Places to stay in Long Crendon
Bed and breakfast in downstairs accommodation with your own entrance to a single bedroom and private, large, brand new shower room. Wifi included. Situated in a beautiful village with local shops and amenities, 1 mile from Thame, Oxfordshire, 15 minutes from M40 to London and 7 minutes from mainline British Rail station at Haddenham.
A comfortable single bedroom for one with daybed and ample storage space, free Wi-Fi, overlooking pretty garden. Private bathroom is a large wet room with shower, basin and wc and you own back door entrance.
I love living in Long Crendon and you will love this area. It is ideal for getting to so many great places. The village is picturesque and not too small, so lots of amenities, with plenty of places to eat; 2 great pubs, 3 restaurants/take-aways and small shops. There's also a library, hairdressers, mechanics, park, tennis courts, 2 churches and community centre. It's quite rural round here and so lovely walking from the village or head towards the Chiltern Hills for extended walks. My house is situated on the corner of a quiet road, lined with large sycamore trees, only a short walk to the shops and local amenities. It's a lovely place to be with friendly and helpful neighbours.

  • Davina is an excellent and very welcoming host who does everything she can to make you feel at home. Her beautiful home is luxurious and just out the main town centre which was perfect for me travelling to a course nearby. I would be very happy to stay here again and an added benefit is having a chat over breakfast with Davina - you don't have to do that but I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I'd much rather stay here than a hotel :)

    Lynne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Recommend Davina's place 100%. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Davina thinks of everything. Great location too. Genuinely lovely lady.

  • The accommodation is clean, modern and spacious. Ideally situated as near to amenities and bus. Davina has thought of everything and nothing is too much trouble.

  • Davina is an amazing host. Have stayed with her many times now

    Vicki2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Davina was incredibly welcoming, generous and accommodating. She was so lovely and flexible about my comings and goings, especially as I had to dash out when I first arrived and I got back late in the evening. She provided lots of breakfast and snacks, and was lovely to chat to. The room was completely spotless, had everything you needed, and lots of thoughtful touches (so many toiletries!). I would have liked to have stayed longer and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Charlotte2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Not the first time I stayed at Davina's place. I received the same kindness and immaculately clean place to stay as always.

    Zoltan2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great stay at Davina's.

Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. A perfect location for visiting Oxford, day trips to London or a cosy bed for the night if attending a wedding at Notley Abbey, or just simply enjoying the air and space that the country has to offer!
The Stable offers a generous open plan living area and a separate bathroom with sauna and power shower. The whole apartment is kept super cosy in the winter with underfloor heating - you won’t need that for the summer months as you will have the french doors wide open onto the sun trap courtyard - if you time your stay well you might be able to pick your own peaches we had 62 in 2019! The property is located within the grounds of our house and is totally private and not overlooked.
Located between Haddenham and Thame, The Stable is a self contained studio apartment with separate access, generous private parking and its own beautiful south facing courtyard, with stunning views over the Chilterns. It is perfect for business travellers or for a cheeky grown up getaway - Thame, with its many pubs, restaurants and independent shops is just down the road and gorgeous, historic Oxford under half an hour away on the train. In addition, the ever popular Notley Abbey, wedding venue is only 1.4 miles away, so our stable is a super convenient place to get your party frocks on beforehand and indeed post party, to rest your dancing legs, with only a 2 minute taxi home!
  • A really lovely place. Great terrace with a lovely view across the countryside. The sauna was a real treat after a long day!

    Francesca2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful find, great location close enough to rail links and town, but far enough away that you feel you are very much away from everything. The sauna was a fabulous and surprising extra, the room was big, airy and extremely comfortable. Definitely excellent value for money and highly recommended.

    Kevin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend. I knew from previous reviews that I would not be disappointed. Julia's accommodation delivered everything it promised as well as a comfortable bed, quiet surroundings and a great space. Nothing needs to be improved or changed. I was on business for 2 days and I looked forwards to leaving my work surroundings and retreating to this little gem.

