Places to stay in Hollis
Both rustic and elegant, the Birch Ledge Guest House offers a cozy place to relax and recharge, whatever the season. The first floor features a spacious living room (with queen sized pull-out-couch), dining area, and small kitchen. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. The second floor is a loft accessible by a spiral staircase and has a comfy queen and two twin sized beds. The guesthouse is surrounded by quiet forest and is an easy 30 minute drive to Portland.
Sari and Saul Lindauer, both retired science teachers, live on the property in a separate home, and have been building and improving upon this guest house for the past 19 years. The Lindauers welcome guests to Birch Ledge as a way to share the beauty of their homestead with others.
Wooded area with friendly and quiet neighbors. We have a 300 foot driveway on a loop road which offers privacy from traffic and out of view from our nearest neighbors. We also have access to miles of hiking and skiing trails which do not allow motorized vehicles.
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Sari's place. It was very clean and looks much better in person although the pictures were already pretty great themselves. We had a good time getting away from the city, visiting Sari's chickens, and also got to enjoy some fresh sap and maple syrup. Thanks for the great stay!

  • Our stay at Sari's guest house could not have been more magical! Sari was a superb host. She and Saul went above and beyond the call of duty. They were able to accommodate us a day early when a severe weather warning affected our travel plans and communicating and problem solving that could not have been easier. The second we stepped on the property we felt right at home. The guest house is the perfect combination of secluded, so you can really feel like you're escaping, but good wifi and cell service made it easy to feel connected if we needed to. A really well stocked kitchen, plenty of room for hanging out and for sleeping, and tons of privacy made this an ideal retreat for a Wintery getaway. Between our three nights at the guest house we had over a foot of snow, but Saul and Sari were so on top of it, at no point did we feel trapped or snowed in - they were so speedy with communicating with us and making sure our car could get out. The cherry on top of it all, was being invited to take part in their annual evergreen spiral tradition on NYE. Such a lovely surprise and it made our stay all the more special. We hope to be back soon!

  • This getaway spot is a true gem. It is cozy, clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting. The thoughtful touches from the owner/host are what makes this place truly amazing. From the fresh eggs, milk, bread, and handmade lobster chocolates to many other thoughtful touches this is a very special place to stay. Thank you for making our getaway and my sisters birthday truly a special one. We will be back and may just make this our yearly Christmas tradition!!

  • Amazing place and thoughtful gestures of hospitality.

  • Sari's place was better than expected. If you're a couple looking for a quiet place to get off the grid then look no further. If you need to get back on the grid, then Portland is only 40 minutes away. Place is beautiful and immaculate. Sari is a tremendous host with prompt communication. I will be back!!!! Thanks again Sari, Steve

  • Sari and Sahl were phenomenal hosts! You can see and feel all of the hard work and love that went into the guesthouse. It is cozy, warm and charming. You couldn’t ask for a more comfortable spot to unplug and be present. We will absolutely be booking another weekend here!

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and fresh coffee in the common room outside your room or on the comfy sofa in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to beach, 20 mins to Maine Mall area; 30 mins to Portland). We would be so pleased to have you as our guests.
Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Gray Room is up one flight of stairs. The room has one queen bed and a cot is available for a third adult upon request. The room is equipped with a mini-fridge for guest use. The main kitchen of the home is not available for guests at this time. The room is equipped with business class WiFi and a smoke detector. We offer laundry services upon request only, for a $5/load fee. The washer and dryer are not located in a public area. There is a spare set of sheets and towels in the room. So as not to disturb our guests, there will not be a daily cleaning of the room, unless an additional cleaning fee ($10) is paid. We do ask that guests not bring visitors into the home without prior approval from the hosts. The maximum occupancy for this room is three adults (two adults and an infant or child = three guests; two adults and a pet = three guests). The room is adjacent to a common area, our library, where there is a Keurig coffeemaker available 24/7. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared freshly painted and decorated bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. There is no fan installed in the bathroom yet due to the age of the home, but it is coming soon. Meanwhile, we have a dehumidifier available. There is a hair dryer for guest use. History: The home is great for fans of history. We have been told that the home was once a safe stop on the Freedom Trail because of the way the chimneys were painted! We even have a photo of the original occupants of the home (see listing pictures). The home is more than 4,000 square feet, so while we are happy to help you while in the area, you will have plenty of privacy. The home sits on one acre of land, surrounded on two sides by woods (the occasional deer or wild turkey comes to visit!) and on a third side by our neighbors' garden and chickens. Nearby: Our home is in an outstanding location in Maine. We live 20 minutes from the Maine Mall area in South Portland. We live 30-35 minutes from downtown Portland/the Old Port area. We love living here because we can drive to the ocean (Pine Point Beach) in 20 minutes, and pay just $10 to park for the day. Old Orchard Beach is 30-35 minutes away from our home also. We are only 15 minutes away from the 95. We are also less than 20 minutes away from Scarborough. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s (grocery store) within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s (hardware store), local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We also live just one house up from the river, and there is access to a small white sandy island in the middle of the river off of the bridge. We get all the perks of waterfront property, without paying the high summer rates! The Saco River is fantastic. If you go under the bridge, you will eventually end up in a very large lake that is beautiful. Many people float down the river in inner tubes. Above the bridge, there is less traffic, and it is very scenic. We have seen a blue heron, a bald eagle, and even a beaver building a dam! It’s very peaceful and relaxing. Bring your kayak or your inner tube! We are not able to offer canoe rentals at this time for insurance purposes, unfortunately. However, there is also a great kayak rental location in the marshes of Scarborough where you can spend a day. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub opening soon. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a welcome with refreshments and treats in your room refrigerator. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh locally made baked goods, bagels, fruits, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Children: There are no children currently living in the home, so the home has not been properly child-proofed. However, we are happy to welcome them into the home on a case by case basis. Please just contact us for further information. Infants and children do count as guests, and we ask that you kindly include them in your total number of guests. Pets: We love pets, so they are welcome with prior approval, for an additional $10/night fee. We will edit your reservation to include this fee, which you may then accept prior to arrival. If you find it easier, you may choose to count your pet as your third “person” when booking to have the $10/night fee automatically reflected in your total. Pets must be with their parents at all times and remain in specified areas. We ask that pet parents supervise their pets at all times and clean up after their pets in the designated dog walk area. Pets may not be left alone in the home without their parents. We also ask that your pet be leashed at all times when outside of your room, for safety reasons. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that dogs who are excessive barkers stay at a nearby pet hotel. We must ask pet owners to take responsibility for any damages caused by pets during their stay with us. We do have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They are not allowed in guest bedroom/bathroom areas, but currently reside in our daughter's upstairs apartment. You may meet them as you arrive or depart, but they are always under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo who lives in our apartment and is kept away from any guest areas except the porch, where she can occasionally be found sunbathing. If there is any concern about our pets or their access, please feel free to ask. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles.
Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. Our home sits between the Saco River to the East, and a golf course (open to the public) to the West, all within a short walk. Although there is some traffic on our road, there are many other trails and roads that will provide a relaxing and scenic walk.
  • Wonderful one night stay. Welcoming host, facilities to make coffee , comfy bed and included delicious breakfast. Couldn't ask for more .

