  • This place is everything it says it is and more. Comfortable and clean wood cabin with fab scenery and walks. Gill is a great host who makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I also had nice chats with Peter. Good people.

  • If you’re looking for peaceful, homely and quiet this is the place to be! Gill was extremely accommodating and very informative. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you need for comfort.

    Robyn2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Gill's place, it was a perfect location for a quick getaway from london. We took our one year old, and Gill let her feed the chickens which she loved! There were quite a lot of low down things we had to hide from the little one, so if you are taking a mobile baby just be aware.

    Helen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A pleasant cabin and welcoming host. Great place to spend a few days.

    Matthew2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • The lodge was beautiful! Everything was as expected and described. There were lots of personal touches throughout the property and was spotless. Barbara was very flexible about when we arrived after driving down late from work and allowing us to just let ourselves into the property but despite being late, Barbara still greeted us when we arrived, showing us round. It was down a lane, privately gated and was easy to find. The grounds were beautiful and would love to stay again in the summer to really appreciate how beautiful they were. It was so quiet and the bed was extremely comfy - best night sleep we’d had in a long time. It’s close to Cranleigh where we had a lovely meal! Barbara beforehand told us of some lovely places to eat in the area so we could plan our weekend. Will definitely be staying again!

    Chloe2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very nice, spacious enough for us and our toddler, and the gardens are very safe (enclosed by a full wall) so that was great with a little one. Very comfortable, quiet, but only a short drive to nearby Cranleigh with shops and restaurants etc. A great base from which to explore the Surrey hills!

    Tom2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a glorious find! I stayed at Barbara's cottage when I was in Surrey for a wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The setting is rural, but also accessible to nearby Cranleigh (a lovely village by the way), and is so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful gardens and big trees. The cottage itself was spotless, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay - Barbara was thoughtful enough to accommodate my dietary requirements with the breakfast options that she leaves in the cottage, which I thought was really a nice touch. The bed was SUPER comfy, and the linen felt really luxurious. The night before the wedding, I really enjoyed the DVD collection too. Barbara was such a lovely host. She gave me all the information I needed, and made me feel so at home. I felt like I'd known her all my life! I really appreciated such generous hospitality, and would stay again in a heartbeat. I think I'd like to come back just to chill and clear my head space - it's that kind of place. Thanks again Barbara! And I will miss your gorgeous cat too! Holly

  • My wife and I had the most amazing night at Barbara’s stunning cottage in Surrey. The setting was incredible - so peaceful, picturesque and secluded - and only 5 mins from Cranleigh, where was had a lovely dinner and is a very pretty village. Barbara greeted us when we arrived and throughout was the most hospitable and welcoming host we’ve ever had through Airbnb. The cottage itself is so well equipped and was sparkling clean. The bed was comfy and we had our best night sleep in ages. The gardens surrounding the cottage are just spectacular too - I can’t even imagine how beautiful they would be in the summer. We could have walked around them for hours if it were a bit warmer! After just a night we were sad to leave but we will be returning soon for another romantic getaway from London. Thanks again Barbara! See you soon x

    Alex2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Barbara’s. The property is down a gravel track and I got lost on the way there but Barbara was great and gave me directions to the cottage. I was later than planned and Barbara was very flexible. The cottage is as described and had everything we needed - worth mentioning the oven/hob is table top so not suitable for a large feast but perfectly fine for cooking a quick meal for two. Bed is comfy and bathroom is very clean and modern. We used the hot tub which was lovely, although close to the main house. All in all, Barbara is a wonderful host and all her little personal touches made the cottage feel very cosy and homely.

    Lindsay2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Because me and my partner are living in North London, we wanted our vacation to be a get away from the loud city. Staying at Barbaras was just perfect for this! The spacious garden was lovely and quiet and the cottage itself is equipped with everything that you need. We cooked, had a little Barbecue and even watched a movie out of her big DVD Collection. Sometimes in the morning her beautiful Bengal cat was greeting us with a friendly meow. Barbara herself was very kind and helpful with every question that we had. All together it was just amazing. Thank you!

    Fabienne2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is a lovely place to stay and so peaceful, if you are looking for a relaxing experience then I highly recommend you stay here. Barbara left a lot of information on places to go/ eat, which was very helpful as we never stayed near the surrounding area before!

    Nick2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine's place is absolutely amazing - one of the best AirBnB's we've ever stayed at. There is so much attention to detail, from the food/drink items in the kitchen to the amenities in the bathroom. To top it all off the breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, granola, freshly baked bread, scrambled egg and salmon/bacon. We will definitely be coming back again soon!!

    Stuart2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A truly fantastic stay! Catherine was a fantastic host and the cabin was clean, relaxing and had everything you could need from a BnB! Breakfast in the morning was incredible and Catherine gave some great advise on things to do and places to eat out! It was great for a romantic weekend away and had everything we needed! Great location if the weather is nice and you enjoy hiking around Surrey / Box Hill but equally if the weather is bad it's perfect for just chilling inside and watching TV! All round great experience and would definitely return again!!