    Steve2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Lovely house, very clean and stylish! We felt like home there! Thank you very much!

  • Spent two nights staying at the stable and we enjoyed our time. Location is really beautiful and it was lovely to see sheep in the morning grazing on the other side of the main garden. Stayed with my wife and two young children and we had no issues; room is comfortable with a big king size bed and comfortable sofa. Would recommend this location! Thanks for having us again Julia, maybe next time we could meet the animals. :)

    James2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a weekend getaway to the countryside and had a fantastic time. The Stable was a lovely place to stay and Julia was an amazing host, offering plenty of advice about walks in the Chilterns and local pubs and coffee shops. The highlight of our trip was the sauna but the rest of the property and the location is fabulous!

    Sneha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A super cozy space and so incredibly unique. The personal touches were clear and the sauna was a delight. Julia gave us a lot of suggestions about places to go but because the weather was so bad we couldn’t really explore however her home was so comfortable we didn’t mind staying in. Thank you so much for having us !

    Melanie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z

  • Amazing place to stay for work or leisure. The rooms have recently been converted and in excellent condition. Amenities are a really nice touch. The living area and bedroom are both extremely comfortable and free of any noise. The bathroom is new and modern with a fantastic shower. The location is ideal, only a 2min walk from Thame High street, and there is a walking trial around the corner into a green belt area. I would definitely stay again in the future, as this is the best AirB&B I’ve ever stayed at for location, price and quality. Joe

  • The accommodation was first class and hosts extremely welcoming, we would highly recommend staying at Marigold and Joel’s. With a separate bedroom, living area with sofa and TV, plus en-suite bathroom, the accommodation is spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Easy parking on driveway. Extra facilities such as wifi, Netflix and kettle/tea/biscuits were also provided. We highly recommend and hope to return!

  • The host decorated the room very warmly, and the host also personally greeted the room and introduced them one by one. It was very clean, comfortable, and the house was private, quiet, and beautiful. highly recommended

  • A fantastic stay in a lovely home. It had everything we needed and the breakfast was an unexpected surprise and very welcome. Perfect!

    Jamie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Lottie's home for 3 nights. It was a first for us as, even though we have used Air BnB many times, we have only previously made bookings for hiring a whole place. The arrangements Lottie has put in place in terms of private areas and shared areas have been carefully thought through - our stay was lovely and very good value for money. The renovations have been done to a high standard and the house is a lovely space to be in. Breakfast being included is an added bonus. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process. Our only disappointment was only meeting Ted on one evening - everything else was great!

    Kerry2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a lovely house

    Rebecca2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We were greeted very warmly by Marion the house manager who had prepared the house earlier than check in time for us to drop our bags off and do a quick change to go to lunch at Le Manoir aux quatre Saisons in nearby Great Milton. The house is very styish with everything you could need, even breakfast is provided. A lovely touch. The wet room bathroom and en-suite were lovely, sadly the shower had leaked the night before so the en suite shower was off limits, but the main bathroom shower was lovely. The house has been beautifully renovated and is delightfully comfortable.

  • Georgina offered a clean and beautifully decorated room and private bathroom on the top floor of her lovely family home. It had everything I needed for a comfortable stay including tea, coffee, biscuits, cereal, milk and juice in the room with a fridge, a kettle and mugs bowls and cutlery as well. Check-in was easy and flexible (I picked up the key from a neighbour) and she was also happy to let me check-out a little late to fit in with my lift to Towersey. A little tip if you are using google maps to find Georgina's place: use the street address rather than the postcode as it's a new build and google gets very confused! All in all a brilliant stay and I would love to stay again.

  • Lesley is a very friendly host and special touches like 'love hearts' left in the room for our anniversary was lovely and thoughtful. Teas, coffees and snack bars in the room was also a nice touch. Bed super soft and shower room en suite was nice, lovely warm shower. Great location - Thame is a nice little town and also good for visiting Oxford.