    Pascale2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Best airbnb I've ever had the pleasure of staying in! Thanks for making our daughter's wedding weekend easier and relaxing by having an awesome place so close to her venue. Keep up the good work.

    Joy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Gary’s home is amazing - we couldn’t have asked for anything more and it completely exceeded our expectations, and (unfortunately for future hosts) set the bar really, really high for Airbnb experiences! Sandra and Gary were kind, hospitable and helpful. Their home was clean and well decorated. There is a coffee station easily accessible and complete with everything you could ask for, and snacks and a stocked mini fridge in the bedroom. We were in heaven. They also serve breakfast in the morning. There were more than enough vegan options including dairy-free coffee creamer which left us feeling so spoiled and well taken care of. If you are considering staying here, please do. We will definitely be back!

  • Beautiful home great place to stay and so many wonderful extra touches. Really dog friendly also!!

    Reba2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the wonderful place. The older house is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and there are so many small things to make the stay for the guests nicer. We really enjoyed it.

    Fabian2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the River Inn when we attended a wedding, just up the street at the Barn at Flanagan Farm. The River Inn was very clean, conveniently located, a great value, and there were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay extra comfortable, from the sensor lights on the way to the bathroom, to the stocked snack and drink supply in our room.

    Megan2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Gary have a huge house, because the other room was vacant that night, we enjoyed the entire second floor alone, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very rich, I don't know how to list them all, thanks to Sandra and Gary for giving us a warm home on our journey.

    Hai2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The River Inn is a wonderful place to stay! It is well situated for discovering the Portland area, but more importantly, the lovely hosts Sandra and Gary make sure that you'll have not only all you need, but all you could possibly wish for! There even was a delicious breakfast in the morning - a truly perfect stay!

One bedroom apartment on horse/sheep farm in Hollis, Maine. View of farm from living room, bedroom on second floor up very steep farm stairs. One Queen comfy bed. There is a day bed in the living room. 21 miles from Portland and Kennebunkport.
The apartment is attached between the barn and my house with it's own entrance through a shed in the barn. The shed is a shed with barn stuff and it's messy, this is a farm and you do have to walk through part of the barn to get to the apartment, if walking through an old barn with old stuff freaks you out enough to take photos and send them to airbnb complaining about the barn then this is not the place for you. This section of the farm was built in 1795, you will enter a very old shed with a few stairs to the apartment. There are a few cracks in the corner of a wall and a small crack on the ceiling. Even when fixed the house shifts and this happens. It's entirely possible, but not probable, that a small spider may be hanging out on in a corner on the ceiling, if this happens and it is freaking you out please call me and I will come re-home it. It's an old farm house, but a charming apartment to put your feet up in. There are very steep stairs going to the bedroom on the second floor. If you have mobility problems it would be a challenge. There is a full kitchen and large bath and living room on the first floor. There is a pack and play in the upstairs closet if you need it for your young child.
Lily Brook Farm is in the small hamlet of Clarks Mills which is in Hollis Center. There is a diner about 1.5 miles down the road, and a small store where supplies can be had. There is a large grocery store 4 miles away. Hollis Center has a full service spa ( The New Leaf Salon & Spa) next to the Mom and Pop store (1.5 miles down the road)...you can get a massage or a mani-pedi if you are so inclined. This is very new and very exciting to have in Hollis Center!! Hollis is a half hour drive East to Portland and a half hour drive South to Kennebunkport, two very cool towns.
  • Nina's farm was a magical stay. Me and my boyfriend fell in love with all the farm animals (especially the sweet black cat.) The apartment itself was homey and a warm oasis in the middle of the Maine winter. Pia was incredibly helpful showing us around the farm and so kind. This was my favorite airbnb experience and I will certainly be returning soon

    Jackie2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic slice of farm heaven. Cozy spot on a beautiful Farm. If entering through the active barn this is not the spot for you. If you don't like narrow stairs this spot is not for you. If you like cozy spaces and warm blankets the spot is for you.

    Randell2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cozy place to stay on a lovely old Maine farm.

    Gemma2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, peaceful area with beautiful trails stretching behind the house. Nina was a gracious host and an excellent communicator throughout our booking and check-in process. A great place for a quiet stay in between days of sightseeing, and there is plenty to see on the farm itself between the animals and the trails. I will be back!

    Claude2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nina was a wonderful host and very accommodating to last minute arrival changes. The place is spacious and well kept. Great tour of the farm!

    Reilly2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such an awesome find. The house had so much personality and really just felt like a home which I appreciate very much. My daughter loved the animals and had a great time. Plus Nina was so great and really understanding because my daughter was very much underfoot in her excitement to see everything. Nina just took it in stride! Can't wait to go again.

    Jenny2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place is exactly as described. Nina was easy to contact and very easy going. Although on a farm, the apartment is clean, quiet and doesn’t smell! Would recommend and would stay again!

    Ted2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nina is a fantastic host, very accommodating to her guests, and strives to make their stay comfortable and memorable. She is always available via cell phone should any questions/concerns arise. I will definitely stay at Lily Brook Farm again! Thank you, Nina!!

  • Meg's place is a cozy apartment with tasteful furnishings and filled with unique and interesting photos and antiques. The location is quiet and the surroundings are picturesque Maine countryside. Meg herself was a wonderful host - very helpful, personable and extremely responsive. She has thought about all the little touches that make her place feel warm and welcoming. If you are in southern Maine and looking for a relaxing place to stay, my wife and I can highly recommend Meg's place!

    Steve2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy little apartment, comfortable and clean. Two well behaved small dogs and one extremely friendly and loving cat. A few chickens that just avoided us. Check in was super easy and Meg gave us multiple good restaurants to try, along with a binder full of more restaurants and local activity’s to do. around

    Jacob2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was so nice to stay in and was an easy drive in and out of Portland, with much to do around the area as well. The apartment was extremely clean and had so many amenities, like breakfast and a huge assortment of DVD movies to watch at night. We had such a lovely stay and would definitely go back if in Maine again.

    Alyssa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little hide-away 30mins or so from Portland. Was a PERFECT location for us, just down the road from small music festival at a friend's farm. Meg was gracious and welcoming -- waiting up on the porch to greet her slightly delayed arrivals with no complaint and giving us a quick tour to settle us in. The space is very tidy and very homey. It's like, part of the basement of the main house, but it's almost like being on a quaint little movie-set house in the middle of the larger unfurnished space. There's a minifridge and some essentials right outside the main door, the netflix works nicely, the bed's on the soft side, but comfy. Really pretty back yard and patio area if you get a chance to just chill out. All in all a great spot.

    Gregg2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place

    Kadir2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cozy and not too far from cool places like Portland and the White Mountains. It was a pleasure to stay at Meg's apartment.

    Jordan2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Meg’s place was a nice stay for us. It was myself, husband, and one year old daughter. She has a big backyard with a garden and chickens that my daughter loved to go look at. Plenty of kids books and games as well which is such a nice touch. She has a great book that tells you local recommendations and places to eat if need be. We were there for one night, just passing through. In the description and book a continental breakfast is advertised but there was nothing left out for us, other then that, everything else was nice.