  • Wow, simply wow! This is such a fantastic place to stay. Catherine was absolutely amazing and went way above and beyond for our stay. We arrived earlier then check in and Catherine was not only able to accommodate us, but also ran us into town for our gin tour. The cabin, is stunning! With an nespresso machine, juices and milk in the fridge, fresh fruit, toiletries, hair dryer...just everything! The shower was excellent and the bed, oh my goodness... one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. Plenty of parking for my larger car, calming and plentiful grounds...and OH MY GOODNESS..... the breakfast was the best...THE BEST I have ever ever experienced! I cannot wait to stay again, I left so so happy, relaxed and well fed! Thank you Catherine for an exceptional stay!

Get cosy on the leather sofa in front of a wood-burning stove in this stylish conversion of a traditional barn in the woodlands of Surrey Hills. With beams overhead, a dining room and open-plan kitchen, this versatile space is a slice of rural idyll.
Ancient timbers, beautiful brickwork, a vaulted ceiling, old Persian rugs on a stone floor , comfy leather sofas in front of the log-burning stove – just some of the charms awaiting you in the Barn at Logmore. It’s a big, versatile space - a dining room, a library, a snooker room, and sitting room all in one. The compact open plan kitchen is fully equipped. And each of the three beautifully furnished bedrooms, (one downstairs, two upstairs) has its own private bathroom or shower-room. But that’s just the beginning of the Barn experience. Walk outside to find our medieval farmhouse, built in 1464, and you’ll discover you are surrounded by farmland and the amazing woodlands of the Surrey Hills. With nothing other than horseriders, walkers and the odd cyclist passing by, Logmore is a rural escape where you’ll meet a host of wildlife, from our very own doves and bees, to badgers, ducks and deer, and even a family of enormous carp in our pond. It’s a different world, a rural idyll, yet so close to Westcott village and busy Dorking town.
With no traffic other than horse riders, walkers, and the odd cyclist passing by, you’ll meet a host of wildlife and be surrounded by beautiful meadows, woodlands, and ancient villages to explore.
  • Lovely accommodation in a really lovely location! It felt so homely and the log burner was so nice to have. The pool table was also very popular! Good walks in the surrounding area too.

  • Thanks for having us for a great weekend away. We really appreciated the roaring fire when we arrived.

    Sonia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely and relaxing weekend stay. Richard and Gay were wonderful hosts: very kind, friendly and thoughtful. The converted barn was warm and cosy, tastefully decorated and spotless. The kitchen is kitted out with useful utensils and the beds were very comfortable too. The local area is beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely walk thanks to Richard and Gay’s recommendations. The nearby pub The Plough serves excellent food.

  • the host were the nicest people we've ever rented a home from. they were nice enough to give us a tour thru there home which was built in the sixteen hundreds. i recommend staying on this property

    Kenneth2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic stay - the barn is full of character and very comfortable, it was cold during our stay but the barn was very cozy and the wood burner topped off a great atmosphere. The setting is heart stopping beautiful - looking out the windows to the horses on the field, ducks in the garden pond. Location was close to Dorking - which has everything you need - with lots to see in the surrey hills. Finally, the hosts Richard and Gaye, were wonderful - very welcoming, responded immediately to a small request we had, and made us feel like home. We loved it and have 2 return trips booked for spring and summer next year.

This converted stable offers self-contained, centrally heated accommodation in a quiet village only 3 miles from Guildford. Surrounded by endless beautiful walks and historical places, yet London’s convenient “Waterloo” railway station is only 40 minutes from Guildford’s main-line station. Sorry, no pets and no smoking
Our aim is to make you welcome and to make your stay at the converted stable a pleasure, and satisfy your expectations. Up until 1989 the building was being used as a stable, and because the conversion sought to maintain the building’s original character, access is more limited than that of a purpose built accommodation. We ask you not to smoke in the building. The grassed area of the garden is shared with Juniper Cottage (including our large but very friendly black Labrador). Mobile phone signals are generally good. WiFi connection to BT Infinity 2 super fast fibre broadband is available and free. TRANSPORT There is a bus stop at the end of the road with three buses an hour to and from Guildford. From Guildford there is an excellent fast service to London Waterloo station (40 mins) and Portsmouth in the opposite direction. The village with two food stores and two pubs is 6-8 minutes walk and there are large supermarkets at Guildford and Godalming. PARKING There is no off-street parking but Eastwood road is a quiet cul-de-sac and there is mostly easy parking adjacent to Juniper Cottage. Finally, If you do not like quietness, apart from the occasional hoot of an owl at night, this is probably not the place for you!
Bramley, Surrey From Wikipedia, Population 3,559 (Civil Parish) District Waverley Shire county Surrey Postcode district GU5 Tel. dialling code 01483 Bramley is a village and civil parish about three miles (5 km) south of Guildford in the Borough of Waverley in Surrey, south east England. Most of the parish lies in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In its bounds is evidence of the iron age but documents record a village at the end of Anglo Saxon era of the Kingdom of England and track its expansion and division during the Middle Ages. Much of the housing was linear along the Horsham road: many such buildings have survived and the village has a bulky conservation area.
  • Had a great weekend stay at the converted stable. Bob and Jenny were really friendly and welcoming, and the stable was extremely cosy and felt very private. A lovely local pub and some good walks in the surrounding area.