    Lynsey2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom is small, but beautifully warm and comfortable with everything provided for a lovely stay. There were great quality towels and bedding, plentiful tea and coffee, and Lesley also left a bowl of fruit and snack bars for us. The room and en-suite bathroom are at the top of the house so self contained and quiet. There’s a wonderful ‘proper’ old fashioned pub just along the road, with great beer - lots of conversation, and great banter! We’d also recommend Woodwork Trading coffee shop which is also close by and serves fantastic coffee and a lovely breakfast. The little museum is also well worth a visit. Thank you Lesley! We had a great weekend in Thame :)

The Coach House was built in the 16th Century It is a separate house but is attached to our house by a thatched archway. The popular series Midsummer Murders is often filmed in Long Crendon and our house and the High Street has appeared in it many times. The Coach House has also been a police station in the series Jeeves and Wooster.
The Coach House is a perfect space for 2 people - the bedroom is on the mezzanine level and the bathroom is downstairs. The bathroom is basic but functional, with a bath and shower. There is a smart television with netflix, catch-up TV and Amazon Prime and a private garden for enjoying a drink on a warm evenings. ABOUT LONG CRENDON Long Crendon has two pubs - the Eight Bells (which is out of the gate, turn right and it’s 2 doors down on the right) and the Churchill arms which is a 5 minute walk away. The Eight Bells serves good pub food and delicious stone baked pizzas which you can eat-in or takeaway. The Churchill Arms is more of a drinking pub although it does serve food. In the village square - turn right out of the gate and it’s a 5mins walk, there is an Indian restaurant, a butcher, a café, a corner shop, an off-licence and a fish and chip shop. There is a cashpoint machine in both the corner shop and the off-licence. There are also 2 hairdressers in the village. Opening in September 2018, a 5mins walk away just by the village square, will be a farm shop, an artisan bakery and a café. Velvet Brown which sells beautiful flower arrangements and gorgeous gifts will also be situated next to the new farm shop and café. Our favorite local restaurant is the Mole and Chicken, which is on the outskirts on the village – lovely views of countryside from the terrace. It is possible to walk there in 15mins although there isn’t a pavement or street lights so if you are walking there in the evening please remember to take a torch. There is a torch in the laundry room for you to use. There are paperback fiction books in the white cupboard in the sitting room for you to read so please help yourself but if you only get halfway through a book and want to take it away with you we’d be grateful if you could leave a book in its place. The High Street is a generally quiet area and therefore the Coach House is not suitable for parties or large gatherings. The Eight Bells Pub does have jazz evenings in the summer months but there is rarely any music after 11pm. We are also 4 miles from Haddenham & Thame Station (London 35 minutes) THAME Thame is our nearest town – a 3mins drive – which has shops, cafes and restaurants. RESTAURANTS There are quite a few restaurants nearby, most require booking on a Saturday night or for Sunday lunch The Angel in Long Crendon The Mole and Chicken in Easington Le Manoir in Great Milton The Pointer in Brill The Hundred in Ashendon The Nut Tree in Murcott The Black Horse in Thame (White Brasserie Pub) CAFES The Flower Pot in Long Crendon Little Italy in Haddenham THINGS TO DO Waddesdon Manor Bicester Village Thame Oxford London (37mins from Haddenham & Thame station) Aylesbury Stowe gardens Haddenham Oxford Weddings at Notley Barn, Notley Abbey & Dorton House
Long Crendon is a delightful village setting. The High Street is a popular tourist attraction because of the many thatched houses and the Court House which is a National Trust property. Long Crendon was voted one of the UK's top 20 villages by The Times.
  • Honestly an excellent host and a fantastic unique place. Clean and everything we needed. The street was so beautiful. Just kept waiting for a horse and carriage to come by . And the pub next door , excellent. And the Churchill, another great pub and excellent Thai food. 100% recommended

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Charlotte provided lots of suggestions for dining all within walking distance (and all terrific!) and when we had trouble with the wifi, Hugh came right over to get it working again. There were lots of thoughtful touches and, of course, it was amazing to stay in such an old, beautiful space. We would definitely stay there again and can recommend the Coach House wholeheartedly.