  • Great Place to stay. I love horse.

    Puyang2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic farm cottage with spectacularly beautiful surroundings. Joy and Peter made sure everything was perfect for our stay, and there wasn't a single thing we needed that wasn't provided. We enjoyed getting fresh eggs from the chickens in the mornings, picking fresh strawberries, lettuces, tomatoes, and more from the beautiful & abundant garden. The views from the cottage are like a postcard, and Joy and Peter made our stay comfortable, relaxing and fun. We stayed in the cottage for several months during both very hot and some chilly days and we were always comfortable. Enjoy your cocktails on the back deck while watching the rescue horses graze. You might even see some wild turkeys in the afternoons. If you want a peaceful place to stay near Portland, just like the name implies, A Moment's Peace Farm would be very hard to beat. Will definitely stay here again.

    Mary2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. If you love animals and the peacefulness of scenery, it’s perfect. Wonderful for a family and was the perfect distance from the wedding we were attending. Would definitely stay here again!!

  • Very clean and peaceful! You’ll enjoy your stay.

    Emily2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Easy check in.

    Brett2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The farm is much larger than we expected, and it is just a beautiful, peaceful piece of land, in a very quiet area with miles and miles of farmland, and forrest. The garden is huge, and you are free to pick and use whatever you like, which is a very generous offer. you are also able to enjoy daily fresh eggs from their chickens. The horses are beautiful. We didn't spend nearly enough time relaxing and enjoying the farm because we were out sightseeing and exploring Maine! I'd recommend trying to spend more time relaxing at this awesome property. It was around a 35-40 minute drive to Portland, and Kennebunkport. Not too far away, but maybe too far to stop back at home during the day. For that reason, we pretty much left in the morning and came back after dinner. If you have the chance, maybe plan to hangout there, and cook at the cottage. there's a full kitchen, and you can pick all of your own veggies!

    Brett2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Moment's Peace Farm. My wife and I spent 5 nights there with our three boys (7, 5, and 5 months). The location was beautiful and serene; the boys loved checking for eggs in the chicken coop every day;and we made ample use of the pool, too. I'd highly recommend Joy and Peter's place to someone looking for a Maine getaway. They provided a binder with tons of local recommendations, and they were very quick to respond any time we had a question. Such a great stay!

  • I only stayed at this BnB for one night, but I had a really positive experience. Meg is extremely thoughtful and down to earth, you feel right at home as soon as you get there. They have some lovely pets that are so very friendly and lovable. I’m actually allergic to cats but didn’t experience any symptoms here. They keep the house very clean and I think that helps. Meg helped us in a big way by dropping us off somewhere, which saved us time and money. We will be back if we ever find our way back to this area of the country.

  • Meg and Mark were very friendly and the room was quite nice. The animals are fun and we had a great weekend!

  • Absolutely wonderful! Everything is as described. We stayed here for three nights and ventured out to Portland many times at night, which is only 30 minutes away! Meg and Marks place is so comfy and homey. My bf and I also enjoyed the board games in the bedroom and found that to be so much fun. Even though we were there for three nights it still felt super fast! Definitely stay here if you want a comfy getaway and peaceful stay. Thank you Meg for being so great, I loved all your touches and details all throughout your home :)

  • What a beautiful, peaceful, inviting, and relaxing home. Meg and Mark are delightful hosts and have the friendliest and most snuggable furry-babies! I cannot wait to share space with them in their home again.

  • The space is beautiful, filled with lovely people and animals. The bed is so so comfy and there are plenty of pilllows and blankets to keep you nice and warm. The light is amazing and there is plenty of privacy. The kitty slept right on my chest after I welcomed him to the bed. This could be very easily curved by closing the door if that’s not your thing. The shower was warm and had a selection of toiletries for me to use. I was provided with a robe and slippers as well. The hosts were so kind and welcoming and I really enjoyed getting to know them.

    Ruby2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Meg and her husband are both so welcoming! Their house is very charming and beautifully comfortable- everything you would think of in a Maine farmhouse. We also loved time with all their fur babies who were just an added plus. The house is clean, exactly as pictured, and easy to get to from Portland or Kennebunkport. We would definitely recommend this place!

  • My boyfriend and I spent four cozy nights at Nick’s place. It was rainy and grey for a majority of our trip, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the beautiful view, the warm campfire, and the snazzy outdoor shower! The king bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the pellet stove kept us toasty. Neither of us had ever used a composting toilet, and by the end of our trip we were talking about wanting one in the future. We hated leaving, and would love to go back!

    Genavieve2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super cozy and has a full kitchen and microwave. We only stayed the night but we plan on coming back as the house is right by a river and Nicholas and Abigail provide a canoe for daytime adventures. Thanks so much, this place is an awesome little getaway!

    LeighAnn2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts hospitality and kindness was next level—it far exceeded the hospitality I’ve ever experienced, even at fancy resorts. I was looking for a secluded place but not totally in the middle of no where to stay to be “one with nature” but also be able to explore Portland. This was perfect in every way. From the little home, you can’t see any other properties which is so amazing. Just beautiful trees and amenities to enjoy like a fire pit, indoor fire stove thingy (forgive me idk the name), and the water is right down the hill (the private dock with the canoes were our favorite touch). It’s very private but the hosts live about 500 ft away and were always quick to respond if we had any questions (like restaurant reqs). TBH, I have hardly ever left a review for anything in my life but our stay was so great and the hosts were so gracious that I had no choice. I literally left our stay saying “wow I guess humans don’t suck” after Nick dropped everything to help us with car trouble. Thank you so much!

    Caroline2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space was the perfect combination of a camp and a modern living space. The hosts were responsive when needed and it truly felt like our own private space!

    Samantha2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot in the woods very private

    Katie2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot that is super comfortable and well done with some rustic touches. We really enjoyed the provided fishing poles and cooking supplies. The toilet took a little to get used to, but it was otherwise a seamless stay! Thank you so much!

    Cailey2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stayed . We really enjoyed the river, the birds and nature surrounding us!! We absolutely recommend this house! Thanks for everything Nicholas!

  • Very spacious. We had a family of 10 and felt like there was plenty of room, including a loft area. The BBQ was a big plus for cooking outside. Beautiful views off of the pond, including lovely sunsets. Peaceful surroundings. The use of kayaks and canoe was fun. Great location - 30-45 minutes from Sebago Lake State Park and Goose Rock beach. The hosts family lives close by and is very responsive. Overall, fantastic spot for a summer vacation with extended family.

  • We had a fantastic family vacation. My granddaughters loved their "kids zone' in the loft and they spent hours in the water. The house is spacious and well supplied. The location was ideal - within a half hour of Portland, Old Orchard Beach and a good-sized grocery store. The service and communication with Janet was first rate. Thank you!

    Emma2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A good, comfortable, clean home. Being so close to OOB and Portland was fantastic (approx 30-40mins away) and the access to the pond with a canoe and kayaks is a major bonus as well. With a mix of ages ranging from 2-53 it was the perfect location for swimming and relaxation for everyone.