An hour south of London lie the Surrey Hills, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. English countryside at its best for nature-lovers, walkers, cyclists, traditional pub-goers. Set in protected woodlands, on the grounds of The Old Barn, a Tudor barn conversion, the Blue Barn was built as an annex housing garages and a studio apartment, complete with a separate kitchen, laundry and dining area. A one acre meadow is available for picnics, barbecues and outdoor relaxation.
Solid oak floors, cosy and warm. Recently refurbished with hotel grade beds that can be made up as a king or two twins. Sofa bed also available. Full kitchen with boot hall, dining area and laundry.
Extraordinary location set in beautiful forests with views of the South Downs. Excellent foodie pubs nearby. Stunning National Trust properties to visit in the region.
  • Great stay, easy communication, easy check-in and out... very lovely location! Very clean. Property just as advertised. We had a wonderful time! The perfect spot to explore the Surrey Hills! Thank you Anastasia

    Brynn2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay at Anastasia’s place. The layout is unusual with the wooden staircase to the bedroom being outside. But, it has everything you need and the bedroom is more like a studio with plenty of space to sit or work or sleep. The location is amazing as it’s off the beaten track with woodland all around.

    Claire2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia's home sits in wonderful grounds. The room is cosy and warm. Slightly awkward that the kitchen and associated facilities are accessed through the outside of the house. The hot water for the shower was not sufficient for two people to take a longer shower, but all the facilities themselves were great. I would stay here again!

    Sanaa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. Stunning location, very peaceful and access to some lovely walks! Would recommend.

Brand new house, contemporary decor, comfortable and relaxed. Cranleigh is a large village with many amenities (sport, arts, restaurants) set in the rural Surrey Hills - ideally located for walking, yet near to shopping in Guildford, Horsham, Dorking. Only a half hour drive to the south coast - Brighton, Hastings, Worthing - and ideal for National Trust visits. As for me - I can either be invisible or helpful, as you wish! I am a good cook (by arrangement) or you may use the kitchen.
I have a garden and seating area, but as yet not much has been planted (still in the design stage)
Cranleigh is reportedly the largest village in England, nestling in the Surrey Hills and has pretty much everything to entertain you. I love it here...
  • Always a great stay with the delightful Annie. I'm back there again for 3 days the week after next (this coming week was previously booked so couldn't snag it). SteveB

  • Annie’s place was just what I needed for an overnight stay before a job interview in Dunsfold. She was the most welcoming hostess, providing plentiful cups of tea and local information and her cats were super friendly. She also drove me to my job interview which was really helpful and helped calm my nerves. I thoroughly recommend!

Nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills and surrounded by ancient woodland, we have created a really peaceful space, ideal to use as a base to explore the countryside or perhaps as part of a work trip. The accommodation is in an annexe which is detached from the main house so you will have your own privacy with a separate entrance. There is a brand new, super comfy double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and loo. The view from the bed looks out over gardens and the beautiful woods.
There is a brand new bed in the Studio with an ensuite bathroom which includes a shower, loo and basin. There is a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. We will bring your breakfast to you in the morning - you can use the in-room table and chairs or perhaps enjoy it on the private patio when the sun is shining. Guests also have access to WiFi and Netflix. We have a lovely garden and guests and are very welcome to find a quiet spot to relax. Since we are in some of the best mountain biking terrain in the country, we can store mountain bikes securely.
The property is situated in the middle of the Surrey Hills in an exceptional rural location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are in prime walking territory - a footpath leads straight out of the house all the way to the top of Leith Hill which affords some of the finest views in the south of England. Holmbury Hill and Pitch Hill are also close by. Alternatively, take a short stroll through the woods to the millpond at Friday Street where you can enjoy a local gin or beer at The Stephan Langton.
  • What a superb place. Miles was an outstanding host who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We loved all the extra touches like daffodils in the room. Miles offered us so much advice about the area and made so much time to talk with us. Highly recommended, we will be coming back.

    Nosheen2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing time with Miles and Polly. That place was fantastic and had everything we needed. We really appreciated all the personal touches. Miles gave us loads of advice on what to do and where to go and it all worked out perfectly. Such friendly and welcoming hosts.

  • A total break away from the buzz on daily life - this accommodation is tucked away in beautiful woodland with forest views from every window of the studio. We stayed because of it's close proximity to a wedding at Wotton House, and it was a great decision. Miles gave us a warm welcome and made us feel very at home. We'll be back again for some forest walks and to visit some of the pubs in the area. Thanks Miles and Polly!