    Colleen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in the beautiful Coach House! The house and village look just like a movie set, and are cosy and welcoming. Host Charlotte made many thoughtful finishing touches including recommendations for the local area, and was very prompt and helpful in dealing with queries. Thank you!

  • What a gorgeous place! Super comfortable and cosy for a (very wet!) weekend away. Charlotte was a great host and really responsive. The bottle of prosecco was a really lovely touch too (thank you Charlotte!). A great location with lovely walks. The pub next door does great food too, as does the bakery up the road.

  • We have just come back from a fantastic stay at Emma’s place in Thame. We stayed for New Year and the location was great, we went out to the pubs and restaurants and it had a great atmosphere. We also travelled into Oxford and went on some lovey nearby country walks too. Emma’s place was SO clean and smelt amazing because of the candles and room diffusers. It was spotless. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and throughout the whole place. There were lots of thoughtful touches and it was decorated so nicely. The communication was great and check in and out was so easy, you really couldn’t fault it. We had such an enjoyable stay in Thame and we hope to be back soon!

    Fran2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to restaurants and shops. Nice quiet area. House is spotless and cosy. Enjoyed our winter stay.

  • This became a home away from home while I was working in the area. Nice place.

    John2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Emma, although never met in person by us, came across as a warm, hospitable, understanding and very kind person. Communication with Emma prior our visit was wonderfully fast, easy and polite. With all her efforts, Emma made us feel like home and we had to admit, that we would not mind to have such space of out own just to live in. We have been given space and privacy just to enjoy our stay in a very respectful manner. Emma's Cottage became our home for only few days, but it's charming interior, well organised space and EXCEPTIONAL cleanliness of the whole household made us feel sad when we had to leave. The whole Cottage is cosy, beautifully organised, bright and furnished with taste. As both of us care for the environment, we were very happy to see that Emma cares for it, too by having organised space for waste segregation. Thame itself, although not explored as much as we would like to, happened to be a beautiful peaceful little town worth exploring. Neighborhood in which the cottage is situated is also really beautiful and quiet. We loved every second spend in Thame hosted by Emma. Both, with all our hearts, we would recommend Emma's Cottage to anyone who is looking for a nice, well managed, clean and cosy place to stay in while in Oxfordshire. Emma, as a host will definitely make that stay exceptional to anyone who is willing to accept invitation to her beautiful Cottage.

Our stylish Scandi-inspired summer house in the bucolic village of Long Crendon, Bucks is unique to the area. We were thrilled when it recently featured in an interiors magazine. It's perfect for a grown-up getaway, business travellers - or if you're attending a wedding in Bucks/Oxon and need a chic bolthole to sleep off the champagne!
The one-bedroom property is located at the end of our garden but is entirely self-contained and private. Please note: we can't accommodate children unfortunately. Basic breakfast provisions are provided but we recommend you swing by our award-winning café and lifestyle store NORSK, in the neighbouring village of Haddenham. It's less than 10 minutes by car and open seven days a week from 8am on weekdays and 9am on weekends.
Long Crendon is a picture-perfect village, within easy striking distance of Waddesdon Manor, Oxford and its dreaming spires, pretty market town Thame, Raymond Blanc's acclaimed restaurant Le Manoir and the shopper's delight that is Bicester Village designer outlet. If you're a fan of TV crime drama Midsomer Murders, you might like to know that many scenes are filmed in the surrounding towns and villages. And don't miss out on NORSK - I know we would say this but it truly is the best café for miles around! Our coffee is legendary, not to mention the breakfasts, lunches and cakes. Plus we stock all manner of Scandi interiors buys and gifts. Long Crendon itself has a small central square, a fish'n'chip shop, a gastropub and a smattering of shops. Plus there are plenty of walks to enjoy around the surrounding fields. Don't miss the neighbouring hilltop village Brill with its historic windmill atop a hilly common and gorgeous views.
  • Had a lovely stay. Outstanding property :)

  • What a beautiful, stylish and refreshing place to stay for a weekend! The light in the morning and evenings was lovely and the place was full of lovely touches that made you feel warm and welcome. Hope to come back again!