    Billy2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, beautiful summer sunsets. Great family time with loads of room. Only a short ride (within 30 minutes) to the city. You’ll love Janet as a host!

    Lisa2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family was super pleased with the space inside and outside the house. Great zero depth section of the lake where littles can toddle and the water was clean enough that the fussy teens were constantly in the water as well! Great place to enjoy the outdoors and make memories!

  • We were a large group ranging in age from 82 to 8. We had a great time and the house was well stocked. Janet was very quick to respond to any question and provided a long list of recommendations on things to do, but the house is so nice you might not want to leave! Highly recommend!

This cabin is cozy, adorable, and waiting for you! Rock on the porch, have a cook out...gas grill and gas fire pit included in warm weather...or sit inside by the fire and watch the snow in the winter. Always plenty to do year round! Located on a small, dead end dirt road that runs beside Bonny Eagle Pond, approximately 30 minutes from Portland, Biddeford and Saco, and 15 minutes from North Windham. Come stay with us!
The cabin has warm, finished pine floors, walls and ceilings in most rooms with a charming fieldstone chimney in the living room. There is an enclosed porch for rocking, or outdoor furniture for getting some sun, a propane grill for cookouts and a propane fire pit for those nice summer nights. In the winter, there is a cozy propane fireplace inside and a well plowed driveway. It is clean and comfortably furnished, and even includes games, books and puzzles to help you pass the time. The cozy living room has a pretty propane stove connected to a thermostat used to heat the building in cold weather. No need to touch it, it will come on and off like magic if needed! There is an air conditioner to take the edge off those hot summer nights, but it will not be cold. A comfy couch, loveseat and oversized chair with ottoman are great for kicking back and relaxing. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and clothes washer and dryer. There is a Keurig coffee maker in the kitchen, and we have a few coffee pods available, along with some tea, sugar and creamer, to get you started with that first cup or two. Pots, pans, toaster, dishes, etc. are also included along with a few paper plates and other paper goods. Grill utensils are also provided. The small dining room is set up for four, but a table leaf is available to expand if if necessary....just ask us to help and if extra chairs are needed. The bedroom has a queen size bed with a cute fence headboard and a rocking chair, as well as plenty of closet and drawer space. It is right off the air conditioned/heated living room, so if you leave the connecting door open the room should stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. While the bathroom is not connected to the bedroom, it is right next door, only a few steps away...and you have the whole cabin to yourself. There are two Smart TVs, one in living room and one in bedroom. There is wifi available, but occasionally signal can be weak...it is strongest in the dining room and kitchen. The interior of the main house is in very good condition with lots of wood and cabin decor. The exterior has a new roof and is being prepped for painting. The new facelift will do wonders! There is a wing which is currently not being rented where another bed, bath and sitting room are being added. There is already another propane stove hooked up and running in one of the new rooms, also on a thermostat, so the whole place nice and warm in the winter. We are continually making improvements!
The cabin is on a quiet dead end dirt road on Bonny Eagle Pond. There are fewer than a dozen houses on the road, and many of them are family. It is generally peaceful and nice for short walks. Portland, Biddeford, and Saco are all approximately 30 minutes away, and North Windham about 15 minutes. Flanagan Farm, a popular wedding destination, is 12 minutes away. Many lakes and beaches are nearby, as well as stores, breweries, and amusement parks. Very centrally located!
  • A quaint, clean cabin with water views and exactly what we needed for a weekend away. Thank you!

  • Marie’s cabin was great! A friend and I rented it for a relaxing do-nothing weekend in winter, and this property served that purpose perfectly. It was very cozy, especially with the gas stove for heat, and we really enjoyed our stay. Also, Marie was very easy to communicate with when we needed help to adjust the heat. I definitely recommend renting here!

Fun little apartment right across the street from the beach with 1 bedroom with a full size bed and a futon. I allow up to 4 adults in this unit but please be warned that 4 adults inside this unit will feel pretty cramped. It’s more ideally set up for 2 people. The major draw here is the unit is less than 100yds to the beach and just a few hundred yards to the center of town. Walk anywhere in just minutes. Comes with one free parking spot. Building is old but cute and tidy. Very affordable.
  • Joey’s place was lovely. It was in a great location right across the road from the beach, and a 5-10 minute walk to the pier and shopping, nightlife, etc. Joey was so great with communication right from the start & was incredibly kind and accommodating. The unit itself is small but cute and has everything you would need for your stay. There is train tracks right behind and there’s a train that goes through early in the AM and startled us the first night, but we slept with the windows shut the next evening and barely heard it. We absolutely will be back next year.

    Dylan2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little apartment. Very close to the beach, a little further from the main street (so less noisy). Owner and manager very kind.

    Laurence2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Joey's place is exactly as stated. It is used from the beach. You just cross the street Andy

    Liza2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and convenient studio. 3 minutes walking from the beach. Kitchen, bathroom, shower all is equipped and good to go. The only interesting surprise can be a railway right out of the window. Sometimes trains shakes the whole apartment and ride at night. Which was kinda fun, but I wouldn't stay here long-term because of this. Overall experience was nice.

    Mikhail2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Beach Breeze! The apartment was very clean and wasn’t missing anything. The only thing is that there is a train that passes by right behind the building which woke us up a few times during the night but the location so close to the beach really makes up for it. We would definitely stay there again!

Our very special cottage is comfortable and inviting. We offer all lake activities boating kayaking, paddle boarding fishing from our dock. Just 20 miles from the ocean and downtown Portland with the best seafood you will ever find. Come be charmed by our cottage and all Maine has to offer.
Our cottage is 50ft off a spring fed lake. Down a private gravel road. We share the lake with many other cottages , but it is quite and serene . We have a dock and a swim raft along with 2 kayaks, one paddle boat, small fishing boat And one canoe. Fishing license can be bought at local hardware store 1 mile away. We also have life jackets , tubes and toys for the kids. At night sit around our fire pit and tell ghost story's . If your an early riser come have your coffee on the porch and catch one of our spectacular sun rises. The cottage is fully equipped with all that you will need, sheets and bedding, we do not supply towels. We can accommodate those who will be flying in with towels. We have Internet, TV , Netflix , A full kitchen with gas stove, microwave, refrigerator. Downstairs the bedroom has a queen bed, with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. Upstairs, there is a queen bed and two twin beds. Two couches in the down stairs living area. If you need a larger home we have a 4 bedroom, two houses down on the lake. We also have a new upscale 3+ bedroom, 3 bathroom right on the lake
This cottage has a very special history. It belonged to my aunt who was a prisoner of war in World War Two . After she returned home she wrote to my uncle that this cabin was the only place on earth she felt at peace. If you come you will feel it yourself. We have taken the cottage and completely remodeled it, but have kept it’s charm and history. Come and enjoy.

  • Patricia’s house was wonderful. It was close to Portland and other area attractions. The house itself and outdoor space were so lovely we changed our plans so we could spend more time there. Highly recommended for friends or families.

  • This isn’t just a house, it’s a story. The decor is absolutely quaint New England lake house. It has a family feel. Everything was clean and comfortable. We took the kayaks out, made dinner in the kitchen, and spent a lot of time on the pitch and by the fire. This was a cozy experience and I would definitely visit again.