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Miles and Polly were incredible hosts and the place was perfect for our weekend away. The studio was sparkling clean when we arrived and there were plenty of tips/ helpful recommendations for walking trails, pubs, and things to do in the area. They were such a nice family who made us feel at home on their grounds while still offering us the perfect amount of privacy in the studio. Would highly recommend and hope to come back one day!

    Jillian2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Miles was the perfect host. Really friendly and helpful. The space was great, very clean and quiet location. Great pub for food just down the road. Lovely.

  • Miles and Polly's home is the perfect countryside escape for anyone looking to relax and breathe in some fresh air. Super comfortable bed, pristine room, yummy breakfast, and incredible hosts! Miles greeted us and was so helpful in showing us around, giving us ideas for places to go for lunch / dinner, and even helped us plan the rest of our weekend. He was readily available if we needed any help, but we also really enjoyed the perfect privacy of our little studio. The ideal balance! The surrounding area is full of great walks through woods and fields -- we highly recommend taking a nighttime stroll through the forest to the pub for a pint!

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Surrey Hills. Near J9 of M25. Gatwick Airport is 21 mins by train into Dorking (Deepdene) railway station. Denbies Vineyard is near by. Area well known for cyclists. Comfortable and quiet surroundings. Relax for that important business meeting, or use as base for holiday or rejuvenating weekend in the countryside. There is a pub in the village.
Views of Surrey Hills, quiet road in cul-de-sac. Easy free parking. There is a single room downstairs and a double room upstairs, both with en-suites. The village is rural, but within reach of facilities in nearby Dorking (1.5 miles). No pets are on the premises, but being in a rural area you will encounter dog-walkers. Many of my visitors are doing the Pilgrim's Walk from Winchester to Canterbury. There are also several wedding venues nearby, notably Denbies Vineyard.
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by land belonging to National Trust or Surrey Wildlife Trust. Near to Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre. The market town of Dorking is renowned for antique shops. There is one pub in the village, The Stepping Stones, and two pubs, The Running Horses and King William IV in the next village (Mickleham). There is also a café and restaurant at Denbies Vineyard.
  • Perfect place to stay for a weekend in and around Dorking.

Situated in West Horsley, in the midst of the Surrey Hills. With walks directly on your door step, this is in the perfect position for walks in just about every direction. In the grounds of a large family home with parking in front garden and seating areas. It's the perfect stop for anyone wanting a tranquil stop over or some time away from the hustle and bustle.
Cobham & Guildford are closeby, within 3-4 miles away. With nice village restaurants, bigger restaurant chains, swimming, ice skating and cinemas. Guildford shopping is good. Most locals tend to dine in the great local pubs, restaurants in West Horsley Village and in Cobham Village.Shere Village and many more
There is only a handful of neighbours nearby. Most of them live within the small Hamlet that you drive through to get here.

  • This modern lodge located in a tranquil Surrey countryside providing a perfect escape from busy city life was just what we needed. The lodge was clean, spacious and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Central heating heats up the lodge extremely fast in colder days. Internet was good enough for us (Netflix worked okay) but may be slow for someone expecting city-like speeds. The surrounding area provides impressive scenery and hours of walks through local forestry. Beside horses for which the place is known for, we encounter deer less than 100 meters from the lodge and seen plenty of squirrels on our daily walks. Elaine was always available if needed yet respectful to our privacy. She went far beyond any expectation, ensuring our pleasant stay. Her knowledge of all the walking paths and beautiful places around Surrey ensure our daily walks were truly blissful. We truly enjoyed our stay, and we recommend this place to anyone seeking an escape to nature.

Lovely cottage, perfect for cyclists or groups exploring the Surrey Hills. In between Peaslake and Holmbury St Mary. Secure space for bikes and very close to the viewpoint and Hurtwood House school. The Hurtwood Inn in Peaslake for exceptional Italian food - opposite Pedal & Spoke bike hire. Picturesque Shere close by. Please be aware that this is mine and my children’s home and whilst space will be made in every bedroom for you to hang clothes etc, our belongings will also be stored there too.
The cottage has 2 wood burners and an aga, though the latter is switched off in summer. There is a normal oven as well. All appliances are Gagganau. 2 fridges, dishwasher , microwave, washing machine. The garden is on three levels with a small courtyard leading up to a small lawn which then leads up to a decked terrace and summer house. 3 double bedrooms and a single. Main bedroom is up a spiral staircase at the top of the house. Bathroom on middle floor, shower room on ground floor.

Cosy, two bedroomed 'cottage' sympathetically converted from farm buildings. Comfortably furnished but retaining character with rustic beams. Direct access from the main farm courtyard, which is set off a quiet country road in the middle of this leafy surrey village. Good walks from our back gate and good pubs with waling distance.