    Olivia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house - very well designed with lots of thoughtful touches! Cathrine and her husband greeted us personally and gave us a quick tour of the place. You should also check out their café, Norsk, just down the road in another village. We enjoyed a delicious brunch there.

  • A beautiful stylish space from which you can explore Oxford and the local area. Would highly recommend, and plan to visit again.

  • What a beautiful little place! It has everything you need; a comfy bed, a great shower, a lovely kitchen and facilities. What more could you want from an Airbnb? Cathrine was really helpful and always responded promptly. The place was sparkling clean and as if it was brand new. Couldn’t recommend this stay more. We’ll be back! Thanks :)

  • Had a lovely weekend away at Catherine’s air bnb, it was a beautiful stylish space and sparking clean, would definitely recommend!!

    Joanna2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Just exquisite. We had a cosy birthday weekend for my partner in Oxford, and Cathrine's cabin was the perfect bolt hole. Impeccably designed and furnished, close enough to spend each day in Oxford itself, and Cathrine's cafe Norsk nearby was an excellent and delicious way to start a relaxed weekend morning. Can't recommend enough. Takk!

Prospect is an 18th Century wychert semi detached cottage located opposite the village green in Chearsley, a small Bucks village with great connections (Oxford - 20 minutes by, London Marylebone - 40 minutes from Haddenham and Thame Parkway Station). Prospect is light and homely, comprising a double bedroom (superking/hypnos), open plan kitchen/diner, lounge, downstairs bathroom, and utility. It's kept extra cosy by two log burners and an Aga in autumn/winter.
Prospect Cottage offers simplicity, warmth, comfort and style. It is lovingly furnished with furniture, tiles, pottery, fabrics and kitchenalia collected over years.
Chearsley is a small village in Buckinghamshire. Neighbouring villages include Cuddington, Nether Winchendon, Ashendon and Long Crendon, the home of the prestigious wedding and event venue, Notley Barn. The Bell PH, a traditional country pub, is situated approximately 64 steps from the front door and serves great pub food and local craft ales. Next door but one, there is a village store stocking all the essentials including fresh bread and pastries. Chearsley also has an active cricket club, a Village Hall offering a variety of exercises classes/events and a medieval church - St. Nicholas Church. The village is surrounded by wonderful countryside walks, picturesque neighbouring villages and market towns. We are probably the nearest accommodation let for guests to Notley Barn in Long Crendon, the wedding and events venue which is just a 5 minute drive from the Cottage. Just slightly further afield you can visit Waddesdon Manor, Oxford, Bleinham Palace, Bicester Village to name just a few!
  • We had a lovely weekend break in this beautiful property - great location, fantastic facilities and wonderful hospitality. The cottage was really comfortable, we especially loved the Aga and the open fire! Had 2 great nights sleep as well, and we loved the rural location. Lots of great extra touches too, much appreciated. We would thoroughly recommend Prospect Cottage and thank Nic and Venetia for their hospitality.

    Andrew2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find! The cottage is everything we could have wished for. We were looking for a cosy weekend getaway and that’s exactly what we found. The wood burning stove and the beef casserole in the aga were unmissable highlights. Thank you Venetia and Nic!

  • Venetia was a wonderful host, very easy to contact and gave some good tips regarding the local area. The house was so warm and snug. Such a treat to have an aga. Ellie2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Prospect Cottage was the ideal place to spend a weekend in the countryside. The cottage was cosy and tastefully decorated and we loved being able to have the wood burner on in the lounge. Venetia was very responsive and welcoming and offered us a lovely meal which was piping hot and ready for us to tuck into straight from the aga when we arrived. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend retreat!

    Megan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect little getaway. Cosy and welcoming, especially with the Aga!