Come vacation in this lovely, fully furnished cottage. Swim in the warm shallow water, take a canoe ride, sun yourself on our private raft, drown a worm while fishing off shore, read a book on our private pier or enjoy vibrant colors at peak foliage.
In the summer enjoy the water. During fall, enjoy the colors of the foliage season reflecting in the calm waters of Bonny Eagle Lake. This is the perfect spot to relax all day or, to launch your day trips into Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont. Fireplace operates with Duraflame logs or equivalent (not wood). • What can I say about our stay at Norm's Place. It was nothing but a slice of heaven! From the moment your feet his the property, you can note how meticulously maintained the entire grounds are by its owners. From the largest of details including the perfect setting on a picturesque lake to the lovingly-decorated and fastidiously clean interior, you immediately understand what a labor of love goes into maintaining such a perfect property. Norm's response time was immediate and we had every amenity available to us: including a double-sided waffle maker, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker, hair dryer and tea-kettle. My son was even excited to take a bath in the impeccably cleaned tub after a fun day of catching 3 fish. The gravel-lined dirt roads were perfect for providing privacy from the main roads and safety to our children playing ball. The close-by supermarket and pharmacy (less than 5 minute drive away) was just perfect for last minute meal prep and the running track at the high-school up the street was enjoyed by my husband. If you're up for the worlds best lobster roll, enjoy a 20 minute ride to Patch's where you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and value! Truly the best one around! Our only disappointment was that we only booked one night. Our children have begged us to make this an annual tradition, and we are all on board with this request. We look forward to booking an extended stay next year and swimming in the surprisingly warm (this time of year) and clean lake.

    Mary2019-09-27T00:00:00Z

  • Marta and Erwin’s place was amazing. We had such a great time and my dog loved it. They even provided a bed for him with toys and cookies. Very very amazing hosts, would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend!

    Maggie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Marta and Erwin are simply awesome! One of the best stays we’ve ever had so far! They’re super responsive and were providing a lot of options to overcome some unexpected weather related hiccups which they of course didn’t have any control on! Everything worked out perfectly and they truly made us felt at home, and our dog simple loved them! Hats off to them for being such outstanding hosts! Thanks soo much guys!

    Karen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Marta and Erwin have a lovely and extremely clean space. They checked in to make sure we had all our needs taken care of without being invasive. The location is very pretty and quiet, and the property is very well taken care of. Stay with them!

  • Such a beautiful place to stay. Marta and Erwin were great, and super flexible with our stay!

  • This lovely apartment features more “extras” than one can imagine—an experience full of bonuses! Not only is the suite of rooms new, tasteful, sparkling clean and very spacious, but there are TWO bathrooms (one with two showers, including a tub-shower), a lovely screened in porch, another porch with a large porch swing, views out to peaceful woods, a comfortable living room with reclinable couch and chair, and in and on. The kitchen is fully appointed with everything an excellent cook would need to live there for weeks or months. There are elegant candles and special lighting including many dimmer switches throughout, a computer on the desk in the office space, lots of menus for local restaurants, a lock box for keeping valuables, and a dog bed and fun new toy left for my dog. I was very pleasantly surprised by the obvious care and thoughtfulness put into the decorating and furnishing of this apartment, and hope to return whenever I am able. Thank you to my gracious hosts!

At this time we are keeping the property vacant for at least a day between guests. This allows us to complete a very thorough disinfecting process. This home is a 15 minute drive from beautiful Biddeford Pool beach. The home is tucked away in a quiet suburban neighborhood but just 1 mile from the many restaurants of downtown Biddeford. Portland is 30 minutes north and Kennebunkport 30 minutes south. There are so many wonderful restaurants in our little city!
You have this house to yourself, an enclosed private back yard, and comfortable front porch. There are two bedrooms , each with a queen bed. In the living room is a pull-out couch if a third bed is desired.
  • Pat's place was a perfect spot for us as we traveled to Maine to visit the UNE campus. The space was much larger than expected with lovely art on the walls and plenty of space to relax and unwind. Would definitely stay here again.

This large comfy, furnished room is the perfect place to rest up after a day of touring around or enjoying one of Maine’s many beaches or parks. You will have everything you need to refresh and recharge. Located in a quiet neighborhood free of traffic and highway noise, you can enjoy all the bustling coast has to offer but be away from the noise to relax for the evening. (Sorry...heated in-ground swimming pool closed for season.) the large room has a queen bed plus a single pull out sofa bed.
We are about 6-7 miles to the beautiful beach at Pine Point and just over 8 miles to Old Orchard Beach. You can enjoy some of the greatest beaches in the northeast! A few of our favorite places to go to are “Scarborough Grounds” (great coffee and not a big chain), “O’Reilly’s Cure”, and “Dunstan Tap and Table” for great places to eat/drink. We are also just 10 miles to Portland's "Old Port" and all that this city within a City has to offer! Great Music, food, and craft beers for starters!
  • Very large room in a peaceful neighborhood. Wonderful hosts, and a v cute dog :-)

Your bed and bath are on the first floor of our lakefront home on Mousam Lake. An entryway gives you easy access to the deck with relaxing water views and frequent gorgeous sunsets. Shared space includes a den withTV, games, Keurig and futon, as well as well as a laundry room, and a separate room with small refrigerator, microwave and toaster oven. The rooms are largely finished in knotty pine and wallboard. An A/C unit added to the centrally located den.
Two kayaks, a canoe and a paddleboat are available for guest use, along with life vests. Our waterfront is not suitable for swimming, but a good public beach at "the foot of the lake" is at the junction of Routes 109 and 11, which is only two miles from "camp", just across the road from Acton Trading Post. Be careful of in and out traffic in that area. If you are more adventurous, and water levels are at typical summer levels, you may want to take the kayaks out to main lake where you can swim off the sandbar mid-lake outside Hubbard's Cove. Note that there is a window air conditioner centrally located in the den.
13th Street is paved and well maintained. It's a pleasant 1.2 mile walk to the Fairgrounds. The neighborhood is relatively quiet with many year-round residents. Our home surrounded by beautiful tall pine rests on a hillside on a small cove. Hubbards Cove has a short channel leading to Upper Mousam Lake.
  • A beautiful location.

    John2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • This experience was perfect for my partner and me. Carol, Paul, and their beautiful dog, Kenny, are lovely, and their guest apartment is sparkling clean and delightful. The outside decks overlooking Moussam Lake, flowers, grill, and fireplace are all lovely as well. We hope we can return next year!

    Diane2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to relax and enjoy a fabulous view of the water. The porch is beautiful... in the morning with the breezes off the lake, in the evening with the sunsets and flaming torches (if you wish). Hardly any bugs during out trip. The beds are very comfortable and the place is filled with thoughtful touches. We enjoyed our paddle boat exploration of the peaceful cove and swimming at the uncrowded beach a short drive away with its clear, delightful water. Our hosts were most gracious providing extras like firing up the grill for those of us used to charcoal grills. We plan to return.

    Diana2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The views cannot be beat. We spent most of the day on the water or by the water. Carol and Paul are very hospitable hosts. We had everything we needed in the kitchenette area and if we needed something, it was readily provided. Will definitely come back.