The flat was perfect for our stay, the setting was woodlands and quiet and the children played on their bikes and visited the local park. We were attending a christening in Ewhurst and I would most definitely stay there again. Gaynor is a super host.

  • Carol’s home is full of character and in a magnificent location. My bedroom was clean , comfortable and quiet. I was on a yoga training weekend , so I also appreciated the plentiful hot water (as I made use of the bath tub) and the super comfy bed with lovely linen.

  • Lovely period property in super convenient location right across the road from the train station. Holly was very friendly and welcoming.

    David2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Context - solo traveller seeking break from the city and time outdoors. Hollys cottage is an idyllic home away from home. There’s a spacious garden, and inside plenty of history, colourful decor and antiques to satisfy any history and art/ antiques lovers. There’s a thick blanket and electric heater in the living room perfect for cosy, quiet nights in. If you feel the cold, bring extra layers, however there’s plenty of extra bedding for toasty, restful nights’ sleep. The location is very convenient, facing the train station. There are plenty of walks, at the doorstep in all directions and plenty of maps to use whilst there. Plenty of well-marked walks for solo travellers. Holly was a warm and friendly host committed to making you feel at home and comfortable. She provided helpful advice and tips for planning walks and even lent a pair of waterproof socks when my trainers reached the end of their days. She was very accommodating with check in and check out times which helped make the most of the trip. I highly recommend staying at Catbells and look forward to coming again!

    Jayanti2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Holly is very friendly and helpful. Holly’s place is clean and cosy. It’s an ideal location for walking and has very easy access to the rail network.

    Simon2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • I came to Holly’s to take a break from London and get some time exploring the local walks. She is an avid walker herself and an absolute expert on the area. She gave me loads of great suggestions and took the time to show me the maps and point me in the right direction. When you stay here you get your own bedroom plus your own sitting room + TV to rest and relax at night. The place is literally across the street from the train station and it couldn’t be more convenient. My top tip for staying here is pick up groceries on your way to the place. There is a fun pub in nearby but little in the way of convenience shops or local grocers. Holly does make fantastic jam though and I probably helped myself to a little bit too much of it:)

  • I spend on average around 150 nights a year in hotels, let’s just say I speak the truth backed with experience. Louise is an amazing host, her house is sensational, and what a location.!! We stayed for just over 5 weeks in Dormer Veen, we could easily cook fantastic meals and enjoy the space we had, which was shared between two work colleagues. No local hotel from the Marriot or Hilton comes close “I’m the highest members of both” for 5 years running.!! Very safe location, easy parking at the house, great for surrounding areas and access to central London. I would highly recommend this place to stay, very clean, very comfy beds, with all the amenities like home from home.. Thank you for your amazing hospitality.!

    Wesley2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Louise is hands down the BEST long-term host that we could have EVER asked for. Her communication and hospitality are unmatched! She thinks of EVERYTHING to make the experience in her listing a memorable one. The listing itself was incredible! The location, the cleanliness and the amenities made us want for very little. Louise went above and beyond for any questions or requests about the listing and the beautiful Surrey Hills area. We would 100% recommend this listing and would absolutely book this location again.

    Steven2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic retreat, very quiet and relaxing.

    James2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dear all, We have stayed a full week in the garden house of Louise and in one word it was a wonderful holiday. The large, fully equipped, private, apartment gave direct access to an amazing garden. A bakery is only a 5 minutes walk over a public footpath, Dorking itself only 15 minutes by bicycle over a very smooth cycling path without any traffic. The house is surrounded by miles of walking and cycling tracks. Good maps were available in the apartment. And in addition to all these qualities, the hostess Louise prepared us a very warm welcome, Hope to come back, Tineke

    Tineke2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • I felt at home the moment I arrived such lovely surroundings ! The flat was so well equipped I love to cook and really enjoyed the kitchen .The bed was by far the most comfortable of my travels so far , only wish I could have stayed longer .

    Georgette2019-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Louise made us totally welcome from the first moment. We arrived late and she had made sure the place was warm with a welcoming light on and the surprise of the most delicious fruit cake sitting on the kitchen table. The Garden Flat was exactly as we expected with a great view to the lake. it was very comfortable with a lovely gas effect log burner and a brilliantly equipped kitchen...plus dry storage for me bike. Highly recommended.

Our Shepherd's hut is situated within 40 acres of woodland, orchard and garden in an area of Outstanding Beauty set high with stunning views of the Surrey Hills. Glorious sunsets and an abundance of bird life are often seen from the hut and within the Kilnhanger estate. Although remote the hut is positioned close to our cottage for security - privacy is still available and you may park your vehicle adjacent to the hut Our hut is not only cool in the summer but cosy in the winter
Shepherds Hut contains kitchennete with a fridge and two electric hobs for cooking (no oven), shower, towel rail, toilet and double bed with electric radiator to provide warmth on those cold days !
Unique views of Surrey Hills, pastures and woodland - abundance of wildlife Pretty villages often used for filming National Trust properties and RHS Wisley all within reasonable driving distance Fantastic country pubs and restaurants but tables require booking so please let us know so we can suggest various venues
  • Had a great weekend here. Gorgeous place to stay. Comfy bed, warm and cosy space. Great shower! Susan baked me vegan cookies too. Deer and pheasant views in the forest galore 😍Would definitely recommend 😘

    Teresa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's Shepherd hut was a great break away from the busy city life, set in a great location on her families land. A 10 minute drive from Shere (where "the holiday" was filmed), where there were great places to eat and drink. There are a lot of great walking and hiking trails In this area ! Would recommend everyone to stay here!