    Eileen2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, the cottage was lovely and everything we needed for a weekend break away. It was in a great location to go into oxford (using park and ride) and close to country walks. Venetia gave us lots of information on good places to eat and checked that we were ok. We would both love to come back.

    Becky2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful and comfortable cottage and we felt privileged to stay here; it is lovingly furnished and spotlessly clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the private back garden with hammock, which was ideal for stargazing. The local country pub is just a few steps away and there are several other good places to eat just a short drive away. Venetia and Nic were friendly and provided very helpful local advice, welcome fresh produce on arrival and good communications for the visit.

Pretty 2-bedroom cosy cottage in quiet, friendly hamlet. Built 1891 and fully restored with modern kitchen, bathroom. Wi-Fi. Parking. Up to 4 people (1 king and 1 double bedroom + sofa-bed). Lovely local pub. Close to Notley Abbey and Barn, Quainton Railway, Waddesdon Manor, Brill , Bicester Village, Oxford. Days out to Blenheim Palace, Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park. Trains from Haddenham to London, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Birmingham. Great local cycling, walks, views and wildlife.
This cottage was home to one family from 1891 to 2015. We have restored their home as sympathetically as possible to reflect the simple farm life they lived and loved. We haven't compromised modern living. There are 2 upstairs bedrooms - one king and one double both with storage and original features. Lounge with sofa-bed. The bathroom (which is upstairs) has a bath with a power shower with large head. The kitchen has an induction hob dishwasher and larder. There is no TV but there is good Wi-Fi and EE 4G coverage and you can request access to our Leisure Room (with 52" TV, Wii, treadmill, pinball, turbo cycle trainer, cross t and limited freezer space). There is a playground and multi-use games area sports facility in the village (1/2 mile). There are fabulous views over the valley and to the Chilterns. The cottage is an integral part of a friendly community, in a terrace of 4 houses (we live next door) and we love visitors!
The Hundred of Ashendon Pub is just half a mile away - it is a great local pub that also serves excellent food (closed Sunday evening and all day Monday). There are some other lovely pubs in the surrounding villages with lovely walking in the area too.

  • Stayed at Lucy's over the weekend. Location was great, I was on foot and relied on public transport, had no problem at all getting there from the rail station (the Sapphire 280 bus was well connected, taxi services around the area were great too). I arrived a bit late at night, was greeted by Lucy and her family members - all wonderful and friendly people. I was upgraded to a double room, which was a pleasant surprise. The room was great, clean, spacious. Same with the bathroom. I definitely left a happy camper!

  • I spent almost a month with Lucy and her son due to an internship in Thame. Over the whole time I felt very well, because Lucy took care of me like A Mother. I could always contact Lucy if I needed anything. On the other hand, she also accepted my privacy. The house is very nice. You notice the people life there every day and that creates a cosy atmosphere. I am very happy to live with Lucy and Alexander. We got along very well and I could always rely on Lucy. So she picked me up from the train at night, so I didn't have to take the bus alone or she helped me to research things etc.. Yesterday, for example, we went shopping and drinking coffee together and spent a nice day together :) Friday's the end of my month. I am reallylooking forward to home but I will also keep this time in good memory. I can therefore only recommend the accommodation to everyone.

The annual popular Thame Food Festival is held in September. Stow on the Wold and Broadway are around an hour's drive away. There are numerous National Trust Properties nearby including the impressive Waddesdon Manor. There is mountain biking in Chiltern Hills (Aston Hill is particularly well known) and lots of walks.

  • Room very quiet in the house of Alison and her husband, very nice, who made a real effort to understand my English more than wobbly. House very clean, room with small bathroom very practical; a little away from the center, but Thame is not very big. If I go back to Thame, I will not go elsewhere.

  • Lovely cottage in a great location at the end of the high street. Easy stroll to the shops and pubs. The Cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything I needed. The area felt very safe (for a lady travelling alone) which is a big bonus for me. The Smart TV was very useful to log into my own Netflix account, and the sofa was very comfy. Lovely touches in the welcome pack which were very yummy!