    Vera2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • A little piece of heaven where you will find everything you need and even more. The hosts are very welcoming and always there for our needs. I highly recommend this place.

    Judith2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Carol & Paul are wonderful hosts and really make you feel at home. This is a Beautiful spot directly on a cove on Mousam Lake - ground floor apartment - extremely clean and very comfortable. Great deck with gas grill, kayaks, canoes and tall pines! Kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls and utensils for grilling. Coffee was available, as well as little snacks such as popcorn, kind bars, etc. Highly recommended!!

This unconventional 1,200 sq ft. artist’s studio is private, quiet, comfortable and quirky. On the first level is a large multi purpose table, 4 ft. antique sink, water closet, custom slate and stone shower, and TV with free Netflix and Amazon prime. 15 steps lead you to the large, sunny, spacious bedroom with queen size bed, large daybed, sitting area with two antique settees and a porcelain sink. The decor is a mash up of antiques, fleamarket finds, and new pieces.
I put 100% into making the space one that I would be comfortable in myself: private, quiet, clean, convenient and comfortable. I expect my guests to treat it as if it were their own home, respect the time and effort that goes into maintaining it and ask that they; - PLEASE be careful if eating or drinking on the couches or daybeds. If necessary, there are always extra blankets or throws that can be put down. It’s much easier to clean wine or chocolate off that then it is to clean the upholstery – do not not wipe anything on the towels that will not come out in the wash - the same with the bed linens – Lower the heat/air conditioning if you’ll be out for a considerable amount of time. Only leave on lights that are necessary. – Kindly be conservative with flushing and, please mademoiselles and señoritas nothing that could potentially clog some VERY old pipes
The property is on the outskirts of Westbrook 5 miles from the heart of Portland. It abuts acres and acres of undeveloped woodland. Although close to a major highway that can take one anywhere it is a quiet, safe “kids and dogs” neighborhood.
  • Pictures can’t do justice to the degree of character and individuality this space has; it’s absolutely delightful. It’s perfect for a couple looking for an unusual, fun space in the area, especially if you love that antiquated, refurbished vibe or the art studio vibe. Pete was also very quick with responses about questions.

    Chelsea2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The space is eclectic, rustic and filled with whimsical touches. Pete was very quick to respond with good humor as I arrived in the middle of a snowstorm! I would stay here again.

    Lorrie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful staying in Pete’s carriage house for the weekend. The house was clean and quiet and perfect for two people. Pete was very friendly and accommodating, and the decorations around the house really show his personality and charm. Check in and check out was easy and simple and we were sad to leave our quiet getaway when the weekend was done.

    Taylor2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pete’s place has so many quirky, fun things to look at. It’s a very warm, cozy place and I am so happy to have found this gem! I wish I could have stayed longer!

    Erin2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely stay at Pete's place. He is truly a super host. Communication was easy and prompt. The space exceeded my expectations. If you're traveling with a dog, THIS is the place to stay! There were so many thoughtful touches that made travel with our pup easy and enjoyable: extra towels for paws, throw blankets to protect the furniture, flashlights for late-night walks, dog treats (!), a dog bed, and a fenced-in back yard. Beyond the dog accommodations, the bed is comfy, the location is easy if you're traveling through Portland, and the space is cozy and interesting to look at. We hope to stay again on our next trip that way. Thank you, Pete!

  • Loved the space and the interesting personal touches. Very accommodating to dogs.

    Krissa2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying here! The place was eclectic and had so many fun stories attached to the decorations. The personal touches were greatly appreciated, and made my first overnight travel with my dog a success. The communication was amazing, and Pete was extremely accommodating. Would highly recommend this place, and wish I was able to stay longer to learn more about the art and traveling attached to the decor.

    Gina2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We HIGHLY recommend this rental, especially if you have a taste for the eclectic. There is so much to see. The light in the bedroom is amazing. Great place for an artistic recharge. Convenient to South Portland and all its shopping and restaurants. Check out the breweries and distillery nearby.

Our home is a lovely colonial built in 1804, nestled in a quiet country setting. It has spacious rooms, many original features and modern amenities. You can enjoy your breakfast and coffee in the common area, or in the enclosed porch! When you are ready to go out, we are an easy distance to all that Maine has to offer (20 minutes to a beach, Maine Mall area; Portland--voted 2018 Restaurant City of the Year in Bon Appetit Magazine!). We would be so pleased to share our love for Maine with you.
The Space Description: Our Inn offers a rural, peaceful retreat in the small town of Hollis, Maine. However, we are only 20 to 30 minutes away from all of the wonderful options available in the city of Portland. We have owned the home since 2013 and have put a lot of love (and paint) into the home. We are still working on some parts of the home, so not all rooms in the house are accessible to guests. Room: The Blue Room is up one flight of stairs. The room is down the hall from a common area, where a coffee bar will be available each morning. Bathroom: Continuing down the hallway, you will have access to a shared, freshly painted bathroom, which includes double sinks and a shower with a bathtub. We have many conveniences right here in town, including a Hannaford’s within 5 minutes, a Dunkin’ Donuts, a Dollar General, an Aubuchon’s, local breakfast spots, a pizzeria, a fresh local produce market, Big Daddy’s ice cream stand, and our personal favorite, A New Leaf Salon & Spa. We are right down the street from a newly renovated golf course with a pub open to the public. Arrival: Upon arrival, we are pleased to offer you a quick tour and refreshments in your room. Breakfast (included): Our breakfast is vegetarian and vegan friendly, and includes fresh baked goods, bagels or english muffins, fruit, cereal with non-dairy milk options, tea, coffee, and juice. Please let us know if you have a dietary preference. We have two dachshunds on staff named Peanut and Sandy. They live with our daughter in her upstairs apartment but have no access to any guest rooms or baths. They can occasionally be seen and introduced upon arrival or departure, but are always kept under supervision. We also have a cat named Cleo, who resides in our apartment downstairs. She is not allowed in any guest areas, except the porch occasionally where she loves to sunbathe. If you have any concerns or questions about any of our pets, please let us know. Safe Zone: We welcome people from all continents, cultures, and lifestyles
  • Sandra and Gary’s place is incredibly nice, and very true to Maine character. They are very thoughtful in the touches they added and are very accommodating, not to mention their incredible hospitality. This place won’t dissapoint!

  • An amazing time! The space is so nice and exceeded all of our expectations. Gary’s recommendations were spot on and we were so comfortable and well looked after. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone within 30 miles of Portland!

  • Wonderful stay! One of best Air Bnbs we have stayed at. Thoughtful touches. 30 mins from Portland. Gary was lovely!

    Melissa2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were in Maine to attend a wedding and rather fortuitously chanced upon Sandra and Gary's place. Sandra and Gary are great hosts and run an impeccable operation in their beautiful farmhouse. We were traveling with an infant and they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable.

    Abhilash2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Simply one of the best Airbnb we have been able to do so far. Sandra and Gary are lovely people. The house is a cozy nest. In short ... We recommend without a doubt!