  • We booked the hut for New Year’s Eve and were really impressed by the level of hospitality from Susan and Richard and by the quaint surroundings. Ideal for trips all year round. Would recommend a car unless you don’t mind a bit of a walk- around 30/40 minutes to the nearest village from which you can take a bus/taxi. Thanks again

  • A beautiful relaxing place to stay whilst visiting friends and exploring the area.We had a lovely weekend , Thankyou!

  • Had a lovely stay in the Shepherds hut. The space was well appointed, clean, very warm and cosy. Sue was very accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed for breakfast. We also had great recommendations from Sue regarding local walks, pubs, and places to eat, all of which added greatly to our stay. The design of the space allows for a flexible seating area which was really useful for cooking meals in the hut, as well as relaxing in the evening. We would definitely recommend staying here, as we had a really special weekend, away from the noise and stress of working life. Thanks Sue!

    Anna2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was a very kind and welcoming host, and the cabin was extremely comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, and immaculately clean. It was a perfect base from which to explore the natural beauty of the Surrey Hills. Warmly recommended.

    Lucy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent spacious hut with many more amenities than the average hut - it certainly has luxury feel to it! Would recommend this to anyone looking for an escape to the countryside with a twist. Gorgeous setting and a very comfortable and spacious bed (large enough for my 6ft 1 partner!) which converts into the perfect dining table in no time. A wonderful use of space and the views are incredible. Susan is also a wonderful host and offers an extensive breakfast which will tide you over till dinner time! :) U will not regret staying here!

Beautifully decorated guest room in the large garden of a home in Peaslake. Close to the Hurtwood and in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Very quiet and peaceful. Fantastic walking and biking from the door. An in-room breakfast of cereals, juice and tea/coffee is provided, as are towels, soap and shampoo. There aren't cooking facilities, but there is a good choice of wonderful pubs nearby - one a 15 min walk, the others a short drive - offering food. Easy access via code lock.

A private and very comfortable space in an idyllic location. Once here you don’t need a car as this famously pretty village has a variety of small shops including a very good mini-supermarket, an award-winning cafe, a pub and an excellent restaurant. From the house you can walk straight out into wonderful countryside and as Shere was on the route of the 2012 Olympic Games cycling road race, it’s also great for cyclists. Places of interest include Grange Park Opera which is 10 minutes drive away
This is a very comfortable apartment in a traditional country house. The apartment offers the space to relax and unwind in light and airy surroundings.
Shere is a charming village which, combined with its convenient access, makes it an ideal location for a holiday break. These factors also mean that it is popular as a setting for film locations including "The Holiday" which used our driveway and grounds in the film. Situated on the North Downs in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are fortunate to have a variety of good walks direct from the house. Shere is on the National Cycle Network and cyclists are welcome to use our secure storage for two bicycles. National Trust Houses within a short drive include Hatchlands Park, Polesdon Lacey, Leith Hill Tower and the recently opened Leith Hill Place (former home of Ralph Vaughan Williams and where he composed The Lark Ascending). Clandon was tragically gutted by fire in 2015 but is occasionally open to view progress with the salvage operation and future rebuilding plans. West Horsley Place is the new venue for Grange Park Opera and is a 10 minute drive away. Silent Pool Gin distillery and Albury Organic Vineyard are about 20 mins walk (3 mins drive). Tours have to be booked ahead. The Astro turf tennis court is available on request. The village offers a variety of places to eat including a cafe, a pub and an excellent restaurant (requires booking). The village shop has a good range of food for those who prefer to cater for themselves.
  • A great place for a weekend away.

    Simon2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment! Spacious, warm and super comfortable. Location of the apartment is ideal, being 5 minutes walk to the main street in Shere and in the middle of the countryside, near to some lovely footpaths for quick or long walks. Jenny was extremely quick in getting back to our request the day of the booking - within an hour of our original request, when we were looking to stay that night! And communication was easy and frequent throughout our stay, especially when we decided to stay an extra night because we were enjoying it so much! The breakfast box, as other reviewers have mentioned, was a lovely touch. Spotlessly clean too, our stay couldn't be faulted. Thanks Jenny!

    Mehnaz2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, very rural yet just a few minutes' delightful stroll into the lovely Shere village. The apartment is warm and comfortable, clean and thoughtfully presented. Generous breakfast box provided, and Jenny was very helpful. Beautiful walks from the door - we enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing break.