  • Cutter’s Barn is the perfect spot for a relaxing family retreat. It is cosy, spacious and very well maintained. The hosts are very welcoming and their animals are adorable. We loved the lush green fields (such a stark contrast to our poor burning country at the moment). It’s close enough to Oxford to visit but out of the way to be able to enjoy the country lifestyle. I wish we could have stayed longer than two nights.

    Kate2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to escape to for a few days. Lovely hosts, gorgeous scenery and the best beds you’ve ever slept in. Will be back xxx

Cute, cosy and the perfect mix of characterful and contemporary, this cottage is small but perfectly formed. Inside it’s calm and homely, outside there’s a really sweet little garden where you can sit in the morning sunshine with a cup of coffee, and within a 2 minute walk there are bars, pubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and independent shops. Thame is a gorgeous little market town and you could easily just hang out here but the connections to both Oxford and London are also excellent.
  • Great little cottage, all you need for a lovely stay in the area. Grwat for all of Thame and easy access by bus to Oxford.

  • Town centre cottage perfectly refurbished and equipped for a single person or close couple, near to all shops and amenities. Courtyard garden for morning coffee or evening drinks. The main bathroom is downstairs but with an additional toilet upstairs next to the comfortable double bedroom.

  • Cassie made sure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Cute little cottage with nice modern touches. Cassie always responded to my emails very quickly.

    Rita2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • I could not recommend staying at Cassie’s cottage more! Though the cottage is compact, it’s charming, welcoming, well organized, and more than comfortable. There’s a Waitrose a hop away, and the cottage’s kitchen is well equipped—not the surface tools you find in many AirBnBs. The village has plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy as well. The bus to Oxford comes often so it’s an easy excursion as well. I’d recommend the cottage to couples or solo travelers. Cassie as a host was quick to respond and extremely kind.

    Maryellen2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cassie’s cottage is perfectly located in the middle of Thame for all the shops and restaurants. It is the sweetest little house and although it is compact it is very comfortable and has everything you need. The kitchen was well equipped and there is even a little patio garden area. We found on street parking nearby. Cassie was a great host and we would love to stay there again.

    Kate2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cosy place, right near Waitrose, a gym and the town centre. Cassie was great.

    Julian2019-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • To be honest, after previous places we stayed that we booked through Airbnb, we were not expecting much but we were so pleasantly surprised. The minute you walk in you could smell cleanliness and not musty, stale air. Everything was top notch and it was so nice that we were treated almost like family. The place is very clean, very well equipped with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. Everything was in very good taste and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The place was cosy, very well heated, very hot water, great internet reception, smart tv and a good selection of books. Very central to Thame shops and the bus stop for Oxford Centre and Aylesbury only 200 metres away. I would highly recommend the place. Cassie was very quick at responding to any emails sent. Thank you Cassie for being so good to us and my making our stay so comfortable.