    Charlotte2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful find, and a great deal! An overnight stay to visit friends turned into a mini vacation by Sandra and Gary's warm hospitality and many thoughtful touches in the room. Would definitely stay here again!

    Gary2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at Sandra and Gary's! My stay with them reminded me why I use Airbnb instead of hotels. Their house is lovely and they thought of all the little details. I had a great time chatting with them, and they made me feel at home. I'd definitely recommend staying here!

    Rachel2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our stay here! So so friendly and warm ! We even got a sweet little welcome gift and the bedroom was so cozy and even has an AC which came in handy in the heat! The bathroom was shared but very spacious and had soaps and towels at the ready! Breakfast was a nice touch too. Gary even got up early with us to get us sorted with breakfast before we left. Will stay again and HIGHLY recommend!!

Close to local swimming holes, hiking trails, lakes, and local rivers and only 30 minutes to Portland, Old Orchard and Kennebunkport. local breweries, golf and more.
  • Tent site as describe, no courant water but drinkable water provided ! There is a grill on the fire pit so you can cook your diner ! The site is near a gas station and a dunkin donut. Very clean place and very nice host, thank you Stacey !

  • Everything was perfect, a great spot to camp.

    Jesús2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic campsite, with fire ring, camp shower, chairs and a small table. The campsite is nestled in a little recess in the corner of the yard and gives you tons of privacy. Water is available and convenient, and we had access to plenty of firewood. There is amazing stargazing just feet from the tent area! Stacey was extremely helpful, very friendly, and super nice. She even gave us suggestions for things to check out on our travels. If you’re interested in camping this is a GREAT value super close to Portland. We had a fantastic experience!

    Arun2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • It is clean and comfortable. The bed is extremely soft. If you need a soft bed, this will be perfect for you. They had freshly made banana bread out on the counter which was lovely.

  • Quaint cute space, perfect for a weekend reunion for best friends! Peter and Mim very very responsive and the space was super clean!

    Meaghan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peter & Mim’s place was great. It has a very cozy feel and was located among trees. There were fresh breakfast items left for us, which was a nice gesture. I would stay there again.

    Kamelianna12019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Peter and Mim are responsive and kind. There was milk and eggs in the fridge and homemade spice cake. Sebago Lake, biking, walking trails, you name it and it is close by. Only 30 minutes to Portland. Don't hesitate!

    Naomi2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, right on the nature reserve, with a full kitchen, living area, & deck, in an attached guest wing of the main house. Perfect for those looking to disconnect and spend some time in nature. Wish we'd had more time to explore. Even their neighbors were nice; we stumbled onto someone's land while trying to find a way out of the reserve (tbf we were slightly off-trail). The lady out in the garden was nothing but kind, even mildly amused, to see two random people sheepishly emerging from the woods onto her property. I'm sure there are actual trails you can walk on, we just walked straight into the woods from our hosts' backyard and found our way around the marshes & into the reserve. Found some weird quarry-looking place that has clearly been dug up, weren't sure what that was about, but we had to leave for a wedding before we could explore further. Saw some awesome bird action; wild turkeys, vultures, jays. Do a tick check after you leave though, we had a ton of them on us. Thanks to Peter & Mim for being such gracious hosts. Also, Mim is an incredible baker, if you get a chance to try some of her baked goods, DO IT <3

  • The hostel maintains its unique style in every room. The employees are very friendly, helpful and they give great tips for interesting restaurants! The location is a great starting point for a walk through the city.

    Alex2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location. I've stayed in the group room before, but this is my first time in a private room. This is a much better option if you don't want to wake up too early. Also, nobody else had to listen to me snoring.

    Jon2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for great price. My default option in Portland now.

    Mark2020-01-23T00:00:00Z

    Caroline2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this place enough. The whole place is colorful and filled with fun designs, the staff is kind and communicative, everything is very clean, the check-in and check-out process was easy, and they serve REALLY good coffee in the morning. Not to mention, the location is perfect for walking to wherever you want to go. Would definitely recommend staying here.

    Josette2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect location for anyone wanting to explore the Old Port in Portland. Just foot steps away are as many bars, restaurants, and shops a person could want. We also loved how stylish and clean the space was. We will definitely come back next time we are in Portland!

This STUDIO apt is bright, comfy, beachy, beautiful! The location is outstanding - walking distance to all of downtown. Central to beaches & activities. A/c and parking included. I am flexible, friendly, and happy to share info about Portland. Check our reviews, ask us questions, or just come stay with us!
This studio space is simply perfect for what you need. It's comfortable and it feels like home because it is. It's filled with great art, pieces of handmade furniture, etc. The space is ideal for 1 or 2, as there is only the one QUEEN size bed. But you could sleep a third person on the couch. I've slept on that couch myself many nights and it is very comfortable. Additional details to know... As stated and pictured, this is a studio apartment - meaning all one room. But for a studio it is quite large and spacious. We have a bistro set in the bay windows for dining, enjoying coffee, or sitting on your laptop. TV with apple TV set up. Full size couch and coffee table. Full kitchen. Small, but clean bathroom, with a stall shower - no tub. A/c and ceiling fan. Black out curtains if you like to sleep in. Off-street parking included. Coin-op laundry in the basement.
GREAT neighborhood! We are in the historic district and surrounded by beautiful old homes and brick mansions. We're also right around the corner from Longfellow Square, filled with great restaurants, bars, shops, small live music venues. Longfellow Sq is in the Arts district, home to Portland's best galleries and the Portland Art Museum. We neighbor the Old Port, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our home. Here are some other landmarks that are helpful... *** About 5 blocks from the Portland Museum of Art and handfuls of galleries. *** Just a couple minutes any direction to great coffee shops, breakfast spots, and my personal favorites, Tandem and Holy Donut. ***Just a couple of blocks South of Deering Oaks Park and a couple of blocks North of the Western Promenade. Both are great parks for walking or watching the sunset. *** Just a couple of blocks from Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. A short 10-15 minute walk to USM and to the 3 grocery stores in Portland (Whole Foods, Hannaford, Trader Joes). ***A short 5 minute walk to the Seadogs Baseball Stadium and 10 minutes to the Civic Center. ***3.7 miles to the closest beach; 7-10 miles to 3 more beaches and Two Lights State Park on the ocean. 4 Miles to Fort Williams Park and Portland Head Light on the ocean. *** 15-20 minute drive to the airport (about $15-20 for a taxi or Uber)
  • Terrific location, includes parking! all amenities provided. The studio apt is in a great neighborhood in the Arts district, in my opinion much preferable than Old Port. Close to great restaurants and bars, within a mile of Old Port fun. Everything we needed was provided, the kitchen had what we needed to make meals. I saw a review that said the apt was small, I didn’t find that to be true. We had plenty of space. I would say a very large person might find the kitchen and bathroom snug but not a problem for most. The host’s folder of suggestions of things to do and restaurants/bars was very helpful. I hope to stay here again soon!

  • Nova’s apartment was in a great location for our weekend trip to Portland. It’s a cozy space and an easy walk to downtown. Her detailed instructions made check-in easy.

    Fiona2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a PRIME location. We barely used our car. We were able to have late nights around the town since the location was walking distance to the bars. Nova leaves a very thoughtful booklet of local tips and places that's very helpful. I'd book this Airbnb again.