    Katy2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, traditionally furnished apartment in a lovely, old house. It's spacious, private and quiet. The breakfast provision is an unusually high standard - generous, lots of choice and healthy options eg organic sugar-free muesli, fresh fruit, wholemeal bread. The village itself is lovely too with two outstanding eateries - The William Bray gastropub and Kinghams restaurant. There are also some interesting shops and nice cafes. It's an ideal spot for a Silent Pool distillery tour - an easy, attractive 20 min walk and you're there.

    Brian2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in this great location in the AONB Surrey Hills was fabulous! Shere is so pretty - a quintessentially English village, and steeped in history. The Old Rectory is in a very tranquil setting, perfect for resting up and using as a base for walking, cycling and dining at the many really good pubs in the vicinity but close enough to Guildford and London if you're looking for a bit of city life too. The welcome pack Jenny left out for me on arrival was extremely generous, and she and her family couldn't have been more approachable, helpful and friendly during my stay. Can't recommend highly enough.

We offer for rent a comfortable, self catering, character cabin on Leith Hill, in the heart of the Surrey Hills. We welcome cyclists, walkers, bird watchers, or anyone who wishes to retreat here to enjoy our quiet and beautiful surroundings.
The cabin used to be the grooms quarters and is integral within the old stable block which has all the traditional features from 1911. It is a space full of character and charm and provides a Queens size double bed plus a 6’ sofa that pulls out to provide two single beds. The beds are all in the same sleeping area and although it is pretty cosy with four adults staying, guests are more often out and about so this hasn’t been a big issue when value and location has been more important. There is a muddy shoe wash sink outside, washing machine and airer inside. For cyclists, we have a dedicated bike rack inside the secure stable. There is plenty of parking in our courtyard for our guests.
Our cabin is four miles from Dorking and six miles from Guildford. On foot, we have 2/3 pubs which serve food within 15-20’ walk.
  • I satyed for a few days while working remotely - everything was good and it's great to just be able to go out and walk in any direction. Rob - the host - really goes out of his way to help. Highly recommended.

  • Karen’s clockhouse is the perfect escape for a weekend! I only stayed one night but will highly recommend it to anyone who needs some peace and quiet. I came in on a Sunday, when no buses were running and Karen kindly picked me up from a nearby train stop! The space is exactly as the photos depict, and was sparkling clean, with Netflix and WiFi to boot if you need any distractions. She kindly offers a variety of food items which is convenient because the nearest store/pub is a bit of a walk away. Overall it was a wonderful stay- would definitely come back!

  • It’s an interesting cabin design. Kind of like a mini duplex apartment. We really liked it. The area is nice with lots of nature places to walk around. Wish we had more time there

  • The house is a perfect example of how houses on AirBNB should be: good accuracy, easy entry, easy check-in, perfect host, very good location, affordable, quiet area and big house with plenty of space. The house on itself is quite good due to the high standards that the host wanted to have in there. And the location is perfect for a little walk anywhere in the town centre. Antonio, the host, is very helpful and will try to help you as much as it is possible. I honestly cannot say anything negative about the house. Which is quite good per se. I recommend 100% this room as for a very good relation quality-price. You can even leave your car in front of the house, off road. Antonio, chapeau.

  • Antonio is very nice and friendly guy. A lot of recommendation!

Warm and newly refurbished holiday let with excellent facilities, set in the Surrey Hills and near to Leith Hill. Perfect base for hiking. biking, riding or just to get away. Open plan area with kitchen, table and chairs, small settee ladder to mezzanine level with sofa (sofa bed) and chair. Good size bedroom with queen size bed, some drawers and hanging space. Modern bathroom with shower. Ample parking. Good local pub within walking distance and several others a short drive away.
As we have our own horses at the property any dogs visiting would have to be on a lead when outside. We could have the facility for visitors to bring their own horses but this would have to be by separate negotiation.
Forest Green is a small village and a perfect base to explore Surrey Hills Area - walking, cycling or riding. Our local pub, The Parrot is within walking distance and there are many other good places to eat in the area. We have a local Farm Shop which has an excellent range of fresh meat, vegetables and cheese plus necessities, such as bread and milk and other gooodies to temp you. We are a short distance by car to Dorking, Horsham, Guildford, Gatwick and M25. Good rail links to London from Dorking Station. As we are fairly central to the above towns the property could well be suitable for those wanting a base when working in the area during the week or on training courses.
  • A very cosy cabin in beautiful countryside and with everything you would need for a relaxing stay.

    Age2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

  • Hunters Lodge is a lovely stand alone building at the bottom of the owners driveway. Marion is very welcoming and communicated well prior to our arrival. The house is cozy and well kept, with excellent facilities including breakfast provisions. It was easy to find and well located for exploring the Surrey Hills. The local area is lovely.

  • Such friendly hosts in a lovely location.