Lovely country house down a quiet lane in a rural setting near Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire. Sleeps 8, underfloor heating throughout, Aga kitchen, large private garden. Enjoy green views, peace and quiet and all creature comforts. 30' to Oxford.
Pinn Cottage is a lovely 4bdr country house down a quiet lane in a rural setting near the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border. Enjoy green views, peace and quiet and creature comforts whilst only 30 minutes away from the centres of Oxford, Bicester or Aylesbury, and from the M40. Set in large private gardens the house has the benefit of underfloor heating throughout, a 4-oven Aga cooker and a wood-burning stove. Downstairs the large kitchen is the focus of the house, with a light and bright dining area built in conservatory style and leading through french doors to outdoor terraces on both sides. Cooking is done on the Aga range, which also has a double ring electric hob on one side. The kitchen is fitted with a large Amari US ice- and water-dispensing fridge, and Miele dishwasher. The utility room houses a washing machine and butler's sink, with a shelved pantry and wine store off it. There is also a spacious separate dining room perfect for more formal gatherings. The dining room and living room sit cosily side by side, in the older 'cottage' part of the house, with a dual aspect wood-burning stove in the fireplace between. Logs are stored at the side of the house. Off the entrance hall is a small study which can provide a quiet bolt-hole to compose e-mails if work calls. Upstairs are four double bedrooms, 2 of which have ensuite shower rooms, while the other 2 share a family bathroom with bath and shower. The master bedroom has a superking size bed, and a walk-through wardrobe area leading to the ensuite with double-basin and walk-in shower; bedroom two has a king size bed and smaller ensuite shower room; bedroom 3 has two single beds, one of which stows under the other when not required; bedroom 4 has a double bed and shares the main bathroom with bedroom 3. There is also a downstairs cloakroom lavatory. On the main terrace there is garden dining furniture, and a barbecue on the smaller terrace. At the top of the garden is a summerhouse and deck with all-weather rattan seating area where you can enjoy far-reaching views over the countryside and many a red sunset. The summerhouse has a power supply, so there is a fridge for drinks, and lights for those late summer evenings. The garden is largely south-facing and well-established sloping up from the house with several sets of steps leading to the top, (hence unsuitable for toddlers or anyone with limited mobility). There is ample parking in front of the house for 4 cars. The old thatched villages of Long Crendon and Haddenham are only a mile and three miles away respectively; two miles takes you to the market town of Thame with its variety of shops (incl Waitrose) and weekly market. The area is blessed with a huge choice of excellent pubs and restaurants, from our local favourite just around the corner to Michelin-starred establishments a short drive away. Our nearest station, ten minutes away, is Haddenham & Thame Parkway on the Chiltern Line out of London Marylebone.
Ours is a rural region offering all the pleasures of country living yet within easy striking distances of towns and cities and their amenities. It is walking country, with many footpaths and bridleways, with places of historical interest waiting to be discovered, thriving market towns to visit and pretty thatched villages to wander through. The Chilterns (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) can be found just to the east of the region, and the ancient national trail of The Ridgeway further to the south. In the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire borders we have small local communities which enjoy the best of both worlds - a rural life in beautiful countryside as well as access to historical Oxford, 30 minutes away, and of course our capital city London (50 minutes away by train on the Chiltern Line into London Marylebone). We are also easily accessible from the M40 (ten minutes away) all of which makes this area a perfect mid-way point for any multi-stop tour of the country. There are many historic properties to visit in the area (including Waddesdon Manor and Blenheim Palace to name only two) and a myriad different events to chose from throughout the year. Cinemas and theatres are 30 minutes away in Aylesbury or Oxford, and Oxford also has its many museums and colleges. Local communities are busy organising film clubs, sports clubs, summer fetes and concerts, so the tranquillity of the area belies a very active society. This is Midsomer Murders country so you may well come across guided tours in the vicinity.
  • WOW! This is a beautiful open home with windows everywhere looking at the gorgeous English countryside. The home also has both upper and lower patio and garden areas. The home also includes all the amenities you could possible need while visiting!

We have three 4* holiday cottages on our working farm, in a hamlet called Moreton, which is walking distance to the Market Town of Thame. The Old Stable is the largest of the properties comprising three bedrooms one with an en-suite shower room downstairs with a further two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom. There is a secure private rear garden and ample parking. Bedding and towels inclusive of stay along with free wifi and access to our laundry room. Dogs and children also allowed.
The old barns were converted in 2002 into four luxury 4* country cottages, taking the names of their once original purpose: Byre Cottage (cattle shed), The Old Dairy (dairy parlour) and The Old Stable (stabling for horses). There is no passing traffic past the cottages, making the farm a reclusive and peaceful retreat.
Moreton is a pretty hamlet situated near by to The Oxfordshire Golf Course. Thame town is minutes away by car or walking across public footpath takes 10-15 minutes, where there is an abundance of cafes, restaurants and pubs.
  • A lovely cottage a short walk from Thame high street across a country path. Three good bedrooms, two bathrooms and living area with a secluded outside seating area.
