 21 years of age to book this property. Also please note, that while this a pet and firearm friendly location, anyone who books at this property who brings firearms or pets are booking at their own risk.
There really isn't any neighborhood, since this cabin is in the middle of nowhere- which, in my opinion is the best part since it is an escape from city life. There is one neighbor who is a close friend, and is available on site in case of emergencies.
  • This was our second trip here and it was just as awesome as the first one. The only down fall the first trip was the bathroom being very tight and small and that is now one the best parts of the cabin. If your looking for an awesome place to get away in a historic and rustic setting I couldn’t imagine a better place. As the first time Anthony was great to deal with last year he was my first Airbnb host and I knew it could be the smooth and easy, and it has been both times!

  • A fun cabin tucked off a main road with ample fun in the backyard!

    Mikhail2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a rustic cabin in the woods then this is the place! Anthony does an amazing job keeping up this cabin and the touches are so cool. A true man cave with modern amenities any city girl will love. Will be back!

  • A quaint cabin perfect for a getaway! It was a little difficult to find in the dark but had lots of outdoor space for dogs to run in.

    Jeff2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin in a great location. Loved the running room for the dogs and the coziness and history of the cabin itself. Can’t wait to come back.

  • Dena and Matt's place is like staying at your home while away from home. Their house is cozy and comfortable, and they themselves are welcoming and warm. I highly recommend booking with them (and their adorable pup Colby!)... you won't regret it.

  • A very cute cabin right on the river. Darrel is about the nicest and most thoughtful host out there. Had a fire started when we arrived, responses to communication readily. A kayaker/nature lover/fisherman's paradise.

    Paul2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place, Darrel is a fantastic host! Can't wait to come back!!

    Craig2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great space with even better hosts. Would recommend to anyone wanting some time off the beaten path.

    Laurie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place! Darrel was very welcoming and friendly when we arrived - he had a fire already going in the fire pit! Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway. Definitely will be coming back in the summer for a different, but I am sure just as great, experience!

    Daniel2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for relaxing and boating. The cabin is charming and has everything you need. And Darrel is a great host. When we arrived he had fires going both outside and in the living room stove, took time to get to know us, and explained how everything worked. we will definitely return in the summer when we can swim.

    Jane2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect. It was off the grid, but also close to a store. It was right on the water, absolutely gorgeous outdoor spaces. The inside was quaint and clean and had everything we needed. The owner was helpful and kind. Beds, Chairs, and spaces were comfortable. We would definitely return to this location and recommend it.

    Sarah2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great getaway for a couple or family with kids, even in the winter! The king bedroom was spacious and comfortable, the wood stove did a great job keeping us warm, and the outdoor spaces gave us a lot of options for enjoying the view of the river (and hearing the sound of the local beaver enjoying a snack). At check-in our host showed us around the property, and gave great tips for local businesses to check out. We had everything we needed to relax, be comfortable, and cook our meals. Who needs cell phone reception when you have board games and nature? A visit here in warmer weather would allow better use of the kayak, river, hammocks, cornhole, badminton court, and outdoor seating. The big movie collection and fire pit are great year-round, and Darrel provided plenty of wood for both outside and the wood stove. Overall a comfortable, quiet, relaxing weekend by the river!

    Hilary2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Darrel is an excellent host. He was responsive, had everything stocked and ready for visitors, and offers a great value. The pictures show you exactly what his place has to offer, so no surprises. Very nice and helpful guy!

  • Great location, cute studio apartment. Futon was a bit stiff, but made sense in the space.

    Rebekah2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The studio apartment was my dream home if I were able to live in a down-town apartment. Location is excellent (walking distance to traditional Winchester down-town) and the interior decor was so cozy and inviting. Such a lovely trip, can't recommend this place enough!!

    Kassie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location in a space that makes you feel at home. Well equipped, maintained and clean. The bathroom has all the amenities, but is a tad on the small side.

  • Really beautiful and clean little space within walking distance to the best parts of Winchester. If you can snag a night at this place, definitely do so. Plenty of space for luggage, smaller but emmaculate bathroom, and just so charming overall. We will be back for sure.