    Melissa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Good location--pretty close to a lot of great restaurants, shops, etc. Lots of light, but good curtains to keep it dark for sleeping. And Nova's booklet of local tips was very useful in planning our stay.

    Zack2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great spot, and excellent location to explore Portland's art district and Longfellow square. The space itself was both cozy and well appointed. My partner and I would return anytime.

    Erica2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. Great location. We enjoyed the congress street restaurants more than any others in town. Everything was clean. Shampoo, conditioner etc provided. We would recommend.

    Tania2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Nova was a great host with quick responses and was very resourceful. She had a ton of great suggestions for things to do and the location of her place was great. Congress St., which is only a couple of blocks away, had awesome restaurants and bars. The bed in the place was extremely comfortable, especially after a camping trip. Would highly recommend this place for a 1 or 2 person stay.

    Sergio2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute space! It is a little smaller than I anticipated from the pictures, but we were in town for a wedding so we weren’t in the room much. Definitely a good location and is walkable to the old port as well as a bunch of restaurants and other spots close by. Very clean and easy check in.

The Walker House was built in the mid-1800s as a private home by Henry B. Walker who was wise enough to capitalize on all the clay in the soil in Maine and owned 3 brickyards. Now on The National Register of Historic Places, the house is located just over Portland townline so you’ll enjoy the space, quiet and safety of a family-oriented area with just minutes to the center of town.
  • Very stylish apartment, I would definitely recommend to everyone

    Walid2020-03-21T00:00:00Z

  • This space was uniquely beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed, Maine books, tv and extra kitchen and bathroom essentials as needed. And was incredibly great for our dog (fenced in yard, extra sheets, toys etc). All the touches really showed Pete wants your stay to be both comfortable and memorable. We would book again in a heartbeat.

  • What an absolutely charming apartment. The studio is huge and has absolutely everything that a visitor could want or need. We had a very short spur of the moment trip to Portland and felt very lucky to have found an apartment that was pet friendly with a fenced in yard. I will definitely go back to Portland (great little city) and when I do I hope to be able to stay again at this darling apartment.

    Joanne2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pete's place is the perfect space for a quick stay in Westbrook and AWESOME if you have a dog. The fenced in back yard was fantastic and the loaner chew toys were much appreciated (we loved the artwork, by the way...).

  • This is a very comfortable place for a getaway to the beach for two. The view of the ocean is wonderful, and beach access is just a few steps from the door. The place is warm in winter, and the kitchen is well equipped. Overall, we found the place to be as advertised.

    Al2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

  • This place is more amazing than the pictures depicted. The view is absolutely stunning ! It is so close to the beach and the garage was perfect . Leland is quick to respond and when his phone wasn’t working emailed an alternate number immediately. We could not have had a better stay anywhere else with anyone else . This will be our go to weekend escape for sure !!

  • A beautiful, funky place to stay. Older folks might not like it as there is a bit of a walk from the car park and there was plenty of snow. I had a great time, slept well even though it’s close to the road, and really enjoyed the communal breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

    Lisa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a little empty when I arrived, because it was the off-season, but I had a great stay. Easy parking, and a great kitchen and parlor room. Scott was very helpful and quick to respond whenever I had a question.

  • This was by far the best experience I have had with a host. Mark was kind and communicated effectivly. He was both patient and empathetic to my needs and gave me the upmost care. The place itself is historical and beautiful looking over the icy river front. Highly recommend.

  • Awesome late 19th century mansion, loaded with historical DNA. Mark is a great host and provides a nice breakfast to get your day started. If you're lucky to meet him, he has lots of anecdotes and stories to share about the house and its surroundings. A must stop by if you go thru the area. Mark is EV friendly, and let me plug-in my Tesla for an overnight top-up. Will definitely stop by again when in the area.

Pet's welcome! shared deck with fenced in yard.
Walking distance to Riverton school, Moran's Market. I live on a dead end street in a quiet neighborhood with lots of dogs. 15 minutes to the airport, buses, train and the heart of downtown Portland. Uber and Lyft easy to get anytime!
  • My week stay was excellent, I highly recommend Kimberly's place. Minutes away from downtown and grocery stores, charming/resourceful interior, and fast/clear communication.

Small 1 bedroom apartment very close to the beach. Bedroom has a full size bed and there is also a sofa couch. I will allow up to 4 adults to stay here but be warned that it would be cramped with 4 people in there. The real draw here is that this apartment is right across the street from the beach and just a very short walk to downtown old orchard beach and the pier etc. location is very ideal. The building is old but clean and neat. Perfect spot for one or two people to enjoy OOB affordably.
  • Location...Location! The beach is a short walk across the street. The Pier and main strip is walking distance just down the road. Centrally located to a lot of good shops, nature trails, and restaurants.

  • Cute little place so close to OOB. My boyfriend and I went with our pup - she loved the beach access in the early morning. Joey gave us a ton of recommendations for restaurants and bars. His property manager Kevin was great and the cute little sandwich shack next door had delicious lunch and breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great value and an awesome location- wake up and walk right across the street to the beach! Joey was easy and very prompt in communication - they even let us stay a little later since we got in late at night - would return and hope to do that next season for longer than a night

  • Joey was incredibly accommodating to our last minute booking (with a dog no less!) and the space was exactly as described, clean, and conveniently located. Perfect for a weekend beach visit for a couple. Thanks!

  • Nice place VERY close to the beach and sights of OOB. You won’t need to drive anywhere once you’re there! I expected it to be much smaller than it was, but for three of us- it was actually quite comfortable.

  • Angela was a wonderful host especially when it came to navigating a tricky situation. She responded quickly and was helpful and communicative.

  • What a great place to stay! It's close to downtown, close to Tandem bakery/coffee shop and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants that Portland has to offer. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is lovely, everything is so clean and self check in is easy with a combo lockset. It also has the cutest little travel iron we've ever seen. The listing is accurate, the spiral staircase is very fun but would not be easy to navigate if one was obese or had had too much to drink, especially at night. It requires a little focus and intention but we loved it! The availability of Netflix was a plus! Great little place!

  • Adorable place, great location, fun space, fantastic shower. Bed was very comfortable.

  • Angela's place was very clean & cozy. It's a great location & she has so many nice touches that really make you feel comfortable & at home.

  • Angela’s place was cute and perfect for what we needed! The parking map was super helpful, as was the binder with all the local suggestions. The shower is great and I loved the spiral staircase - super cute! It was easy to call Lyft whenever we needed a ride and left the car parked in the street with free parking all weekend. Definitely a good spot to stay in Portland!

    Meghan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Angela’s description is exactly right! Port City is within walking distance to a lot of great things to do, see & eat. We love Portland and would definitely stay here again in the future!

  • Angela's place was great. It was exactly as described so there were no surprises! The apartment was small, but it was a perfect space for our time there. The bathroom was amazing and the bed was super comfortable. The binder that was made was such a thoughtful and helpful touch. I plan to stay here again during the summer months, but even in the winter it was still in such a walkable location. I definitely recommend this place!