    Alistair2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay at Hunter’s Lodge. Very cosy and private, with great warm shower and lovely amenities. Now with Wi-fi, which makes a difference as phone reception not so good. It is nice to be near the horses in their stables and enjoy a lovely rural setting. I would definitely return. Marion was lovely too. She left me to it, but was super responsive if required and was very kind to change the linen. Many, many thanks,

    Oliver2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location near beautiful countryside. We were made to feel very welcome with extra touches like milk in fridge and bread on side. Everything very clean.

Dorking is a historic market town set in the heart of the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to Box Hill, Leith Hill, Ranmore, Denbies Wine Estate, Surrey Hills Brewery and much, much more. Particularly since 2012, when it was on the route of the Olympics cycle race, Dorking has become a magnet for cyclists that want to take on the hills and enjoy the landscape. It is also extremely popular with walkers for the same reasons. The town itself has a rich variety of pubs and restaurants, as well as many independent shops. West Street is particularly popular for its antique shops. There are countless walks on our doorstep or just a short drive away and we've provided a selection of routes in the apartment.
  • Lovely apartment in a great location. The apartment is a short walk away from Dorking town centre. We stayed in the apartment for 1 week and it was our 3rd Airbnb that we stayed in while we had to move out of our house for home improvement work and the nicest of all. Having a separate bedroom made the stay much more comfortable and access to Netflix was a nice touch. Ideal for a short stay. If you wish to stay for a longer time please bear in mind that there is no oven or hob and no washing machine in the apartment, although the host allowed us to bring our own portable hotplate which was really appreciated.

  • A beutiful and clean apartment and a perfect base for exploring the Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lots of walks in a beautiful landscape and interesting places to see, can really recommend Paul and Sarah.

    Björn2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment on quiet road close to the city center and Surrey Hills. I was happy to find breakfast provided along with TV streaming. Facilities are great and up to date and Paul and Sarah are great hosts!

    Andreas2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very comfortable, good heating, good bedding, TV with Netflix ... And also some appreciable attentions like fruits, bread and jams for breakfast. I had a good time with Paul and Sarah

    Guillaume2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here to visit family in the area and it was once again a fabulous one! Spotless, exceptionally well equipped and appointed, it's an ideal base. We loved being bbc able to watch a film on Netflix one night. This time we followed some of the recommendations in the information folder and had a curry and a pint locally - brilliant! The apartment really is conveniently placed. We'll definitely be staying again.

    Sue2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • From the minute we booked to the minute we checked out everything about our stay was perfect. The apartment is clean, in an excellent location and Paul and Sarah are so thoughtful with their personal touches and ease of communication. They truly go above and beyond to make the time in their apartment comfortable.

    Patti2020-01-12T00:00:00Z

This single room is in a family home. It is 5 minutes walk from two railway stations and 10 minutes walk from the town centre. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs; a cinema/theatre and sports centre. Quiet location with off-road parking. WiFi.
A great place if you need to be in Dorking for work, leisure or an event. We are close to cycling and walking routes in the Surrey Hills. Your single room is private and upstairs. There is a separate bathroom and toilet upstairs and another toilet downstairs. You can have tea and coffee anytime. I will show you where things are.
It is quiet and private. A nice private road, at the end of a cul-de-sac. There is off road parking for 3 cars.
  • It's a perfect accomodation in Dorking.

    Adrienn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great place to stay. "Location, location location" as estate agents say: Perfect location for every facility and convenience on the doorstep. Only a very short walk from not just one, but 2 railway stations! A variety of buses and a taxi rank at the slightly closer of the two, too. I also found a "convenience store" with good, reasonably priced hot snacks (within a petrol station) just a block away from the end of the road (corner of A24 / London Rd), also just a few minutes walk away. And Dorking town centre not very much further, either! And to top it all a great hostess in a clean and vibrant family home. Miranda's communication was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Miranda was quick with a very wel cuppa on my arrival, great attention to detail, helpful with everything I needed: nothing was too much trouble. Miranda is also very interesting to talk to; I was only there for a short, one-night stay, and only had time for an equally brief "natter" but I certainly got the impression she "knows her stuff", certainly where art is concerned at least. My own very meagre knowledge of art doesn't qualify me to judge, but her passion was clear and self evident.

    Michael2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed at Miranda’s many times. She is always very welcoming and the breakfast is lovely

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • Amanda was very kind , she offered me a hot caffe with milk when a arrived. The room is clean and comfortable.

    Ayelen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Miranda is a super host and very nice person.I stayed there for a month. You feel like home and you can spend some time with a very lovely and friendly cat as well. Two train stations, bus lines and Tesco express are very close to this place. You can enjoy a variety of cereal at Breakfast. If you have plenty of time you can visit Surrey hills . I recommend this place for long and short stays.

Thoughtful touches with the information about local restaurants and things to do, breakfast at the Snooty Fox was excellent. Highly recommend a stay here.
